    If my teachers carried guns I wouldn't feel safer I would be terrified. Ask any student!

    Taking someone's gun from them is limiting their rights??? Excuse me but what about the right to life?

    I think Mr. Mauser did the right thing by having Colorado close all gun shows in that state. If only we can make that possible with the rest of the country. I really don't understand how somebody like Suzanna can support fire arms even after she wittnessed her parents death by a gun. That's just something I can never understand.

      13 years late but - although Tom is absolutely right about certain guns being ridiculous to own (like the one that took his sons life), I do think that taking away guns permanently will only cause more chaos. Those who purchase guns illegally or through loopholes (like H&K or Cho) would still be able to get a hold of a gun, while those who are good and choose to purchase guns legally would not be able to protect themselves. I think that guns should be allowed but it should be very difficult to obtain one.

    This man may have different views than you and I about the 2nd Amendment but he has faced a loss and he is trying to stop you and I from losing our children to the same fate. While we disagree on guns I respect this man immensely for standing up for what he believes in. No matter what you may think about his views while we don't see eye to eye I will defend him because he is a good man who is trying to do what he thinks is right. And I respect that.

      Suzanna Hupps parents were murdered by a mass shooter.

    Back in 1791 when the 2nd was instituted it took 3 minutes to reload a weapon for one shot. Now days a weapon like an AR-15, with a bump stock can shoot 9 rounds per second. I wonder if they could contemplate that in 1791,when this "right" was put into effect?

    I love this video. It shows people who's families are both victims of gun violence with two different sides. I would be ticked if my parents were dead and I couldn't defend them because my way to defend them was in the car to follow a law while somebody else was breaking it. But I would also be ticked if my kid was shot and the person who did it got a gun because there was a loophole in gun control. Both sides are understandable and I admire both families for what they do.

      Me, too, but you all have to understand this - the guns that the murderers had were obtained legally by adults! That's why two of them went to jail. Why Robyn didn't go to jail is beyond me. They used the guns she purchased for them!

    Yes this segment took place over a dozen years ago, but wow the pro gun woman here was extraordinarily ignorant. Mass shooters do not “snap”. These crimes are almost always premeditated. In my mind, assault rifles should not only be banned at the federal level, but we should institute a mandatory buyback for every single one that has already been purchased. We do not need these rifles with huge capacity magazines on the streets.

    @WatchforKicks Yes it's especially a tough situation to know what's right when the massacres happen so fast. Many of them have happened faster than the cops could get there so that understandably makes people want to be able to defend themselves because there's no time. Then there's another side that says if they had never been allowed the weapon maybe it wouldn't have happened at all. Then another point saying how easy it is to get weapons illegally. There's just no easy solve.

      The guns at Columbine were not obtained illegally. They got the guns from friends over 18 who bought them legally and then gave and sold to Dylan and Eric.

  • @DisWldFrk90
    @DisWldFrk90 12 років тому

    @WatchforKicks Honestly if this was any other video I wouldn't have made that comment. I said that because Mr. Mauser very often gets lot of cruel people who attack other people that don't have the same views. Which includes insulting his son. I didn't want to be responsible for a fight. I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been harsh attacks in this video, unless he deleted it. So I invited them basically to fight with me in a message where Mr. Mauser doesn't have to look at it.

  • @santiagomatamoros7885
    @santiagomatamoros7885 6 років тому

    Mauser: I was in the military. I humped a real machine-gun at 19yrs old for 18 months.The weapons I currently own are not military-grade weapons even though externally they look the same. Thoughtful people turn away from your message when they realize what you are saying is misleading. Legally, a Citizen in good standing can purchase a military-grade small arm if they can fork over $10k plus, and pass a months-long background check. I can pass, yet I don't bother. Nut-jobs and Gangbangers certainly won't bother.

    • @safemauser
      @safemauser  6 років тому +4

      You apparently are defining military grade as fully automatic. Sorry, but I think most "Thoughtful people" understand how destructive even a semi auto rifle with a high capacity mag can cause a lot of damage in a short period of time. That's why a MAJORITY of them of favor an assault weapons ban.

  • @DisWldFrk90
    @DisWldFrk90 13 років тому

    @DisWldFrk90 Oh and after looking at the comments I thought I should say this before it comes up, I don't think Mr. Mauser wants any arguing on his video. If any of you are going to argue me and say that one side isn't understandable/admirable or that one of them is "stupid" I ask that you say it in a message to me. Not on this video.

