I’m 71 and would love to have a driving experience like that! I’ve never heard of anything like that here in the states. They may have them but I’ve just never heard of them. Oh such fun. molly murphy I don’t know where you live but there’s a couple in California. I knew somebody who did the Richard Petty NASCAR race track in Southern California it was a long time ago but all I remember was it was very very very expensive but you got to drive a real NASCAR on the track.

molly murphy I have actually been to Wausau, a million years ago. I had a cousin who used to live there, they retired to a senior Sun City community in Texas. It was a long time ago and I don’t remember much about it other than it was extremely white and they thought Taco Bell was Mexican food and it was extra to have lettuce and tomato on a burger because that was “California style“. 😂

Just teasing my upper Midwest friends but the weather doesn’t bother me, in fact there is nothing quite living up here in the Fall. But being from Georgia and living there and eating southern food all my life until I was 49, you just can’t quite get anything like it here. I sure miss that part. But I do not miss that hot weather. Even growing up there I never liked the summer.

Love your family/son stories. I live in the states and we had had drive in movies for decades. It was a fun way to spend a Saturday evening for me and my husband, as the kids would fall asleep in the back of the vehicle. Great family fun! Stay safe and well. Love these foldout booklets.

We have a drive-in that's actually from the 50's. We have pickup trucks so we back in, set the lawn chairs up in the bed of the truck to watch the movie. Grandkids love it!! My husband asked me to marry him at a drive-in 45 years ago. Very fond memories.

I see I'm three years late in seeing your video! I am more listening to your tales/adventures. You sound like a fantastic mom. I saw one of your American viewers, well, at least two... mentioned going to the theatres. I grew up in the American South and love Drive-Ins. We went when we were little, and I was in my jammies, too! There was a playground down front for the children. My parents liked to save money, and I remember paper grocery sacks full of popcorn that was popped on the stove, of course! I like to joke that I never did see the end of Dr. Zhivago. One brother took me, as a teen, to see American Werewolf in London. Showing my age there! I and another brother had camped through the UK with our folks the Summer that Elvis died, and visited spots for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. I sat up with two schoolgirls in the bath house listening to an Elvis tribute that night in August when he passed. Great memories. My mom was an enthusiastic Anglophile! There are still some Drive-Ins here, but our closest one is maybe 40 minutes to an hour away. We went to the flea market that they hold on Saturdays once. Trying to boost their profit margin you know. There were shockingly few vendors. I, too, am early to bed. The offerings of the films are not necessarily my favorites, and the newer films are always last in the Double or Triple Features. I have adored listening to your stories, and I am checking out more of your Mass Making efforts. I'll get some ideas while enjoying your accent while you weave your tales. Sounds like your family had a lovely day on your sons birthday. We used to have drive in theater all over the state's, but sorry to say, no longer. There has been talk of reopening a few due to the pandemic, but I haven't seen or heard of any here in Washington State. These foldout booklets are really beautiful. I love the little bird one. I'm defiantly going to have to make some of these. When I get my crafting supplies in packed. Don't worry about your off days. I have them too and also have migraines that I need to sleep off. My Dr has just given me something to take daily trying to prevent them. Hopefully it will work given time as I'm just recovering from one. Have a good day and happy crafting to you.

Those are absolutely beautiful. I must try them. I live in Canada and it's been years since I have been to a drive-in. We went to the race tracks a few times when I was a kid and think it would be a rush to go around the track at that speed. Sounds like more than a fabulous b.day. I live in Devon and there are quite a few new Drive in movies now, I think its growing in popularity as it is easy for everyone to social distance, or be in bubbles. I love that they show 'vintage' movies! x

