  • VEVOR magnetic drill press complete with coolant feed and reservoir allows quick, precise and smooth drilling into steel and iron while the drill is upright, inverted or horizontal. We used the Metalworking Fluids Trim SC520 for the coolant to keep the drill bit and metal cool.

    Friend, you should use the pin regardless of having a center punch, because it ejects the slug.

    4:05 - Loosen the large hex screw on the gray part of the drill body, you can adjust it up and will have no problem with standard jobber drill bits. You've got it set at it's lowest setting.

    Based on my experience with the 1300 watt variable speed reversible version, you're going to find it very useful. I run it with Slugger coolant mixed 9:1 with water. The coolant works great. Feeding from the inside it has no place to go but ought through the hot teeth so it's very efficient at keeping the bit cool which will help them last longer. It will be especially good to use it on yours which spins quite bit faster than mine does. Based on how well the annular cutters performed on the Vevor I bought an R8/Weldon adaptor for my mill and transfer the Vevor coolant reservoir to the mill when I used annular cutters there in combination with the DRO to make a drill jig for creating my own fixture table. The chuck that came with mine turned out to be quite good with surprisingly little runout. The OD of the chuck just below the chuck key hole has a runout of ~ 0.001". The shank of a chucked bit is +/- ~0.002". IMO: That's beyond good enough for drilled holes.

      More power is generally always better.

    Hey mate, I have one and you can loosen the silver hex bolt on the base of the motor to enable you to lift the motor to give you more travel for twist drill work. (The slide is double sided)

      Thank you so much for the information! Wish I would have known that for the video.

    Im buying one now.
    I actually do mostly woodworking, but having a straight drill set up that will sit flat on the surface of large projects and moves easily is invaluable. The 3 or 4 times a year I need to get through metal will be a bonus.

    Is there a difference between their "Orange" drill vs their "Yellow" drill ?

      From what I can find, the yellow base has a stronger base magnet. Everything else looks the same.

    I have a question the first cooling liquid is regular engine oil??

    • @brettleybuilt
      @brettleybuilt  8 місяців тому

      No, it was thread cutting oil, used when threading metal pipe.
