If you got a heavy duty electric motor with a low hum, they sound amazing, powerful, I love old classic electric engines they sound heavy duty as fuck.
Such a funny sound xD PS Maybe the electric motor could run the fifth gear if you would stay in fourth for a little bit longer period of time. That's what you would do in cars with low amount of torque.

This would be a great way to practice the idea of shifting in a real manual car before even getting in it. All he needs to do is create a LEGO clutch disk but I imagine that would get worn out a lot.
Sounds like a Honda, in that I mean you hit 4th gear and it falls on it's face! >D Just kidding, don't eat me alive. Love the vid and the transmission! Thanks for sharing.
I was doing this with old school Technics gear sets, that had way less parts to work with, back in the late 80's as a kid, before being a Lego Technics nerd was respectable. 😁 Lots a find it, grind it and or break it doing that sort of hard shifting!

Ahh yes, the classic shifter shake
All this needs is a clutch to allow smooth shifting

I don't think it would make any difference
its an electric motor they have the same amount of nm at 1rpm or at 1000rpm
@@toobad2917 Not entirely true, they do have efficiency losses. It's especially true with a tiny brushed DC motor lol
you get it high up the powerband as you can to stay in the powerband when goinginto higher gears.
Wouldn't make a difference as eletric motors are peaked torque at any rpm.

This would be a great way to practice the idea of shifting in a real manual car before even getting in it. All he needs to do is create a LEGO clutch disk but I imagine that would get worn out a lot.
