    Omg! I have been struggling for years making flow charts in numbers. This is Christmas morning!

    Thank you! I’ve been struggling to create educational slides on my very first presentation, and just couldn’t get those lines and shapes right. Really appreciate this video 😍

    Gary, as always, your video make my life easier. This is great for all the process charts I need to do as well as for organizational charts. Connection lines were always my issue, but with your tips, they've become the easiest thing for me. You've proven that your patreon subscription is worth every cent!

    Awesome. Always thought that curved lines were only for free flowing lines. Angle lines is a great saver. Thanks a ton for sharing this 👍

    Hi Gary. Great tip. As an extra bit of info, when doing this in Pages, once you place your shape, you have to go to "Arrange" and ensure that the "Object Placement" of the shape is set to "Stay.on Page," otherwise, the connection lines do not snap to the shape.

      Hi Gary. Perhaps you can help with a Calendar app issue. I have three calendars that I manage in Calendar: 2 linked to gmail addresses, and one to an outlook address. The problem is that Calendar allows me to set alerts for the gmail accounts, but not the outlook. Any alert I set ( 1 day before, day of.. etc., immediately reverts back to "none." Any thoughts on how I can fix this?

    Cool stuff, this also works in Numbers! I prefer using numbers since it's similar to Freeform but with much more power and capabilities.

    I love your videos. Before I retired I used excel at work on a PC platform. Now retired I don’t have a PC or a MacBook but I have a basic iPad and also a iPhone. When in numbers how can you display the function details/examples like you do? Does that only work with Mac computers? Can I do it with my iPad or iPhone? If so how?

    • @macmost
      @macmost  Рік тому

      Do you mean the help info for each function? When you enter text in a cell, tap the = symbol with a circle around it to start typing a formula. Then tap the "fx" button and you get a list of functions with Recent/Category at the top. Every function has an "i" with t circle around it to the right. Tap that to get the info.

    Three things I wish you could do and currently without them can cause great frustration.
    (1) anchor a connection point.now when you adjust the connection line, the connection point moves around the connected object and even change the sides in which it’s connected. I would like the option to be able to determine where the line connects and it be anchored so it does not change.
    (2) jump lines. In drafting, when two lines cross you place a half circle at the intersection point so that one line appears to jump over the other line. If the jump is not there then where those line cross they would be connected as a junction.
    (3) and lastly it would be great it you could add additional adjustment points on the line. As it is now you only have one and that can make it difficult to arrange connection lines so that they don’t end up slicing through other object on the slide or page.

      For 1 I don't know what you mean. Seems you are describing how it works now.

    Hey Gary, off topic... Not sure if you do this but if you could make videos pertaining to audio production and the mac you'd find a whole new audience.
    Like connecting mac to audio interfaces and routing/ i o.
    Audio/midi setup.
    The sound preference.
    Then you can delve into the popular audio applications like Logic.Ableton, Pro tools and al the rest.
    All mac related.
    Lotta views in that arena!

      Thanks. I've done some on GarageBand and Audacity in the past. But to go any further I'd really need to become an expert at using those tools first. I just don't work in that industry so that would be hard.

      You can't create fillable PDF forms with Pages. You need to use Adobe Acrobat or some other pro PDF app to do that.

    I tried to make a family tree using freeform, but it's annoying you can't connect connection lines to other connection lines. You can only connect them to objects... :(

    • @macmost
      @macmost  Рік тому +1

      Create a small circle, no bigger than a dot. Use that. You can even make it invisible (0% color) if you like.
