    Hi
    Thanks for your video-I am also at 5 months of recovery. I do have a question for you regarding your post and being able to be mobile after such a short amount of time. I had the same procedure and through I was up and walking off inflammation and bloating, I felt too winded to care for myself for an entire month. How did you manage cooking, cleaning everything that comes for caring for one self?

    • @StephanieDOfficial
      @StephanieDOfficial  2 роки тому

      Hi! I only did I was able to handle. Light cleaning and cooking was part of what I could tolerate. Certainly this healing was able about giving yourself grace and asking for help when needed. The first month definitely had help, but was able to be a little productive. Hope you are recovering well! I know each persons journey is unique to them.

    Girl I’m right there with you pre cancer uterus I’m having my surgery on the Jan 27th VERY nervous my husband will be with me for a week but after that I will have no one he goes back on the road so I will be alone. So after a week you could do normal things again? That’s good to hear. I’m not looking forward to the pain but have no choice. If you can think about anything else to share please do for us that’s getting ready to go through this.

      Hi Heather! Don’t get overly nervous. You’ll be just fine. Are you doing the laparoscopic as well? If so the recovery is fast! I was definitely mobile and even driving short distances 1 week post op. Just make sure you have things ready for your arrival. I did a bedside box (did a whole video about this) that I kept close by to keep me comfortable. Just take your time healing and rest as much as you can. Feel free to DM on Instagram. Be more than happy to answer any more questions you might have. You got this!

    Thanks for the video! I’m going to have the same procedure in a month, my dr will put me on HRT 6 mons after. Are you on HRT now?
    If so, how do you feel?

    • @StephanieDOfficial
      @StephanieDOfficial  3 роки тому +2

      Unfortunately, I did not get to be on HRT because of my diagnosis. Right now I’m 8MPO and feel good with no HRT. I have issues on occasion with sleep, but find eating plant based more and working out 3 - 5 days has helped me greatly! Best of luck to you! Feel free to DM if you have more questions. My Instagram is in the description area.

    Try a chiropractor...I got out of alignment after my surgery it happens as the way they position us during surgery can throw you out of alignment....helped me!! wish someone had told me to go sooner.

      Hi! Search for >> hysterectomy support and shared experiences

      Biggest advice is take one day at a time. Listen to your body during the healing process. Most importantly, give yourself grace. You got this! The FB private group was super supportive and something I tapped into frequently.

    Had one in June
    I'm so tired I healed fast but can't get my energy back

      @StephanieDOfficial  3 роки тому +1

      That is definitely an area I’m struggling with even being 16 months post op. Even with routine exercise and such I’m feeling so off on my energy. I’ve been trying to do better with vitamins, but that’s just a small piece of our complex puzzle post hysterectomy. Just take it one day at a time! Some days are great, but others are tough. It’s like a roller coaster ride.

    I don't see how people afford this surgery. It's very expensive

    • @StephanieDOfficial
      @StephanieDOfficial  4 роки тому +5

      Angel Rogers I wish I had an option not to have, but yes it is pricey. Even with insurance covering most of the cost I still had to pay out of pocket to meet deductibles, co pays, etc... It is insane.

      @@StephanieDOfficial There is financial help for women who are low income. Every hospital has to provide care for a percentage of low income folk, and there is also the Cancer Alliance, which has a lower criteria to qualify. I feel very fortunate that so far my bills have been very minimal, so far. For a D&C my fee from the anesthesiologists office was $30.00 after Medicare had paid, they wrote off most of the rest of it. I am waiting to hear from the Ultasound folks, most of at the moment, my bill with them is $20.00 after many ultra sound including a period where I had one a month to measure the thickness of my uterine lining. Still finding petrol to go to appointments and parking fees add up, but not to bad so far, especially no out of pocket fees for the hospital or my Oncologyst, or Gyn's office. And the hospital where I had the D&C will write off what was not covered by Medicare, so that's good. I have Medicare Part D to pay for prescriptions and and special help with the co-pays. In the town where I live if a single person makes less than $40,000.00 a year and has little or few assets the hospital has a sliding scale as to how they will write off the difference, so that really helps people who live on Social Security, and perhaps another small pension. I hope this is helpful.
