I believe that,Only SM has the balls to have idols from each generation collaborate with each other! Nobody can come at these vocals, visuals, or dance! 1st Gen: BoA (debuted in 2000; 22 years) 2nd Gen: Taeyeon and Hyoyeon of SNSD (debuted in 2007; 15 years) 3rd Gen: Wendy and Seulgi of Red Velvet (debuted in 2014; 8 years) 4th Gen: Karina and Winter of Aespa (debuted in 2020; 2 years) I was also freaking out. 4 generations of kpop its crazy. They all look like a dynasty of performers.
Not sure if you know/knew, but that little "Incoming" you mentioned at the beginning of the song is almost like a "signature" if you will that this is a Dem Jointz produced song. He has done a lot of work in Kpop (NCT, EXO, NMIXX, BTS, etc.)
It was almos 5am here in Brazil when Step Back was played in the live and i was soooo tired that I dont even rememeber how my first time listening it was. But now i love it and I do prefer it over Stamp on it
First listen is very off putting because its very noise music like in a bad way. But then i listened a few more times and it is one of my top ten of last year.
@@butterflai_ the fact that some of the most powerful women in kpop are singing about bringing other woman down for the sake of a men does not sit well with me, sorry.
Some may hate this, but I must say that my problem with the SM agency has merged all its artists under one type of music, so it is difficult to distinguish between the bands, and this applies to both girls 'and boys' bands, when you hear a song of this format, you will say that it is from the sm agency without knowing the band name to know what I mean by that ... This poses a problem for me because it destroys the identity of the bands and any concept created for it, and this is what you find in other agency bands such as winner, twice, black pink, gidle, and others .if it continues in this way, everyone will gradually lose interest in their artists... The song is like a song from the agency, nothing new or surprising, the song is normal, she really should review her music production methods, because it's really starting to get boring
Yeah I kinda understand what you mean That harmonization at the chorus, the high note, the bridge etc 😂😂😂 Sometimes that's so similar one song with another SM song But honestly if we dig on their b side, sm has so much more discography than other agencies. I think because they have more group and SM sometimes try a really2 weird song but the vocals always good
I think i will disagree, SM 2022 catalog alone prove that every group and soloist has their sound and identity, all of them are doing their own thing, there are some similarities here and there sure, since they share a lot of producers, but imo I'm still able to differentiate between all of them. I mean you're saying that NCT could release something like Feel My Rhythm or that aespa could release Forever 1 without being odd or weird?? I use those two groups as an example because those two are the ones that most people feel have a similar sound, but the rest of SM groups?? Definitely not. And if we talk about soloist they have an even more different style between them.
how long you have been listening to Kpop? Kpop is SM Kpop started wiith SM this unique mesh is what make Kpop unique else it is just Koreans adopting pop adopting Jpop and Western Pop you should watch the Higher Faculty interviews with a Kpop producer on how to compose Kpop
All these weird songs from SM... they call it 'SMP music' (SMP = SM Performance) ... they're mostly about performance (choreography and vocal skills) but throws melody down the drain. EXO and NCT probably had most songs of this style of music.
The song slaps hard and the lyrics are a little okay(considering girls would swoon if it is gender-bent) but because of their group name, it's very off-putting.
Only SM can bring people all from 1st gen - 4th gen in one group 😂

Only f(x) is missing
@@marystudy2442 SES too

The bridge was everything.
Step back is a song that grows on people :))) I also didn't quite felt it on the first listen, but after a while it turns into a bop
I Love it Immediately
the vocals omg

Yeah! These Young Women Got This! I Actually Love This!🥰😃😊💗
I didn’t like this song for the LONGEST TIME but it grew on me. SM producers aren’t the best sometimes…
The song takes time to grow on you. The instrumental takes getting used to.

It took a few listens 🎶 😕 for my brain to filter out the junkyard pipe organ instrumental 😅
It didn’t take me that long to actually like this song and after I rlly liked it 💀
In my opinion the song is not that bad, their voices are amazing and the choreo slaps but the lyrics...oh boy the lyrics are truly truly shitty.
Since when kpop give a shi about lyrics? 😭

I like the song and this concept fits every girl especially wendy very well. But I do have to admit that the lyrics make no sense😂
Just watch the album and you will be surprised
do you have a spotify playlist with your fav kpop songs??
