I think that you can't compare them on their techniques because they're too different. But Anette is my favourite singer, I just love her voice. It has so much emotions and she can sing in so many different stiles: really low and jazzy like Slow, Love, Slow or like a witch in Scaretale, for instance. Anette is so amazing!

The standard driving Nightwish sound of Storytime, to the smooth jazz of Slow Love Slow, to the "hag" vocals of Scaretale, and the Celtic chantey of Turn Loose The Mermaids. I bought Imaginaerum a couple weeks back, was surprised, yet satisfied with the range of styles on the album. All in all, Annete and the rest of the band and crew did a fantastic job.
How can the guards be so unmoved by that beautiful intro? I was at the show in Los Angeles with my recently broken up girlfriend, and the intro was so beautiful that bodies hit the floor later that night. Nightwish -"getting people laid since 1996".
I think Anette will do good for Nightwish,is a new era,she's fresh, i see she have charisma and looks happy when she's on stage (even when ppl talk bad, or scream Tarja to her, that's unforgiving) real nightwish's fans wouldn't do that to the band, causing more damage to nightwish. assume the change, Tarja is now in solo career and she's doing awesome too.
Yet I just went and listened to some DPP Live as well as saw her recently and it sounded just fine! I prefer her DPP stuff over this album, But she is still an amazing singer here =) I got to see her in SLC (Her very last show) just before she left =( I will miss her, But I am still seeing a bright future for Nightwish
You cannot disagree that Tarja is an amazing singer and suited Nightwish amazingly, but at the same time, I see no problems with Anette. In my opinion, her voice is a lot more versatile for a metal band. Yes Tarja brought the original feel that distinguished Nightwish from many other metal bands, but the Operatic tones started to sound repetitive after a while. With Anette, I think they will be able to be more creative down the road. Who knows, she may even learn to do some metal screams ;D
in all honesty, this is the only non shitty performance I've ever seen her do. She actually sounds like she does on the album in this song. Usually she doesn't. They're coming to my town on Sunday. I'm watching this, debating whether or not to shell out 30 dollars, and go...

For the ones that keep talking bad to Anette, i suppose all of you're sopranos, mesumsopranos or something like that, right?? O.o if so then excuse me,i'm talking with a real musician then. If not then try to be on stage infront of thousand ppl and we'll see how you sing. She'll learn and will do better each time she go out to stage, no one of us born with everything learned, have different style compare with Tarja, but that's suppose to be, all of us are different and that's the cool of it.

Und das Titel wie The Kinslayer fehlen liegt einfach da dran, dass Anette einen anderen Typ Stimme hat als Tarja. Anders aber nicht schlechter. Meiner Meinung nach in gewisser Hinsicht sogar besser.
