Then he runs, and you'd think that he's running to the exit of the tunnel, but he's going down.
He's running to Ryan at the other end of the tunnel.
So when Ryan is overwhelmed with fear, he yells. Shane just books it towards Ryan.
*edit: this is not supposed to have any romantic connotation whatsoever. Shane and Ryan have a great friendship, and they are also both in committed relationships.
