The barefoot and minimalist market is crazy. There are a ton of options. Lems are my favorites, but I also own Xero, Feelgrounds, Bohempia, and Vivobarefoot

I got a pair of the splay shoes for my spring and summer shoes. Now I'm looking at getting a pair of lems boulder summit boots for autumn and winter to transition from my blunstones I used to find them super comfortable but now after wearing barefoot shoes for 3months I'm starting to notice how they kind of squeeze my toes and while not painful it is fairly uncomfortable for the first 10mins of wearing them

I recently switched from Salomon's to Altra's (Superior 4,5) for my hiking - zero drop/wide toebox and I'm blown away by them. After days of hiking I have no pain, just normal ache thats evenly spread around the foot and subsides with a nights rest. No pain in my knees or back or in sore "spots" like before. Total convert on this design! Thanks for the video, these will be my off-trail shoe this winter.

Lems just came out with a version of the boulder boots for the more hardcore hiker called the boulder summit I looking to order those as I love the outdoors and like to hike every chance I get

I own a pair of Xero Prio and BearFoot Ursus HT. And. Doing everything in them. From every day stuff to working out. I will never go back to regular shoes again. Minimalist/barefoot shoes are just so comfortable and natural feeling, i no longer have aches and pains anywhere on my legs or back. And… These look like my next pair. Can’t wait

Useful information. Could you find a place to film where no one is playing the guitar?

I could do with more big toe space - and based on Lems own diagram, honestly, I'd say a lot of us could, it's just we're conditioned not to use 'the thumb of the foot' in its truly optimal, fully splayed-out state. But other than that, I'm very glad of my Boulder Boots. I only wear minimalist shoes, but these have enough sole to support my foot when cycling. At the same time, for light hikes like the one I did on sand and pebbles today, they provide a great synthesis of comfort and ground feel. Not very grippy, though, and I did miss that on my last hike where I had to do more walking up and down hills.

I agree. My left foot is kind of weak and I can’t push the big toe very much farther than straight, but my right foot spread like a mofo. The big toe on my right foot goes way passed straight, so the lems toebox isn’t enough for me

@@paddywiggle The only shoes I know of that really give my big toes enough space are Softstar Primal models like their Sawyers, which are the ones I wear. Good shoes, a little expensive, but worth it I'd say. Interested in any others you'd like to mention.
Can I also recommend Emily Splichal's book 'Barefoot Strong'? Essential reading for those of us who recognise that our feet need strengthening. I wish I'd had it nearly a decade ago when I first started wearing barefoot shoes.

i don't think the wide toe box is that ugly. even if i thought it made the lem's fugly i'd still buy em' for the health benefit. long term foot health is a must in any business.

These are totally my favorite boot. But, now, a year later, it's time to get Lems new versions. Then, they'll probably become my new favorite boots.

How warm are they? I'm in Southern California and worried they may be too warm with the polyester lining and full-grain leather upper.

I fell for Lems advertising, i thought lems would have solved my problem for wide toe box footwear and was sadly mistaken. Proper fit in length, but my foot felt squished in width.
Tried the primal 2 and there was weird feeling like something stuck on sole under my metatarsals and felt uneven on a flat surface. The shoe was still stretched out to max...wouldnt last long.
Guess ill just have to stick with moccasins.

Lems Chelsea boots have a wider toebox than the Boulder boot, maybe they would fit You ?

Did you get them? I have a wide foot and these mostly work for me, though I'd love a wider version with more big toe space. The trick is to get at least a half size bigger than your regular size, maybe even a whole size bigger if you want to wear them with thick socks.

    • @mamabear9389
      @mamabear9389 2 роки тому

@@JohnMoseley I did not get them. I have been considering the Freet Ibex instead. Freet shoes fit me well. The Ibex also has better tread. I do love the look of the Boulder boot though. However, the Ibex also looks nice. I am told to size up in the Ibex especially to allow for thicker socks. Thanks for asking.

@@mamabear9389 Ah, it's you! Sorry, didn't notice I was replying to you again. Yes, for sure, the Boulder Boots aren't great on tread. For any hike with a bit of uphilll and mud, you're going to want more for sure.
