Such a beautiful place to go rockhounding. I could spend all day there. Amazing finds. My introduction, I'm Donna, I'm from Northern Michigan. I haven't been able to do much rock hounding for a few years now due to back issues, so I live through watching my favorite rockhounders on UA-cam. Plus, I started up a cat rescue at my home. My workshop has now become home to many unwanted cats. I need to set up a space to at least get back to tumbling. I have so many I need to do.
Donna, thanks for watching. The Yellowstone is such a special place. Even if you can't visit in person I am glad that you get to experience it through the wonders of the internet. Your cat rescue sounds like more than a full time job!
@AgateAngler it is a full-time job for sure. But it's one I can do and love to do. I'm permanently disabled now and have to have something to keep me busy . I watch several of your fellow UA-camrs that rock hunt on the Yellowstone.
Love watching your videos! Your voice is so calm and soothing❤😊 I live part time in Michigan, I'm from Ohio, but rock hunting in Michigan is a blast! I find pudding stones, gowganda tillite, granite , petoskey stones and so much more!
Thank you so much! I try to create calm and soothing content so it is nice to hear that you felt that way. I would like to hunt in Michigan at some point.
Best ( agate ) day ever ! I thought Kip was like 2- he sure is happy & healthy. Your investment’s are paying off as your video quality & sound are vastly improved. The drones shots are … well stunning. I enjoy the escapism your rock hunts provide. Another point I’d like to make is the fact that you “get it”. Good for you !! Thanks for sharing this awesome video .
When I was in the Army I went to Korea. They had a lapidary shop I really enjoyed it. Did a white Opal pendent. My eldest son is doing a large counter Top for the dinning room . There is a lot of self appreciation that comes with in . My uncle way back in the 1960s was doing coffee tables. He did it all.
We live in British Columbia and have been planning the Yellowstone river trip for over two years, Inspired by you and other Montana UA-camrs. It was fabulous! We have learned so much from mainly you, and it paid off tremendously. You are so right that the lower reaches of the river are better (2:54) as we worked our way from Sydney to Meyers Bridge. Our best picking was near Terry. The people we met were so helpful, and we found the best areas because of them.
@@AgateAngler you dont know it but I've been watching your videos since before Kip found out he didn't like the taste of porkeypines. I'm a 72 year old man rockhound . Now have family in Billings I hope to meet you someday Best wishes from dee in shoshone Wyoming...
Beautiful finds. We're in Florida, so we don't get to hunt agates. Hopefully, we can get some someday. You're very blessed. We love watching you and Kip.
enjoyed the adventure once again Alex, some sweet finds. names Pat, been followin' from the west coast of Canada for a few yrs now, like how you're addin' drone footage ect, takin' the adventures to another level. 👏👊
Really awesome video. Great video skills. Loved seeing the agates glowing on the riverbed. I've been busy slicing up stones on my tile saw, and turning them into pendants.
Wow, what a beautiful, peaceful place. ❤ I’ve GOT to plan a trip up there soon! ETA- that jasper agate was gorgeous!! I tell you what, hide it where it’s safe, and send me the coordinates. 😂😂
Hello Alex from Jefferson Iowa! We will be up your way next week and can't wait! My husband, Brad, is the real RockHounds ..I just look for pretty rocks lol.aybe we will see you around! Love to see Kip put enjoying the water. He's such a handsome boy and so happy
Pickers Paradise my brother, love your videos but makes me super JELLY. I love the scenery. I'm here in Humboldt County California, land of the giant Redwoods. My favorite place locally is Fossil finding at the local rivers, the EEl, and Van Duser especially.
What a lovely and amazing introduction to your video again. JUST loved it. ❤ I use the sun to find the glittering of calcite (I believe) that highlights any fossils in the glacial moraine that is around us. Just loved this video especially when you used the music and the drone. So relaxing.
I am really trying to create a 'feel' with my longer rock hunts so it is nice to get your feedback. I am so thankful you enjoyed the video. Using the sun is a fantastic little trick.
MT has some of the most beautiful jaspers. I'm partial to the jasp agates and dendritic agates there. Happy belated birthday, Kip!! I'm going north next month to search for the LSA's. I would love to add more limonites to my collection. Great video!
I absolutely LOVE your channel. I would love to live In Montana. But being an native Arizonian there’s no way I, my old body could handle the cold weather. I chuckle when people in Montana say it’s a warm/hot day and the temperature is below Hundred degrees. That beautiful weather for native Arizonians. So since I can’t live in Montana, I can at least enjoy the beauty from channels, such as yours. Thank you. Side note, I live by a river that has just rocks. Occasionally an agate or jasper can be found. Mostly quartz/quartzite chert is what can be found. Definitely grateful at least it’s pretty quartz quartzite is not just white. I’m assuming mixed with other minerals. I’ve found many banded chert. But everyone loves the agates jaspagates. THANK YOU FOR SHOWING THE BEAUTY IN MONTANA! 😊
Sunrise and sunset I learned was a good time to search while I was hunting Minnesota agates, the red gleam is like a tiny beacon 😅 (happy to know it's a common tactic)
I love the non agates better if I'm being honest, especially petrified wood! I also really appreciate the drone shots of your surroundings, it's so different to where I am in Australia. 🇦🇺
What a beautiful agate hunting trip for you. I especially love the drone footage and the preview of the rock before you pick them up. I wonder if you look back at 4:38 at 9 o'clock, was that an agate too? I love vicariously rockhounding through you and others who do the same.
Love the glorious cinematic element. Thank you! No one realizes how much time and effort you are putting into these videos. Appreciate you!
It certainly does take time, but I enjoy it especially when I read comments like yours. Thank you!