I honestly don't remember having ever gone to one. I need to put it on my bucket list and find one, but staying up that late is hard for me too. Lol. Totally looking for a driving experience!! Great idea for the booklet! About the Drive-in Theaters...there have been a few still operating, but extremely minimal. Very rare, actually. After Covid hit, I saw a report of a few opening up. Not the old drive-ins, but someone put up an outdoor screen and you could listen via phone. More like in an existing parking lot. Not sure if it will stay open or not or even where it is. Love the driving experience your son did. I'll have to see if that is offered here in the USA. Thanks again for this video!
Tina, I absolutely loved hearing about your wonderful day. What a great way to celebrate a birthday for a young man. Yes, the US does still have some drive in movie theaters. But, they are not common anymore. Most of them have been removed and structures built in their place. It's open land and it most Drive-ins were in the middle of communities, which is prime land for shopping malls and the like. When I was a kid, they were still plentiful and my parents took me and my sister lots of times. I LOVE this scrapbook! It is such a great addition to a journal or as a Happy Mail item! I love these, I made one when you did the tutorial, but I plan to make more with the mass makes. Beautifully done! 🌼🌿🌼 when I was a young girl we had drive in movies but they have closed most of them but there are still a few in smaller towns, not as fun as yours sounds.
Laurette Chandler There’s a six screen drive-in movie up in Sacramento if you want to drive two and a half hours to go to the movie. It’s funny because it’s right by the freeway so if you’re coming down the freeway from the mountains into town at night it’s a very distracting to be watching these big movies right in front of you practically while wizzing along at 60 mph.
@@shabbydabbydoodah I live near Nottingham ikea they had a drive in cinema last year on the car park. Was here for a few weeks I didn't manage to get tickets though it had all sold out before I knew about it
Sounds like your day / the night out was amazing because like you say we are a little reserved, but your drive in movie well we have nothing like that in my part of England, but what a wonderful time for you, hubby says he knows where the goodword(spelling) is, but I have no idea. And to top your lovely time, we get to see you make something wonderful Thank you, we live near a beach, but because the children are grown up we don’t ever go there nor do the amazing camping we did when they were young. Really fun video! While we still may have a few drive-ins left here in the states, they are not very common these days. They take a lot of land, which is hard to come by (and expensive) in large cities. I have a feeling they will be making a comeback soon though.

Hi. I just watched your video. Thanks heaps. I live in North Queensland Australia. You mentioned that your 6yr old daughter loves jokes. I took my 10 year old son and 25 year old daughter for an overnight trip to Magnetic Island and stayed in a backpacker resort. We didnt take technology except mobile phone. In bed by 7pm as it was very dark and my son made up some jokes that sort of didnt make sense but then i got the idea and googled kids jokes and riddles and i would ask these and my kids would have to try to guess the answers. We had so much fun bonding away from the busy day to day life back at home. If you cant get reception you could print a whole heap out. Happy camping.

The drive in movies here in the US are almost all gone now. They were super popular back in like the 50s I know. From what I understand it was just concessions and the movie. The other "entertainment" was in the car, and clearly an, umm, adult activity, lol. A few popped up during the worst of the pandemic.
When I watch you using your scraps, I'm like oh that's so pretty, and I've not seen that paper before what kit is that from, I end up with a etsy basket full even though I have loads of your kits already, your designs are just so beautiful I need them all. X

I’m a big chicken about a lot of things but speed I like. Is there a reason you don’t put the liner bits in before you to glue down the long seam? I was thinking that’s what I would do as it would seem easier, but I was trying to figure out if there was a reason that you didn’t do that but I couldn’t figure it out. Maybe when I try it and screw it up I’ll find out why.

Your entire weekend sounds absolutely perfect. My grandson would love that driving experience. I’ve not heard of one locally but I’m going to look into it. Sounds like your family had a lovely day on your sons birthday. We used to have drive in theater all over the state's, but sorry to say, no longer. There has been talk of reopening a few due to the pandemic, but I haven't seen or heard of any here in Washington State.
These foldout booklets are really beautiful. I love the little bird one. I'm defiantly going to have to make some of these. When I get my crafting supplies in packed.
Don't worry about your off days. I have them too and also have migraines that I need to sleep off. My Dr has just given me something to take daily trying to prevent them. Hopefully it will work given time as I'm just recovering from one. Have a good day and happy crafting to you.

About the drive-in theaters, when I was young that was a big thing here in the states not so much anymore. It makes me sad, so many memories that I won’t be able experience with my grandchildren.

Those are absolutely beautiful. I must try them. I live in Canada and it's been years since I have been to a drive-in. We went to the race tracks a few times when I was a kid and think it would be a rush to go around the track at that speed. Sounds like more than a fabulous b.day. Happy birthday to your son! Also, I think all the drive in movie theaters in America were big in the 50s but there aren't very many of them still around now. I honestly don't remember having ever gone to one. I need to put it on my bucket list and find one, but staying up that late is hard for me too. Lol. Totally looking for a driving experience!! What a GREAT GREAT birthday idea for a teenage boy. My son just turned 16 and he would love something like that.

