Hey Gary! Been following your channel for a couple of years now. Just saw your new intro today, I have to say it is really cool, I watched it several times! Being a bass player myself, and also an Olympus 75mm F1.8 owner 😅. Thank you for your energetic and positive videos!
I don't use lens hood these days. Back then I used to use lens hood but I kept accidentally knocking the hood to the wrong position, and I ended up with the hood present in my images.
I recently bought it, just because I always wanted to have it in my collection. I honestly don't use it that much, because the 40-150/2.8 is almost permanently glued to my camera, but having the 75 as a discreet option for events and concerts is great.
I finally picked up this lens after many years of humming and hawing. It's a fantastic lens that delivers such great bokeh. I also have the GX85 and GX850. Here's a tip to make your GX850 more usable: I picked up a rubber stick-on grip designed for the Sony RX100. Though it's not a perfect fit on the GX850, it does improve its handling 100% with this grip! (I looked in vain for the grips from FlipBac, but couldn't find them for sale anywhere.)
Thanks for sharing! My copy of the lens doesn't really show any significant CA, but maybe it's because Lumix cameras have in body corrections going on.
@@Gary_W could be, I've never used Lumux cameras and I used the lens on an older Oly cameras, don't know how it will be on the new cameras, but if you don't use it in backlight situations is amazing.

Thank you very much for the kind words and for the Super Thanks 😁 All the very best!
A beautiful and very sharp lens. It's a wonderful landscape lens, as well. Love your bag of tools, Gary
Thank you for the kind words! 😁
It’s one of my favorite lenses, and I use it all the time, especially for event photography and portraits. Thanks for revisiting it!
You're very welcome! 😁
Totally agree. Such a good lens. I have several systems and this is still one of my all time favourites.
My all time favorite too, I just love the results coming out from that lens.
Have it and love it. Fantastic lens so long as you're far enough.
Hi, nice vidéo and great lens. How did you make macro with this lens ? (Spider). With close-up lens added ? Or just croping ? Thank you.
Awesome quality lens, the 45mm f1.8 is also underestimated.
Hallo Gary,
the oly 75 1.8 is a very good lens.
Another very good lens is the leica nocticron 42.5 1.2 for mft. You will love it.
Thanks for sharing! I'll try the Nocticron in the future 😁
Do you use the lens hood at all? I have this lens and don't use a hood.

Can you review the sigma lens for M4/3
I really want to get my hands on the 16mm f1.4 in the future. Stay tuned!
@@Gary_W ❤️❤️ can't wait for it. Yeiii
another great video - many thanks!!!

I now tried to use the 75 more than my Lumix 35-100mm f/2.8. The Oly 75mm is more fun in my opinion 😁

Good portrait lense . And you can really use some new models.
You’ve got a gx8/gx9?
I have a GX8
Love that lens. Only CA are really bad, but if you're careful it's very sharp, great out of focus rendering and with warm colors.

The best lens i've had, but so hard to use (too long)
Berapa harga seken nya? 🤭
i joined the club recently
Welcome to the club, hope you're enjoying the 75mm 😊
@@Gary_W can't wait to travel and enjoy it
Your location Much similar as my location. From India.
My 75mm is extremely sharp too. However, the really cheap Sigma 60mm f/2.8 from f/4 is just as sharp as this 75mm.
Good to hear, I'm really interested to try those Sigma M43 lenses, they're really difficult to find these days.
Actually, the 25-50mm is even sharper, insane sharpness and local contrast.
I'd love to try the PanLeica 25-50mm lens in the future! Thanks for sharing 😁
How sharp is it at 75mm? Interested to know that, thx 😉
Although both being very sharp (and good) : My sigma 56 1.4 lens is sharper than my zuiko 75 1.8 lens
Thanks for sharing! I would love to check it out in the future.
