GENERAL
Rankings correct at time of recording.
This was a keeper for me because the theme is so well integrated. I think cubitos is better but i will be playing this with the kids just for the educational value.
Makes me a bit sad it didn't hit as I love the theme, and I really love time tracks.
I appreciate the review. Thanks, Dan!
Sorry to hear it didn't click.
From my mega bias (I worked on dev), one pushback pov (that makes me curious if you said how many plays?) is, *for sure* the game doesn't want to inherently reward you for flying for no reason: flying intentionally isn't a central automatic action to generate progress (Quacks). Flying is supposed to be a choice w/ opportunity costs and risks and it's most useful at certain times (fame, cup, problem discovery) or certain strats (conservative experience / practice-makes-perfect). (Also hard disagree on calling Edith strictly worse than Katharine..)
Interesting. I've definitely approached the game with the mindset of flying as much as possible with the hope of nudging my score forward. It paid off when the other players had that mindset too. Next time I'll follow your advice and do it more sparingly. I suppose I took any opportunity I could to fly when I knew my deck had the potential for a long flight rather than the likelihood
I'm curious if you have tied and enjoyed Brew Crafters? I love Brew Crafters so it's made me curious if I would like newer games by the same designers, like this one and Fromage.
I've not played Brew Crafters unfortunately
“Didn’t stick the landing”. Haha good one. This was a pass for me too when I first saw it reviewed a year or two ago.
Don’t rely too much on reviews as many games appeal to different audiences.. you really need to experiment yourself
"Plane Crash" seems more of an apt name then, by the sounds of it.
I think you’re practically the only content creator that didn’t enjoy this.
