Great video, this is one of my favourite approaches in flight simulator. I had the opportunity to visit Split this past summer and spent a day at Kasjuni Beach, which is conveniently right underneath this approach. It was a fantastic day at the beach made even better watching the airliners arrive overhead.
You've got to try one yourself, they're really helpful! My Company uses some custom made ones in Heraklion and it's incredible how much easier things get.
Hi Ethan, I'll have a video with the RNP approach there up soon, but I'm still looking into some of those "circlings" (or rather: Orbiting close to the field) approaches. I just didn't get around investing enough time to find out what's actually commonly done down in Queenstown yet. Might have to do some reading up soon!
So are the procedures for this approach significantly different from something like the KDCA River Visual/RNAV 19 (great video on that one also btw)? Where there is an RNAV approach published AND a separate visual procedure that essentially follows the RNAV track.
Thanks for your great video's. Question about this Rnav approach: Is it allowed to turn off the autopilot/throttle later (A while after the missed approach point)?
@@A330Driver i think you misundestand me. I mean turn a/t off LATER. In the video you turn a/t off at the MAP at 2000 feet and than make the left turn manually. My question is can you leave the a/t on after the MAP and make a big piece of the left turn with the a/t on.
Hi Michael, Fly this arrival down to the minimum circling altitude (circle to land minima), then disconnect the AP and recycle the FDs and fly visually down to your landing runway. Once at the circling minima the RNAV basically becomes a visual approach and you'll have to continue the good old style flying visually.
How come backtracking turns at the end of the runway are always mainly a left then a right all the way around? In some planes only the captains side have a tiller but turning 180 degrees to the right creates poor visibility because the entire plane is in the way from the captains seat.
Please note that this video was filmed with an early beta version of this aircraft and may not be representative of the current state of the project!
I assume that explains the reversers never stowing?
Did this app today didn’t look at the charts as I should but was able to get the landing done and it’s now one of my favorites app

Dang! That touchdown was about perfect. Nice flying
Im from Split and your approach looks scary low 🥶, especially flying low over sea and seeing the Kozijak hill towering..
Spectacular! Love your videos. Great training materials. Thanks.
Nice approach, thank you Captain!
My pleasure!
Can't wait for the 900ER! Great flying
Thanks for your video. RNAV Visual was actually new to me. Great work!

I use RNAV alot I mainly use the ILS during bad conditions
I really like these series of dangerous approaches. Lately I am having fun with SKMD Medellin, also very tricky. Especially for RWY 02
Thanks, I'll have a look at Medellin!
Many thanks, Emi. Very clear now 😎
Great!
Excellent tutorial, thank you!
Thank you so much for the support mad sib, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful approach and landing.
Indeed it is! Thank you so much!
Have you done the Queenstown approach in New Zealand before? Would love to see that from you. Great video as always.

how would pilots do an approach into runway 23 in split at night because are all the approaches only allowed during the day , if im not mistaken.

Great work, great job, great video as always. Thank you.
Thank you so much! Not only for your nice words, but also for your support!
Great video!
Thanks for the visit
MHTG rnav RW 02, it has visual, but chart doesn't say visual. Why is that? Could you try that approach is very challenging.
Thanks for your great video's. Question about this Rnav approach: Is it allowed to turn off the autopilot/throttle later (A while after the missed approach point)?
You can fly any approach except for autolands manually. In the sim I simply find it easier to have the A/T help you out.

Thank you so much for the support Michael! Let me look into the arrival you recommended and I'll get back to you.
Nice approach and landing cpt. Which scenery are you using in this video? I'm sure it is not Orbx.
Thanks Luciano! It's ORBX Split indeed!
Great detailed instructions. Nice to add Timelapse also. How would you fly the RNAV 15 @KBUR?

Hello, in the last part, do you handle the trust by hand? because its very stable at 149knts.
Hi, yes, I did. You can see it on the FMA in the rightmost column. If it's blank it means thrust is controlled manually.
@@A330Driver Thank you! Your videos are very good to learn from.
Nice video, could you do a video going through your graphics settings for MSFS?
Great video as usual sir! How do reduce stutters so well? I have high end PC but can't get rid of stutters
Thanks! Switching to DLSS has really helped to reduce stutters.
@@A330Driver oh ok but I guess cockpit textures not great

Probably because the captain can better judge how close they are to the edge of the runway before turning if he is the one turning
That's the recommended technique for turning Boeing airliners anyway, probably Airbus is the same.
The turnpads simply follow those.
@@tomstravels520 yeah, that makes sense.
I have become very decent at the 737 could you maybe do a video on flap placement when landing I don't think I get it exactly right.
Something like this? ua-cam.com/video/QFHBAoIOQ40/v-deo.html
Could you share yoke sensitivity for nest 737 feeling?
Sure: All neutral, no changes done.
I did a video on the topic a while back, I'm on my phone right now, but try to search for that vid.
@@A330Driver Thanks, I watched it but Ithought maybe you have changed something after that time
