My youngest grew up watching this, along with their eldest sister. I would always join them! Cos George is so cute, a beautiful, gentle program. Just hearing this reminds me of all the beautiful times I enjoyed with my children. My children r now 20 & 32yrs old & I am 52. Now they look after me, I have end stage renal disease & am kept alive with dialysis. I can’t listen to this without tears, tears of joy & gratitude. My memories delight me. My children bring me more joy than I could ever have imagined. And this song takes me right back to those times.
Just thinking about watching curious George when I got out of preschool and elementary realizing they'll never happen again 🥲😔 other great things to look foward to in life tho but this song is just too nostalgic
you made me think of the times when the girls always had cooties or something and they would chase us on the playground, its sad my elem. school got shut down though
My grandmother gifted me the Curious George Movie DVD when I was little girl, it became my favorite movie, and now that she has passed away this song is such a bittersweet memory for me 🤍
I haven't heard this since I was 7. I watched Curious George (which most of you probably know featured this song as an intro for the film) with my dad so much and he's now been passed for many years. Damn I cried LOL. Miss those simpler times a lot
Never really noticed before, but the song has a melancholy to it, as if outlining the change from being a baby to becoming a kid, and then growing up. You go from not giving much of a mind to anything, then become so gosh darned curious about everything, your mind blooming into something wonderful and consistently mystified like a certain curious primate - but then you get older still, and the feelings change. You still crave that spark of adventure and the excitement of finding new things, but it inevitably gets washed away with the tedium of age and experience. You want to cling to that, but it still goes away. But as a dying chimp once told his caretaker in yellow, if anything in this world continues to matter it's the one thing that will persist into time immemorial. You may lose that curiosity and innocence, the world may lose its glimmer of newness, but the most important thing remains: love. Or something. It's a genius song, I'm really glad Jack Johnson had the go-ahead to basically do anything with it as long as he included the word 'curious' in it. It's a very emotional and iconic piece as a result. Nostalgic, too.
i remember watching this movie when i was younger. Mom, dad and I all together. He left right before i started high school due to drug use but i never hated him for it. now im 21 years old singing this to my daughter hoping it gives her happy memories just as it did for me. such a beautiful song.
Here’s the thing about nostalgia, your going to keep on feeling this every couple years as your life progresses. Looking nostalgically on how things were a year or two ago, is a natural response to change, and it’s good. One day you’ll feel the same way about middle school that you do now.
You got this, life will put us through the ringer but you got to stay strong and stand tall, it's songs and moments like this that shape us and make us better people

This song, it just makes me think of living without regrets, or worries. It makes me think of childhood, life, and most of all, love. When I heard this song, such a feeling brought tears to my eyes. This made me think of living life to the fullest. After listening, I feel like I want to turn my life around.
This is probably one of the most memorable songs from my childhood, I remember when I was around 4 to maybe 5 years old watching the curiouse George movie a few times here and there, I also remember once or twice going to my aunts house in the evening with my mom and my younger sister after watching it. this song reminds me of how happy and carefree I was as a young kid, but life happens and stuff get messed up and all over the place, not to mention my dad was an alcoholic who walked out on me and my sister 5 years back. but in the midst of all the crap of this world, I look back at when I was younger and think about how happy i was, and it always seems to make my day a little bit better.
This song will forever remind me of the lake. I go to my cousins lake house for every Fourth of July and it’s a four hour drive but it beyond worth it. We go tubing, swimming, go on the boat, hang out by the lake, etc. but this song will always remind me of the lake because my uncle and my cousin play the guitar and they play this song every year. Also my cousins live in NYC so I rarely get to see them. I see them at the lake and on thanksgiving that’s it. So after both of those trips I’m always missing them. I just got back yesterday for the lake and I’m still missing it and probably will for the next 2 weeks. I just cannot wait for next year and thanksgiving.
My father gifted me the Jack Johnson CD for my birthday when I was young. I continue to listen to it on the way to school every day. (It's been 8 years) ❤
This song takes me back to when I was a little kid watching the Curious George movie with my siblings. No matter how many times we watched that movie, the opening scene with this song was and always will be my favorite part of the movie.
Honestly this opening scene on Curious George still makes me cry, it's that perfect blend of lighthearted silliness wherever you can find it yet still being so lonely
Some of us had those teachers in school that took pictures and videos (not in that way) of us at field trips, or special events, or holidays, Then at the end of the school year you'd get a DVD they made from all the footage. Simple slide shows of you and all your classmates from throughout the year, and this song was on every dvd.
