    Thanks for your information! The surgeon did not tell me that I would still have a period after my partial hysterectomy. The last two months I noticed when I ovulate I spot but then I get a big burst of blood, which is similar to when I had my light days when I had my uterus. I am not happy about this, and I am going to find a way, hopefully non-surgically, that I can regulate my hormones to reduce the ovulation and period. SMH. I am 45 years old, soon to be 46 and over it. I am going to follow up with a urogynocologist to see what my options are. I also gained 15 pounds. :/

      Oh no! I am sorry to hear that. It can be disappointing to still have periods after a hysterectomy. There are certainly non surgical options that can stop your periods. If you are in the Chicago land area, I'd be happy to see you.

      Here's some basic science. You gained 15 lbs because you ate in a caloric surplus, not because your uterus was removed. Also because your uterus no longer exists you shouldn't be bleeding. Sue that God damn doctor.

    This is good information. I had a partial hysterectomy during the spring of 2023. Although I feel much better, I’m not happy about gaining 15 pounds.

      Thank you Latrice. Without knowing your full medical history, I cannot fully comment on the weight gain. But I'll say this: the weight gain may not be due to the hysterectomy, that usually only happens if your ovaries were also removed. The uterus is just a house for your periods and babies, it does not affect any other systemic part of your body.

      Yall actually fuckin dumb. You fucking ate a caloric surplus. It's that simple. Count your damn calories if you wanna lose it and eat in a Deficit. That is basic nutrition.

    With sever pain and bleeding during period and failure of merina ( 3 times expelled with the first period after insertion) researching hysterectomy options. Trying to figure it out keeping the cervix is ideal in my case... any thoughts plz

      I'm so sorry you're going through that. Keeping the cervix depends on you and your doctor though. If there is any history of abnormal pap smears, then the cervix should be removed.

      @@DardurGynecology thank you for your reply. My doc suggest to remove cervix as he believe that there is a good chance to have issues within cervix area in the future though never had a abnormal pap in the past..😳

    I have been diagnosed with endometriosis, and I was thinking after the hysterectomy, will be able a normal sexual active life?

    • @DardurGynecology
      @DardurGynecology  25 днів тому

      I recommend discussing this with your surgeon. Was everything removed? Including the ovaries? You may suffer from menopause related vaginal and hormonal issues if the ovaries were removed which usually makes sex much more difficult. So you may need hormone replacement. It all depends on what was done during your surgery.

      Depends on which kind of hysterectomy you get. Remember, hysterectomy does not always include removal of the ovaries.
