Yeah, but the Egyptian (Mayar Sherif) grunt is totally different than the Russian (Aryna Sabalenika) grunt… Egyptian had like a kind of King Tut type feel to it. 😃

If you are grunting while your opponent is hitting the ball , that should be a hindrance warning or penalty.
You are correct! 👍 The rules are in place, you are not allowed to make noise once the ball is in your opponent’s half of the court.
Absolutely its so distracting for anyone especially the other player.

I can live with Sabalenka grunting because it seems more like a natural effort to put more energy into her shots. Sherif, however, is just yelling at her opponent and trying to distract them.

That title would have to go to Natalija Stevanovic. Makes Azarenka, Sabalenka, Sharapova and Sherif sound like mice in comparison.

She screams with all her might. My ears suffered for those 5 minutes. Who normally comes to her matches? The screams of Azarenka or Sabalenka are nothing compared to her. This is obviously intentionally making the game more difficult for the opponent. Chair umpire MUST react to such unsportsmanlike behavior - first a warning and if the player does not reduce the noise, point penalties and disqualifications. After a few punishments like that, no one would scream like that anymore.

I remember Coco being asked just recently about Sabalenka's grunting, and she said it was okay, it doesn't bother me because it's consistent and she doesn't do it on purpose. Now I understand what was Coco talking about....

Paolini have mental problems I saw same symtom like her match lost to Andreeva in Madrid. She didn't use any advantage to play at home nation. What a pity.

Fortuitous victory from Sherif. It was really an extraordinary performance from Egyptian tennis competitor. It was never easy to dispatch Paolini on home soil. It is a huge anticlimax and frustration for Jasmine Paolini. Wishing herself success in Roland Garros.