Amen!
That jaspagate at 18.25 is adorable love those colours. Good to see Kip enjoying the river. ❤
I would probably pick up anything I thought was pretty. Maybe with the small ones.
I often feel bad for only focusing on the agates and gems, but the Yellowstone has LOADS of other beautiful rocks.
What a lovely, peaceful hunt! I could spend days camped out on that gravel bar. Especially if Kip was there with me. ❤

You found some great pieces. This really is a paradise. Thank you for making and sharing such a beautiful video.❤
My pleasure! Thanks so much for coming along for the hunt.

Looks like a fairburne agate , nice find for sure .
Fairburns are something I've always wanted to go looking for!

I came to Montana to find those beautiful yellow jasper's. Lots of beautiful rocks in Montana.
Where did you hunt in Montana? They don't call it the treasure state for nothing!
Woah!! That image at 9:47 is amazing! Love that gorgeous agate with the MT sky and river in the background. 🤩
Alex, I've been watching your channel almost since the beginning. You've really upped your videography. Beautiful! Congrats on the agates!
The new logo is awesome! Also a bunch of great finds and scenery, thanks for sharing and a happy birthday to Kip!

I miss Montana so much!! I wish I would have known about agates when I lived there 10 years ago!! I Lived in Helena but I traveled all over the state.
Hermoso lugar....hermosas agatas❤
Beautifully done video and so relaxing. Shout out Kip from Wyoming.
Nicely done video. Relaxing music. Great drone footage. Enjoyed the flowers!
I'm developing a little bit of a theme with the wildflowers. I need to try to catch more insects, reptiles, and mammals.

Thanks for noticing. The new logo is going to be popping up more in some new ways ;)
The hunt is always fun. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Really awesome video.
Great video skills.

I love to see a colorful Jasper. I love some Agats too, but the colors in Jasper is so unbelievable. Nature is the best artist
I need to remember to show more of the jasper that I find. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

Love the piece of wood
Great video, I’m Jed from New Brunswick, Canada.
This will be our second visit to Montana and we can not wait! We already have a couple spots we love
I just think it is amazing you can pick out amazing rocks out of all that gravel. Amazing😂
It definitely takes time to learn, but I've spent a long time practicing.

A lot of people from AZ spend their summers in MT or the rocky mountain west to escape the heat. Might be time for a visit!
@@AgateAngler oh I would love to. Winters look miserably cold. But I’m sure is easy for native Montanans. Absolutely beautiful there.

a nice big regular screwdriver is great for plucking out the ones stuck in the ground

4:37 really wanted to take a look at that specimen in the upper left hand corner.
Just saw your post on fb, so glad I came over to watch this! I hope to make it to Yellowstone one day to rockhound 😊
I'm so glad you came to watch! Every rockhound should put it on their bucket list!
Just around Billings this summer I have collected 4 five gallon buckets of moss agate and over 500 piece of petifred wood
That looked like a piece of seam agate at 18:29. Fiery looking. Wonder what a thin slab would look like?
It may have been, Might have to give it a cut.
Large and beautiful!
Being a rockhounder myself in Oregon, I keep yelling at the video,
"Wait, backup, I saw one more" 😅
Give Kip a birthday kiss from me.😘
4.38 middle left looked like it was glowing too.
That one might make a nice Iris
It may very well have some iris.
Have you ever tried taking one of those really dark petrified wood pieces, slice it against the grains so you see all the "rings" and cab/polish?
Can you do some cutting videos... You and your family are amazing rock hounders...
I will be trying to make some over the next month or so.
@@AgateAngler you're awesome...
Have u found any Apache tears . I have down in coulson Park . They r so beautiful .

Amen to that!
I mean the last one
is it BLM around the Yellowstone there?
Would you know anyone buying agate or wood
