Since all else had failed, I un-installed and re-installed the Arduino IDE, and suddenly all is OK (no "Cannot compile for board ___ error) - so I'm back to working on errors that I hope I can fix. Thanks for your video. I may have to call on you again!

Hey I really need help with an issue i have.
*So here is the problem.*
The sketches (doesn't matter which) I upload will go uploading till a 100%.
After this the sketch does NOT do anything at all.
I tried an empty sketch with just Serial.PrintIn("Working!") in the loop command, but no response.
I get no errors while uploading, it just goes to a 100% and says done uploading.
*My setup*
Adruino IDE
NodeMCU ESP8266-12E
All settings checked multiple times and changed but that did not solve the problem.
While uploading the light flashes till its done.
I hope ANYONE knows what this is or does. I got mine from China and i'll probably have to ask to get my money back.

I am facing Issue on compiling, I am using Arduino IDE 2.0.4 perviously Installed ESP8266 library which is not visable right now on list but installed in system because i saw this board and example.
when i try to upload code it try to find reset button and itry to push and hold that but upload failure....

I got the solution. Use lower version of Arduino ide 1.8.3 work for me.

I solved this. You need to run your .ino code with help of cmd commands ( for Windows) .. i use cmd command to run and it didn't showed me this error.

My program compiled, but with several statements commented out.
While trying to correct these errors, (removing the comment // one line at a time) when suddenly I got the message "Error compiling or board Generic 8266."
Your video seems well worked out, and I tried un-installing and re-installing the generic 8266 board - with no solution. Same message for generic or for NodeMCU.
What really bothers me is that I have made no changes in either hardware or software that would cause the board non-compile problem.
Any ideas??

Hi, At the end of uploading my sketch I get this error "the selected serial port does not exist or your board is not connected". I am trying to upload to a Node MCU. I can see Com 4 is selected in Arduino IDE and the port shows in device manager. In fact upload proceeds ok because i can see the led on Node MCU blink but at the end the LED also goes off. Can you please help with this?

Do one thing, make a very very brief tutorial on how to upload the code on ESP from very Basics, like from installing the boards and all that stuff... Most problems should get solved with that itself..
hey, I found this very interesting. but at the moment I stock with this simple setup:

SOLVED: just install the new version of python. In my case it worked.

i have resolved "A fatal error occurred: Failed to connect to ESP8266: Timed out waiting for packet header" error.
i uninstalled arduino IDE from Control Panel and also manually removed Arduino folder from Documents and Arduino15 Folder from C:->Users->Username->AppData...Then I reinstalled Arduino IDE. Then I added json link to Boards Url under File->Preferences....
Now The clicking point was now to add ESP8266 Board of version 1.4.1 only...
Because after detailed hit and trial, I found that it might be the Board Version issue..I just wanted to make LED blink on ESP8266 and it wont work on any later Board Versions of ESP8266...So I started by using ESP8266 Board Versions from 1.4.0 and eventually the code worked for ESP8266 Board Version 1.4.1.
Whuff...it took me a whole day to figure thing out. i guess i need to make a video for this :)
OR just place a 10uF capacitor between RESET and GND Pin of Arduino Uno

@@supreetp8020 try using 2.4.1 and do not forget to remove 2.5.2 file from C:\Users\Rasheed\AppData\Local\Arduino15\packages\esp8266\hardware\esp8266. let me know then
