If you're talking about Ha-Seong Kim, you've got to mention his 22 stolen bases in 122 games in 2024 and his 38 stolen bases in 152 games in 2023. During the past three seasons, the highest the Blue Jays have ranked as a team in stolen bases is 21st. The running game advances runners, puts pressure on the opposing pitcher and defense, and creates gaps for hitters to punch balls through. Whether the Jays go after Kim or not, I'd like to see them up their running game.
Thank you so much you guys keep it up from braylen and brooke
46:18 - Was the legendary baseball name "Joe Garagiola" butchered here? Joe Garagiola Sr. was a legendary player and sportscaster, and is in the Hall of Fame for both.
I agree with the comment about not having Springer as leadoff hitter anymore, but I do have to point out that Springer led the team in stolen bases in 2024. It's horrible that the team's stolen base leader had just 16, however.
Minor moves dont really show Vlad or Bo that your looking at long term success..It honestly reaks of bargain harolds shopping all while trying to pull the hood over the eyes of the fans at the same time. So as much as they could make the playoffs in 2025 easily with smaller moves, i still dont see them serious and after 2025 we are pretty much done. Again id rather rebuild now if we arent signing Vlad. Rogers prolly dont like that option due to the attendance they will get but its a far better move then trying to just build a team that can sneak into the playoffs any year. And really it kinda feels like that is something Shatkins would do.
Soto....So i would prefer we didnt offer the most money. Cause if we do...and he turns it down...then the entire country is gonna get an eye opener that Canada isnt a preferred destination. And I just see that going very poorly for all parties involved...Cause basically everyone would then know we really dont matter and winning it all is gonna take a miracle considering that. So please Jays, DO NOT be the top offer; just let him go and keep the dilusions alive for the country lol.
Great episode as always guys
"Bargain Harolds" omg... there's a blast from the past!
Zero % chance of playoffs in 2025. What have you been watching?
@@DepthFromAbove nah starting pitching is good, Vlad bo springer Kirk could have good years , they could sign a couple smaller free agents. There is a path to sneaking into the playoffs but they still will go out first round. Personally I’m ready to embrace the tear down and rebuild.
Positives list: Vlad, starters are solid, however as far as I can tell, they're all righties and aging, at least Manoah's getting in shape, scrooge mcDuck secret vault, center field D is great, Barger, Bowden, looking good.
Negatives: Springer contract, zero bullpen, Bo should be at 2nd, and had some sort of Manoah-ish quarter life crisis, what happened to Wagner? Don't get me started on Kirk, but whatever its a catcher, but seriously, what the hell was Kirk, Manoah, and Espinal doing in an all-star game? Was their decline and springer's just the roids wearing off?
Let's say Shapiro decides to retire after the end of the 2025 season . Is he a hall of fame executive? I mean, he's been running baseball teams for .... 20 years ? 30 Years ? Zero World Series Rings !. Zero !. Yet , everyone treats him like he's some amazing executive!.
He's a guy , no more , no less .
I never even gave this a thought as a possibility, for the same reasons you mention.
I'm amazed that he's been employed as an executive this long, so perhaps that's his claim to fame?
@Dulcimerist longevity? Is it inertia ? . So , he's the Angel Hernandez of baseball executives. He's trying , he just SUCKS !!!!
Thank him for his service . BUY HIM OUT , and move on !
lol Mark “Inertia” Shapiro actually has a ring to it
I am still in favour of a full rebuild. I don't expect it. what I expect is a couple bad bandage signings and a last desperate shot at the playoffs. 2026 will be bleak.
They started rebuilding 2 off seasons ago, letting every free agent walk. Trading last year’s free agents at the deadline, & promoting the entire triple A roster who have proven to be average bench players. This fan base is apparently years behind what the jays have actually been doing.. which is a rebuild. They were never in on Ohtani.
I think u need to move vladdy if he doesn't sign u can't let him walk 😊
You need to sign Vladdy, full stop
I’m sorry, was looking forward to watch this episode, but not even seeing the SB that Kim would be. It only shows your miss understanding of the game.
Soto has won vladdy has not he's not where close to soto
Vlad is literally one of the best players in the league.
John here how much is it to blame Rogers. They are one of the wealthiest owners in MLB. So they could pay anything.
No they can’t… they’re a publicly traded company. Every dollar has to have a calculated return on it, they’re not free to spend all the cash they have.
@@JaysTalk89 Excellent point! Rogers Communications is also a utility company whose hands are further tied by Canadian utility regulations.
The Toronto Blue Jays are organized as a partnership within the corporate structure of Rogers Sports & Media, along with RSM's more than 50 radio stations, more than 65 community TV channels, 23 conventional and specialized television stations, podcasting, e-commerce, and more. This includes Sportsnet. Rogers' majority stake in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment might also be under the corporate structure of Rogers Sports & Media.
Didn't Soto win a world series with Washington vladdy has yet to win 1 playoff game
Vladdys two best years were seasons we missed the playoffs. Not sure if that’s fair to pin on him but it’s worth noting at least.
If you're saying Vladdy is the reason for Jays lack of playoff success, you're wrong. He has been the least of their problems.
@@EricTheMadviking no… it’s more of a he struggled by his standards during playoff pushes in ‘22 and ‘23 and he’s got a .136 avg in their wildcard series so far across 3 seasons. But he’s mashed in ‘21 and now ‘24 when there was no pressure on.
@@JaysTalk89 To be fair, those six wildcard games are a very small sample size. In 2021 there was the pressure to actually make the playoffs, and they fell one game short. In 2024 there was the pressure to carry the team's horrible offense.
@Dulcimerist Vladdy is a phenomenal ball player who has yet to put his best season together. He needs support from elsewhere on the team. Bo was a no-show in '24. We need him to shine along with Varsho, Springer and Kirk. They have the potential, just need to gel as a team and a bullpen capable of shutting teams down for 3 innings!
