Well that was hard to watch, butchering that canopy and wasting so much space and not going all out by the way..... Buuuut I don't care not my car and was still entertaining to watch/cringie.
False floor seems such a waist of space. It’s a pity you can’t fit water bladders or similar in there.
I put all my spare parts , hoses electrical gear etc under my dog box false floor 👌
@@oldluxy that's a good use of the space, but I'm not sure in this case that they have allowed access.
Yeah it sucks, James does have access to it from the electrical side, you can slide recovery gear or tarps of something under there, not ideal but yeah!
Yes that's a lot of storage room wasted. And the sound of the Kings draw sliders........you get what you pay for,.,..
I was thinking the same thing, You can do any number of things to address that & make that space useful

Yeah and it’s now no longer watertight, they cut sections out of the rubber seal out. Idiots lol

One thing you should consider. When your bolting things in, always try and have the nuts on the inside. I note you have the nuts on the underside. with vibrations and 4wding, there is a huge chance these can rattle off. Furthermore you didnt use nylocks either so the chance of that nut shown at 2:30 coming off...is high.....
yeah i know they were what we had at the time and the bolt shop was closed i went down the monday arfter and got new nylocks nuts for it and replased them
To cut up the canopy is ridiculous!!!
Kings draws are heavy as, probably would of been better to custom make draws so you don’t have to cut the canopy, I suspect by cutting, it may weaken the canopy too
Canopy definitely wasn’t 10k I got the same set up coast me like 6k all up not even that
Why get cheap electricals from kings, dont u want a reliable battery system?
looking back on this after watching many more canopy videos you way overpayed just to do it yourself

Sucks that you have to cut up your brand new canopy and have it on a slight angle and have to put in a false floor. If I were to spend 10k on something I would be gutted it if didn’t go as planned
That's the thing, he only spent 10k. These sort of setups from professional shops etc are 20k+

You can connect red to black one way connects the batteries in series the other in parallel one increase you volts from 12 to 24 the other increases your amps

Yes! This! Ive had metal needled out of my eye... Not cool. I was wearing glasses, now i use full shield.
@@michaelbansagi3779 Yeah my mate got a spark in his eye and has had fuzzy vision ever since.
Raising the canopy off the tray floor will help stop rust by allowing moisture to evaporate and not just sit there.

Nicely done. Hope you get those potential leak areas fixed...it'd be a PITA to find dust and mud throughout the canopy. That black carcinogen blowing out the exhaust needs to be reduced for yourself and others. Thanks for telling us the build cost - it is something missing from most builds on YT.

Seems like you chose the wrong canopy alot of wasted space underneath and all round really but in saying that it will make your camping life so much better either way but best bang for buck you really didn't do well
My next 4wd I might put a tray on it I’m not doing it to my current 4WD because the tub is in perfect condition

@@troyus111 lithium has come right down in price and, you would only need half the AH when compared to AGM. There are so many benefits of lithium. Weight, charge/discharge rate, holds a higher voltage. etc......

Never rush a job!!! Those draws are simply bolted together. You could have unbolted them and stacked them ontop of each other, be about the same height as your fridge. I would redo it so you can weld a piece of ali back in where you cut it out and get a decent canopy back. You could call it a recovery.👌👌👌
Did a similar build. Had trouble with the titan fridge slides. The rubber bump stop disintegrates leaving alot of play in the slide. Returned it bought dometic no problem. And i only ran a 74l xtm fridge

all looks good but why use wood and not steel or alloy to space the box off the tray?
also wont be water tight with those bottom corners cut out look at fabing a way to seal to protect your investment not just hanging shit boys love the vids allways good to get another opinion
we used wood to stop electrolyse and the bottom corners will leak but we think we have a solution maybe :)
