This is a special band, almost everything they've released has been top notch. I can't wait to hear this album, and looking forward to your discography ranking!
Voivod is awesome. Dimension Hatross, Nothingface and The Outer Limits are my favorites from them. I hope one day I’ll get a chance to see them live. I did see Death Angel, Kreator, and Sepultura live a month or two ago though. Got to meet all three of them and get pictures with them too.
The Jason Newstead era had a ton of really wild and epic stuff. They should have chosen something like The Multiverse IMO. They didn’t need to go with such a straightforward rock song.
'm a huge fan of their first 3 albums. War and Pain, RRROOOAAAARRR, and their best album, Killing Technology. They kinda lost me after KT. It got kinda strange aft KT. Not saying it was bad, but man I loved the Space Thrash portion on Voivod's career. And I'd even put Phobos as one of their best albums. Eric Forrester crushed it on that one. So fucking heavy Phobos was. But I'll check this out. Thanks M&M
I love Angel Rat and Outer Limits. Excellent albums. One day, I need to give the Eric Forrest albums another chance. I'm very curious how these new recordings sound.
Phobos is one of their best album IMO. To me it's the (even more) dystopian concept sequel to Dimension Hatross. You can hear some of the early Phobos ambience in DH's Cosmic Drama. Dont sleep on this one.
@@ThePatcrissa second vote for Phobos. It’s by far the scariest sounding record VoiVod has done and is easily on par with anything else the band has done.
It's great that Voivod has dedicated an album to 1990s German Death Metal band Morgoth. Hopefully more people will buy Morgoth albums now. Never realized that they were such huge fans of Morgoth

Great video. Love this CD. The album Angel Rat is my favorite Voivod album.
Great episode and the video for Morgoth tales is insane
Awesome album happy 40th Anniversary Voivod

Voivod is great live. Saw em once with Napalm Death and another time with Yob. Definitely don't miss out if they show up in town.

I’m about to go see them this weekend \m/
Hey I will do it for you when I see them in Jonquiere in August!! :)
Dude. I am so psyched for this. I'm 50 yrs old and between the Cavalera remakes and this one I'm in old(metal)head heaven! I trust your rating!
I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO VOIVOD SINCE THE MID EIGHTIES AND THEY NEVER GET STALE. I AGREE, 4/5!!!
Saw them 3 times on the 40th anniversary tour, what an amazing set list covering every era

They're all solid, just not on par with Killing Technology or Nothingface... though to be fair, thats a difficult task lmao
Those 2 albums kinda feel like a side project to me but I still think they're awesome

Just got into Voivod last year after sooooo many years of not getting them, so I'm excited to hear this.
I feel so dumb not knowing that they did 2 albums without snake😮
Are Voivod re recording their own material, or Morgoth songs???
Voivod has become a Tech Death Metal band ,but they started as a more straight ahead Death Metal band like early Death and Possessed
They’re not tech death and never played death metal
At this point Voivod could fart into a microphone and id buy the album.
All hail Voivod!
Saw voivod live in may. They were great
...I literally JUST opened UA-cam 🤣 Okey let's watch
Haha same here 😂
Same😂
OH SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!
Ayyy
don't you dare touching my Voiv... oh... ok, ok! excellent! I like you more now!
Voivod is always safe here on The Metal Meltdown
