    Please note that this video was filmed with an early beta version of this aircraft and may not be representative of the current state of the project!

      I assume that explains the reversers never stowing?

    Great video, this is one of my favourite approaches in flight simulator. I had the opportunity to visit Split this past summer and spent a day at Kasjuni Beach, which is conveniently right underneath this approach. It was a fantastic day at the beach made even better watching the airliners arrive overhead.

    Im from Split and your approach looks scary low 🥶, especially flying low over sea and seeing the Kozijak hill towering..

      You've got to try one yourself, they're really helpful! My Company uses some custom made ones in Heraklion and it's incredible how much easier things get.

      Hi Ethan,
      I'll have a video with the RNP approach there up soon, but I'm still looking into some of those "circlings" (or rather: Orbiting close to the field) approaches. I just didn't get around investing enough time to find out what's actually commonly done down in Queenstown yet. Might have to do some reading up soon!

    how would pilots do an approach into runway 23 in split at night because are all the approaches only allowed during the day , if im not mistaken.

    So are the procedures for this approach significantly different from something like the KDCA River Visual/RNAV 19 (great video on that one also btw)? Where there is an RNAV approach published AND a separate visual procedure that essentially follows the RNAV track.

    MHTG rnav RW 02, it has visual, but chart doesn't say visual. Why is that? Could you try that approach is very challenging.

    Thanks for your great video's. Question about this Rnav approach: Is it allowed to turn off the autopilot/throttle later (A while after the missed approach point)?

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Рік тому

      You can fly any approach except for autolands manually. In the sim I simply find it easier to have the A/T help you out.

    • @guidoverhagen1
      @guidoverhagen1 Рік тому

      @@A330Driver i think you misundestand me. I mean turn a/t off LATER. In the video you turn a/t off at the MAP at 2000 feet and than make the left turn manually. My question is can you leave the a/t on after the MAP and make a big piece of the left turn with the a/t on.

    Great detailed instructions. Nice to add Timelapse also. How would you fly the RNAV 15 @KBUR?

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Рік тому +1

      Hi Michael,
      Fly this arrival down to the minimum circling altitude (circle to land minima), then disconnect the AP and recycle the FDs and fly visually down to your landing runway. Once at the circling minima the RNAV basically becomes a visual approach and you'll have to continue the good old style flying visually.

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Рік тому +1

      Hi, yes, I did. You can see it on the FMA in the rightmost column. If it's blank it means thrust is controlled manually.

    How come backtracking turns at the end of the runway are always mainly a left then a right all the way around? In some planes only the captains side have a tiller but turning 180 degrees to the right creates poor visibility because the entire plane is in the way from the captains seat.

    • @tomstravels520
      @tomstravels520 Рік тому

      Probably because the captain can better judge how close they are to the edge of the runway before turning if he is the one turning

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Рік тому

      That's the recommended technique for turning Boeing airliners anyway, probably Airbus is the same.
      The turnpads simply follow those.
