What a nice restoration job. Such a large clock allows to really appreciate all the gears at work without a magnifying glass. The dial of the clock is very nice looking.

    I wanna hear it chime

Very fair! I missed to include a short video with chiming sound. Unfortunately, UA-cam has no tool to embed a new section in already published video. They allow trimming only.

A little disappointing, it has been my experience, over 25 years, in repairing and restoring mechanical clocks, one must assume the customer has zero knowledge. You fail to do that, you say order the new pendulum, you don't state what length, and how you determined the proper size for your new found clock. You say, clean the clockworks with out providing the various safe methods in cleaning said works. I stopped listening as my perception is you want to just say "look at me, and what I can do" as opposed let me help you repair your Grandfather clock. If I am being overly critical, I apoligise, but clock repair, is not rocket science.

I like you comment, because it is a real feedback. In my defense, that was my first experience with clocks. I was doing wrist watches repair and restoration before this clock came my way. I I did not plan to make a video when I did the work, but I made a lot of pictures, just for my reference, so I would not forget where all gears and parts should go. When I decided to publish a short video, I used those pics and they serve as a slideshow. I did not share any data, just wanted to share my excitement. Not everything should be educational. There is a second part of this video, and I made it because one viewer wanted to hear the sound of chime. Thanks again for your comment.

@@ValentechTime For your 1st repair job (clock) it was well done. I am sensitive to conveying the correct information, as when I started learning the art of clock repair, there was no internet, I was strictly a clock collector and antique dealer. If it had not been for the generosity of time and knowledge of multiple NAWCC members as well as certain excellent well written technical manuals and follow up hands on clock repair courses, I would still be in the dark. Antique clock collecting and repair is an addiction, a sweet addiction, like delicious dark chocolate!

@@jimboyer5382 I found your name online that belongs to a clock master for 22 years in North Texas. Is this you? Should be plenty of experience. Did you happened to work with vintage clocks that had a radium painted numerals on the dials?
