This is a great video, thank you for posting. For about a year I have been programming WEMOS D1 MINI v 3.0.0 without any problems whatever. I am currently working on a project using DS18B20 temperature sensors which is progressing well. However I downloaded a programme from UA-cam which compiled OK but would not upload, giving the error you mentioned above. Following that I could not upload any programme, not even a BLINK sketch! I tried all the usual things, replaced the USB cable, tried a different board but nothing worked. I even re-installed the IDE. Then I tried your solution, grounding GPIO0 (D3 on the WEMOS) and it worked. Not just that once but I am back to normal uploading once again without having to do the grounding. Not sure on how this has worked but it has I am eternally grateful for the solution.

You are the best . I was unable to program my esp8266 from past 1 month but now i am able to program it.I was able to program it after conecting reset pin to ground.Now i have both esp8266 and node MCU working.
In my case when I upload the example Blink program, the LED blinks a few times before the IDE displays the error and when I disconnect the power and disconnect GPIO0 from GND and repower it just blinks one time, what could be the problem?

Some corrections: 1. To confirm driver installation, checking windows device manager for com Port existence should have been explained. 2. In NodeMcu board funtion of reset button is not explained. Some of the YT videos are asking user to press and release while Arduino is opening the com Port for communication.
for my case, the reason why I get the error is the circuit for Rx is connected to a voltage divider and the input is only from the USB cable. so I try to connect the esp8266 Rx pin directly to the Arduino Rx pin. and it solved

Hello, I am using Version 1.1.bin. Everything was ok since I tried to change the ssid from pwned to another name. In the same step I also changed the wifi Password and clicked "save". After that the new ssid is displayed, but when i try to connect, the new password is not accepted. I was very carefully when changing the password and i am sure that i wrote it correctly. Also the old password "deauther" doesnt work. I flashed the esp8266 again, hoping that would set everything to default, but after that it Shows the new given ssid again and no Login possible. Any ideas?
I want to test if the ESP8266-01, is working at first don't I? Your video is excellent if I want to upload a sketch to the ESP8266-01. But before I can even hope to be able to upload anything, I would think and am still trying to basically make a connection and communicate with AT commands . So far, I have not gotten one to work. If you can suggest a very basic instruction or video showing me how to do just that, I would be eternally grateful to you. There are so many conflicting statements out there, that I don't know which is correct.

When I upload my sketch on esp 8266 of IoT display on serial monitor it show WiFi not connected why
It will show 2-3 times and after that it will be Connected.
Still cross check the ssid name and password you have entered in the code
