陶器の使い初めに目止めをすると、
汚れを付きにくくしたり、
土の荒い目をふさぐ効果があります。
また、目止めをした器と目止めをしていない器を
使い始めて効果のほどを比較してみました。
※目止めで貫入への汚れや染み込みを完全に防ぐことは出来ませんので、定期的に行うと器を長く使えます。

ceramic needs to be prepared for leak and breakage resistant.
"Medome" is a traditional Japanese method of preventing dirt.

Naw, That's not TRUE Japanese would do . Don't listen to an Faux Japanese. An Japanese wannabe fake guidance here !
First of all , You do not need to do that over entire surface of ceramic . When you do then you are inviting all kinds of molds over porous surface side.
You do need to do that only inner side. Just an upper side. That all you need.
