A Detroit cop faced firing for Greektown punch-until Eastpointe gave him a badge

- Why did Eastpointe's police department hire an officer that Detroit was preparing to fire? Kairy Roberts was deemed "untruthful" by DPD, but he was still given a badge in Eastpointe.
Our Ross Jones continues his look into conduct unbecoming within the Detroit Police Department: www.wxyz.com/news/conduct-unb...
Wow. The chief of police is a joke.
A bad joke too.
John....so Many R .
He needs to be investigated...he is obviously a chief bad cops run to when they mess up.
They just can't get away, even a little bit, from the "criminal gang mentality" of no-snitching, cover-ups, war against the people, the citizens are the enemy, us against the world, etc. They're paid servants! Paid for by taxpayers!
He's just a gang leader covering for his gang.
An officer who resigns to avoid being fired or reprimanded, should automatically lose his police certification, PERMANENTLY! It's an admission of guilt!
Hmm well, I think he might be entitled to a trial. 🤷 Why a certification would be active PRIOR to a trial?
lots of things should happen when THEY break the laws but nothing ever does.
Perhaps an admission of guilt, perhaps not. I have seen many resign out of sheer frustration in many professions after an event, even if they've done nothing wrong (not saying this is the case here). We simply cannot assume it is an admission of guilt.
@@snowdogthewolf Video says it all!
He still shall and will be charged if not in a lesser court but the higher court. He will get away with nothing. For God's is the judge.
Leaving somebody with a concussion without medical care is basically leaving them to die.
I wish "everyone makes mistakes" was a usable defense when the citizens are being charged with similar crimes.
Laws for thee arent laws for mee. That applies only to the people in power not your average citizen
I'd argue that it's used consistently to defend black people when they aren't complying with officers during George Floyd scenarios. The, "Sure he shouldn't have resisted arrest and/or complied with the officers, but that use of force was excessive" defense has already been applied to this video. The crowd of people wouldn't leave when officers told them to and instead they chose to fight against the officers. When cops got more aggressive, then they call foul. It wouldn't have gotten to that point if they just left when asked. Literally, everyone made mistakes in this situation, including the cop that punched the guy.
@@junk1308 So unjustified force and lying is acceptable? When people lie and break the law it’s deplorable, but when cops do it, it was an honest mistake and they get to have another job without prosecution.
@@junk1308 Cops should be held to a higher standard. Period. This behavior is inexcusable from law enforcement. Period. Who fought against the officers? It was all verbal, the police are the ones who turned it physical and should be held accountable. PERIOD!

Any officer that resigns whilst under investigation, should immediately lose their Law Enforcement Certification.
"Investigation" is the wrong word. It's treated as a workplace discipline issue, it's not a criminal investigation or something.
Resigning is how they avoid the post certification that a termination would trigger.
Legislators can make it ALL happen
That should be deemed an admission of guilt, they should be denied their pension and should forfeit their police license forever.
In my state if you resign while under investigation you are punished in some way. I forgot if it’s a certificate thing or brady list.
"Insufficient evidence?". If that was me punching someone......that's all it takes to have me charged and convicted by any court!! SMH.
That isn't actually true. People fight in Baltimore all the time and rarely get convicted of it.
Standard operating procedures. Knock off cameras. To hide the assault
If the citizens took justice into their own hands. Then things will start to change.
Prosecutors who fail to hold police officers accountable for their crimes should be removed from office and have their license suspended permanently.
Agreed, not enough attention is brought to their doors when these things happen. They obviously lack the integrity to hold the office.
It really is a strange phenomenon that these prosecutors don't face more scrutiny for these blatant lies and biased enforcement of the law.
@@killbillfanaquiahora Just one week ago a new DA in Nashville (Kevin J Allen) dismissed 44 criminal charges against a former deputy sheriff (Daniel Wilkey) because he couldn't find a file. Thanks to this POS DA, nothing is stopping this dirtbag from becoming a cop again. Predator on the loose!
Remember, judges and prosecutors have a so-called absolute immunity and that is way more strong that a poor qualified imunity of a cop. You can stripp a cop from his immunity but never a prosecutor or a judge.

