Peak era. Great footage. So lucky to have been part of it. Never went here but was out in Birmingham every week between 94-98 (Tin Tins, Steering Wheel, Wobble). Was mad for Sundissential years later but mid-90’s were amazing. Tunes, girls, drugs. 🎉 Everybody dancing in their own zone having the nights of their lives.
The entire UK had been taken over by ecstacy, speed, LSD and love. The absolute best of times. And I was blessed by God himself that I was there. Cheers chief, It was a helluva ride.
Mate, this is a cheesy nightclub in a seaside town. It’s a long long way from any rave scene. Also it’s 1997 which is a good 4 years after the race scene peaked.

Slag central last stop of the night, if you didn't pull in this place then you never would ! Always used to end up here then walk to the Bridge Cafe afterwards for a full english with 11 rounds of toast.
Better than today's generation, but by 1997 the rave scene was dead, and so was the original spirit of PLUR. Replaced by pisshead's and the start of the mobile phone generation. 87-93 was the raving scene.
Great tunes and fairly good atmosphere, but this was the beginning of the end of the 90s rave scene, can tell by the amount of beer drinkers and chequered shirts. A lot of people high too, which makes it still pretty dancy, but the transition from predominantly clubbing on E's to alcohol was the death of the scene. Looks good compared to what we have now, but seeing places like this at that time made me sad for the future.
Yep, aggred - it went from outside Barns, country lanes, to big warehouses and giant fields - then to clubs around 96 - from then onwards, more drink meant more aggro and cocaine, which overtook the pills (which were crap by then anyway, cheap and filled with garbage). The best time for clubs was the early 2000's for a few years anyway, the rave scene was dead and it was all clubs. From 2005, dead. But, thats when Labour started inviting the 3rd world into the UK, the beginning of the end for pubs, clubs etc...

"Charlie and Ket" underpinned the rave/club scene in 1997 - had done since mid 90s. Whatever people thought they were swallowing, genuine MDMA was fairly rare in 1997.

I'm still salty I just missed the cutoff for 90's raves and clubs. That was humanity's peak and nothing will ever change my mind about that.
