His political documentaries have never been surpassed, as far as I am concerned. Recently saw the trilogy he made about Tony Blair, marvellous. Same goes for several of the others, e.g. those dedicated to the Foreign Office, Treasury, Home Office, Enoch Powell, Ted Heath and so forth. And he has this magnificent voice, which is such a pleasure to listen to.
Just stumbled upon this interview. What a great piece; Michael's interviews are so enjoyable to watch. Keep watching Alan Clark and Ted Heath over and over. Top quality!!
I must have watched his Denis Healey film about 20 times along with all his others - incredibly moving and insightful documentary. He always gives compelling insights into our politicians. I'd love to see him do some more.

Top notch. His trilogy about the Great Offices of State is a must.
I never get bored of Michael Cockerell documentaries

The low grade current crop of politicians would not justify making such films today.
What bliss, Dale and Cockerell, fabulous interview and a few nuggets I’ve not heard before
A captivating and mesmerising interview. Thanks Iain.