"I will not comment on that because it's still under investigation." This has become the top verbal excuse from government agencies all over the country when faced with a real question.
Typical police statement: "We have investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing. The officer acted within department policy" 😡😡😡😡
Assault on a police officer is a worse charge then assault on another person wait isn't a cop another person? Obviously not to them. The cops are such spoiled little cry baby brats that have to get their way for a job they do wrong. There's nothing in their policy that says just punching someone for no reason is part of the job. When in fact it's against the oath they took when sworn in as law enforcement. If ur law enforcement u lead by example u show everyone what the rules are to follow by ur actions and if u can't do that then ur a failure. If all else fails in life becomes a cop. A life size full grown adult tattle tale who never takes responsibility their own actions. The label needs to change as well enforcement has the word force in it not good that right there is the problem since it describes action in their job they represent. Any other terms to call them would require them to be attorneys and actually know the law since none of them actually know the law besides a few basic things. But theyll tell u ignorance of the law is no excuse but they'll arrest u cuz they feel like it then u have to work it out in court and nothing happens to them for doing their job wrong. Maybe people should start protesting Infront of the cops house on the sidewalk peacefully? Maybe the cop needs to learn his lesson another way the problem is finding people to teach those lessons whatever they maybe. Cuz they obviously don't learn them from their own job correcting their actions. Their actions should be treated no different then anyone else's. No one's job excuses them. People that have fake power over them protecting them from their wrong doing are weak minded whimps who have been brainwashed into believing that everyone's against them. Well ya everyone's against when u act like POS all the time then ur arresting others for acting the same way u do. Stupid a$$ cops

It is the officers sworn duty to take posession of a vehicle reported stolen. They were actually nice as he could have been arrested for receiving or posessing stolen property. The police had no choice but to take the car, even if legally bought ( which police believed him). Also, the Dealer should not have had to pay them anything if they followed the law and did all the things neccessay for them to sell it. The State is the one that should have paid him because when you look at it, the State said that the dealer could sell the car. The state is the only one at fault for not having the proper proceedures that a dealer must follow to aquire and sell the car. 100% States fault, good job from police for not arresting hime and verifying he did buy from dealer.. They could have arrested him and told him to take it up with the Judge.
Wells Fargo and Chase are really good at investigating and reimbursing people. The usually automatically credit your bank account or card while they investigate.

They couldn’t even cover the officers crime up so they just straight up said there isn’t efficient evidence to charge him when the video clearly shows what the officer did. That cop and prosecutors license should really be put into question and they should also review every case that officer and prosecutor have handled since they clearly lie in their paperwork. How many people have been convicted by these 2? It all should be questioned but that’s probably just way too much work for the police to do so those peoples lives will remain ruined. Ridiculous
The fact that you saw him square up with a few steps before hitting him is enough to prove premeditation. Put him in prison
Imagine the most vile thing that I could say about those cops and double it.
The officer should’ve had his credentials revolt, regardless of what state or jurisdiction he goes to so this will occur again to any other civilian. Unless we start holding department heads liable for hiring criminal cops, we will always have problems.
Sad he will kill someone soon
IS THAT ALL, ITS BYFAR NOT ENOUGH. SEMPER-FI
In Detroit, they line up all the thugs and make them count off, "1-2,1-2.1-2..." Those thugs that count off as a "1" get hauled off to jail. Those that count off as a "2" get a badge and join the Detroit Police Department. Then, when the Detroti cops get fired, they line up and count "1-2,1-2.1-2..." Those that count off as a 1 get hired by East Pointe PD. Those that count off as a "2" also get hired on at East Pointe PD.
As part of the lawsuits, pull their certification and ban them from ever getting certified again. Don't let them resign so they can get hired at another precinct and do it all over again. STOP THE INSANITY!!!
That’s good but the problem is certain people won’t press charges sadly but I agree only thing is they can go to another state and recertify but also there needs to be more people who want to be cops someone said that police should have their own insurance like doctors so it’ll deter them from doing sh*t like this which I agree wholeheartedly and this is coming from someone going into law enforcement
The problem is the police unions.
If they decide to fight a dismissal it could take years to be resolved, meanwhile said cop ia receiving taxpayers money whilst suspended.
Or they can let him resign and the whole thing goes away.
So...what you are saying is that when a Brother gets arrested he should stay in jail for ever? Sounds like that is what your saying. People mess up and they should be given another chance. Yes? Or put the niggas away after the first crime? Can't have it both ways!
As part of the lawsuits, pull their certification and ban them from ever getting certified again. Don't let them resign so they can get hired at another precinct and do it all over again. STOP THE INSANITY!!!
That's so crazy because I was at a family gathering just a few weeks ago and I felt his negative energy that's crazy yo.
Eastpointe PD must have bought Roberts at a clearance sale, and spent the rest of the budgeted money on pizza and beer.
HOW CAN PEOPLE KEEP EXPECTING JUSTICE FROM AN UNJUST PEOPLE
Go back to Africa if u don't like it. Most of DPD is black😂😂
insufficient evidence?!... How are they saying insufficient evidence?... He knocked someone out for NO reason other than asking for badge numbers to keep them accountable.

Sue them all they all need to be in prison sue the city and the department for hiring these criminal gang's 🤔 All RIGHTS RESERVED
Prime example of why there needs to be a National Brady List, where complaints, lawsuits, etc. against an officer fallows them wherever they go, so departments get ALL records and documents to make a decision on who to hire. This happens everyday, cops will resign, versus waiting to be fired, so they can join a PD down the road, and their background and internal files don’t follow, so the new PD has no clue what that officers history is like.
