Am I the only person who is getting rather annoyed that every new type of music that's slightly heavier than a not-heavy type of music is instantly labelled as "something-core"?
And most of it is just a form of punk with a new theme. I guess kids today still want to shock and can't really play instruments. Shocker.
It's honestly unoriginal and makes me avoid a genre that use that stupid trope
I don't see where you are coming from. The latest type of music that i have seen that is heavier than the average and got popular was phonk, and honestly there are entire phonk artists that shound heavier (not the same as aggressive) than a bunch of metal songs out there and it isnt a "-core" neither are any of it's subgenres.

Incelcore is more grunge than anything else. It has Nirvana's bleach and Failure's fantastic planet vibe to it at least in my mind. Compare the lyrics or sound of any incelcore song and look at a grunge band with a album similar to bleach.

I honestly wouldn't say he had any kind of downfall just every few years he comes out with a braindead political take that he gets unreasonably upset about
Always glad to have press, but I think you got quite a few points of the timeline wrong, as someone who’s been with it since at least 2020. The “Epunk” rebrand was something Negative XP came up with long after virginfest. Some adopt it, others don’t. Also, manson family murder tapes came out in 2020, over a year before virginfest, and long before negative XP nuking MSG. It wasn’t an attempt to “revive the scene”, it was a separate comp that didn’t see as much success.
Also, to say that incelcore or epunk is “dead” I think is a bit wrong. There’s less mainstream attention on it than there was at the flashpoint of virginfest, and there’s certainly been a changing of the guard, as a lot of the OG artists either left the scene or retired. But artists like Fried by Fluoride, NEET, Crustsox, and H4rtbrkr have seen massive growth of the last few years, with no signs of stopping. Some of the more OG Artists like Greens on Toast continue to play shows and see growth as well.
Otherwise, not a bad video. I can appreciate that you tried to shed some positive light on the community, rather than being super negative.

you can make that claim. but the redpill stuff was what shown a light on it, and lots of communities, not just incels incorporated those things in to their own ideology. The hypergamy thing was specifically studied and pointed out and experimented with by redpill folks. But its a good thing those factual observations are escaping just 1 sub culture.
epunk is not normal punk, punk was always left leaning music, i guess we can call it a new type of music but is not what we would consider normal punk

This led to a long and still somewhat ongoing feud between nazi punks and the more common left leaning punks. Whilst it is correct that most punks today tend to be left leaning that was not always the case.
If you wanna learn some more about this I’d recommend the documentary on the rock against racism movement, white riot.

this is a video ive been wanting to make for awhile, but you seem to have said everything in a more concise and digestible format than I would have done. Happy to see you use footage from Negative XP at Light Wave. The fractured environment of communities and subculture you speak of stands in the way of our generation being able to unite around an artistic movement in the way that we did with grunge and punk in the 90s and 80s. The reason I put together Light Wave and had Negative XP perform there was simple, real life concerts are the way we connect with the music and each other in any 'scene' the most naturally. These groups keeps falling apart and tearing each other down because they are too embedded within the online environment which is constantly changing and inherently confusing due to the nature of how we perceive each other through limited senses. I would love to talk with you sometime about this topic as there's much more to explore! Great work, you've earned a new subscriber and appreciator.

Some Incelcore actually goes into black metal territory. Some of Uhohslater I believe, and Negative XP on Gamer 3. There are strange parallels between the genres.

its a combination between listening to the entry-level media that only gets your feet wet, surface level research on a topic, combined with what is essentially the blind leading the blind. The end result is something you've heard before, and will probably hear again as long as incelcore still exists.
not that it wont happen but the possibility of getting any analysis video that gives an original point of view is directly correlated with the amount of mega autists that get seriously involved and are willing to put in the effort of making a video about it. this goes for most genres of music.

I don't know much about it other than what I've heard from Negative XP, but love this music or hate this music, punk or not punk, these young musicians are undeniably causing a stir in the culture, which is more than you can say for any band currently signed to Epitaph Records or whatever.