    I think everybody here is missing the point. The only reason Eric and Dylan shot these students to begin with is because they had placed two large propane canisters in the cafeteria to go off when the cafeteria was full, thereby killing all the students in the cafeteria as well as the library. The only thing that prevented this was the timer was set wrong. So in this case actually to call for gun control and using this shooting as an exhibit is off the mark. What would happen if the propane canisters had gone off and killed hundreds of students? What kind of stand would we take then? No more propane canisters? Laws against selling propane canisters? Harris and Klebold only started shooting when they saw the canisters were not going to go off. So really to start calling for gun control because of this event is really missing the mark because guns were used as a secondary measure and were not intended to be used as a first line of offense.

    • @LeannefunkE
      @LeannefunkE 9 років тому

      I agree with you to an extent, gun control alone isn't going change the frequency of school shootings in the country, it's a culture problem. But on the other hand, there's no reason that two teens should be able to go out and buy shotguns and semi automatics. No reason whatsoever.

    • @TheTrutherDave
      @TheTrutherDave 9 років тому

      They didn't. They had two others buy the guns for them. Mark Manes and Robyn Anderson bought the guns that were used they didn't buy them theirself Klebold was 18 and had no record or record of mental illness so he was legally allowed to buy a gun.It's not a culture problem those that are mentally sound will not go out and kill a hooker because they play Grand Theft Auto. They won't go out and steal a car. Its not a culture problem it is a parenting problem. The society we live in has made the family unit obselete and in many houses the father is non existent and the mother works so the child is left to fend for theirself and nobody is teaching them right and wrong so they are taught from the kids on the street.That's the point. Obama wants to make it so nobody can have a gun. This is how Germany was able to take everyone's guns in the 1930's they told them " its for you own good". The jews had their guns taken and they were not able to defend theirself when the Gestapo came and rounded them up to go to the ghettos. Himmler to the Germans.." If you want to have a gun then join the SS or the Gestapo"...I can tell you now if they try to take our guns there will be a 2nd revolution and it will be a blood bath. We have a little thing called the 2nd amendment that protects us from gun confiscation and Obama knows it. Best not to mess with our guns.

    • @LeannefunkE
      @LeannefunkE 9 років тому

      +TheTrutherDave Well, Robyn was 18 too and I'm pretty sure she was the one that got them most of the weapons. And I think it's obvious that culture IS a big part of this. Canada is really pro gun, and they rarely ever have problems like this. If they have as many (if not more) guns than us, why don't they have school shootings every year like we do?

    • @LeannefunkE
      @LeannefunkE 9 років тому

      +TheTrutherDave +TheTrutherDave Also those boys had loving, involved parents and lived in the suburbs. The rest of their siblings turned out fine. So your argument that kids "Have to learn from kids on the street" is frankly, bullshit.

    • @TheTrutherDave
      @TheTrutherDave 9 років тому

      I'm sorry you feel that way but let's get to reality for a moment. In all of the videos of these two, did you once see the parents? Nope. Dylan was a follower of Eric's and did pretty much what Eric told him to. This is the reality. Eric hated most people even said so in the cafeteria video. Neither were happy people and fought demons every day in their lives. Dylan saw a kindred spirit in Eric and the two were both into satanism and the occult. Eric was fascinated by Hitler and the Nazis. Both wanted to end their lives because every day was a living hell they didn't show and they decided to go out on their own terms and go into the history books. When you hear the names you know exactly who they were. It doesn't matter how good the parents are or how good the siblings turned out when you have a child that is delusional and thinks a certain way no matter how good of a life he has if somebody comes along and is better than what they have then they learn from those people right?

    honestly i dont see why people need guns... if they want guns go to war.. when people say they need guns to protect them selfs but why? if there is a gun law there wont be any guns so what is greater then a gun to protect your self? a bomb? idk.. i think there is no need for guns an like i said.. a gun is used to kill.. people go to training to learn how to use a gun for what reason? protect your self over what? nonsence.

      @@liflyer0413Self defence against what exactly? There is no good reason to have a gun, the only people that should be able to access one are armed forces, police etc. When kids are getting guns and murdering other kids something is seriously wrong. Tom is not trying to ban guns he’s trying to tighten the laws on getting one. If children as young as 5 can deal with intruder training in school then i’m sure as hell you and other gun nuts can deal with having tighter laws around these killing machines.