Great idea for the booklet! About the Drive-in Theaters...there have been a few still operating, but extremely minimal. Very rare, actually. After Covid hit, I saw a report of a few opening up. Not the old drive-ins, but someone put up an outdoor screen and you could listen via phone. More like in an existing parking lot. Not sure if it will stay open or not or even where it is. Love the driving experience your son did. I'll have to see if that is offered here in the USA. Thanks again for this video!

Yes, the US does still have some drive in movie theaters. But, they are not common anymore. Most of them have been removed and structures built in their place. It's open land and it most Drive-ins were in the middle of communities, which is prime land for shopping malls and the like. When I was a kid, they were still plentiful and my parents took me and my sister lots of times.
I LOVE this scrapbook! It is such a great addition to a journal or as a Happy Mail item! I love the papers you used, too. Thank you for showing us how to make this .I will have a look at the video as well, so thank you for that link!

I love these, I made one when you did the tutorial, but I plan to make more with the mass makes. Beautifully done! 🌼🌿🌼 when I was a young girl we had drive in movies but they have closed most of them but there are still a few in smaller towns, not as fun as yours sounds.

Laurette Chandler There’s a six screen drive-in movie up in Sacramento if you want to drive two and a half hours to go to the movie. It’s funny because it’s right by the freeway so if you’re coming down the freeway from the mountains into town at night it’s a very distracting to be watching these big movies right in front of you practically while wizzing along at 60 mph.

Sounds like your day / the night out was amazing because like you say we are a little reserved, but your drive in movie well we have nothing like that in my part of England, but what a wonderful time for you, hubby says he knows where the goodword(spelling) is, but I have no idea. And to top your lovely time, we get to see you make something wonderful Thank you, we live near a beach, but because the children are grown up we don’t ever go there nor do the amazing camping we did when they were young. But sounds like you all had a blast.xx😁🧡❤️

Really fun video! While we still may have a few drive-ins left here in the states, they are not very common these days. They take a lot of land, which is hard to come by (and expensive) in large cities. I have a feeling they will be making a comeback soon though.

Hi. I just watched your video. Thanks heaps. I live in North Queensland Australia. You mentioned that your 6yr old daughter loves jokes. I took my 10 year old son and 25 year old daughter for an overnight trip to Magnetic Island and stayed in a backpacker resort. We didnt take technology except mobile phone. In bed by 7pm as it was very dark and my son made up some jokes that sort of didnt make sense but then i got the idea and googled kids jokes and riddles and i would ask these and my kids would have to try to guess the answers. We had so much fun bonding away from the busy day to day life back at home. If you cant get reception you could print a whole heap out. Happy camping.

These booklets are great. What kits did the papers from? Especially the first one and the Roses one?
The drive in movies here in the US are almost all gone now. They were super popular back in like the 50s I know. From what I understand it was just concessions and the movie. The other "entertainment" was in the car, and clearly an, umm, adult activity, lol. A few popped up during the worst of the pandemic.
When I watch you using your scraps, I'm like oh that's so pretty, and I've not seen that paper before what kit is that from, I end up with a etsy basket full even though I have loads of your kits already, your designs are just so beautiful I need them all. X

Double sided paper would be ideal. That, or line the inside before glueing the outside?
What a cute project, I’m going to have to try this. Boy, you guys sure did have a lot of fun all in one day, I would love to go around the track in a race car. I’m a big chicken about a lot of things but speed I like. Is there a reason you don’t put the liner bits in before you to glue down the long seam? I was thinking that’s what I would do as it would seem easier, but I was trying to figure out if there was a reason that you didn’t do that but I couldn’t figure it out. Maybe when I try it and screw it up I’ll find out why.

First of all, that is just a fantastic envelope! Wow on your choice of papers. Was the first printable one of yours? Can you tell us where the paper came from? Your entire weekend sounds absolutely perfect. My grandson would love that driving experience. I’ve not heard of one locally but I’m going to look into it. There used to be 9 drive-in movies in our area when my kids were young and we went all the time. It was always a great family time. Today there is one left..so sad. Oh that is sad Kathryn about those movie theatres closing. Sometimes the world changing is not a good thing.
