She placed second in the Slovenian national final in 2016, not eurovision it self (just like as in 2017 and 2019).
She is an opera singer.
Raiven performed three times at the Slovenian selection for Eurovision, the televoting did not favor her, so the national television decided to select her internally and send her to Eurovision.
Veronika Deseniška (1380 - 1425) is a real character from history, she was accused of witchcraft and was drowned. As far as I'm concerned, Raiven translated this story into lyrics very poorly, too abstract and at times pointless, the only part that is ok is the verse "I am, you are, Veronika", this part of the lyrics is the idea of Bojan Cvjetičanin, the singer of Joker Out , last year's Slovenian Eurovision representatives. At first, Raiven found this verse too easy, but then she accepted it. The song is not melodic enough for Eurovision, but I am sure that vocally Raiven will show that she is a really good singer.
It's a shame that we haven't been able to hear it or, at least, vocalize it. She has a good voice and I like that she sings in her language, but I lack something to be able to give an opinion.
