Ah, I paused the video and I came up with the same move. I don't think it was because he missed his knight was hanging.
    My thinking process was:
    - Okay, Rf1+. White has to take the knight if he doesn't want to lose the queen.
    - Then Qe4+ and white plays Kh4.
    - Rh1+ and white plays Kg5.
    - Kg7 and white cannot prevent mate after Qf6.
Stupid me didn't realise I would just lose my rook after Rh1 😂

    Harrwitz;
~Makes deals about taking breaks, then breaks his word
~agrees to no more breaks, then takes several
~refuses to play until he hear Morphy is sick. Then demands to play
~demands that the game location be moved to a room with no spectators so that no one can see what a piece of crap he is
~ is either too stupid or two dishonest to call a completely lost position what it is. Instead insists that the game was equal the entire time.
CONCLUSION: I know Mr. Barnes. I’ve seen Mr. Barnes play chess. YOU sir, are NO Mr. Barnes.

he was too young on the old one, it didn't resemble him properly as the person playing in Europe, this one's is far more accurate, actually it's the best there is as adult Morphy.

Is it just me or does Morphy look like a clean-shaved Nicolas Cage, just with what looks like a... ahem... unique triangle hairstyle?

I've seen tones of historical photos and paintings with uncanny resemblance to currently living people. It's nothing new, but sometimes creepy...

Reassuring that even Morphy can make mistakes, although he might have to be ill to do that ... (His opponent is coming across as rather a devious slime ball !!).
But great game and excellent analysis, thanks.

Blind spots and misses like that, no matter what caused them, do happen and to the best of us! All one can do is laugh, as that's better than crying! Lol, gg, thx.

I see it as a part of the mindgame. You focus your opponents attention to one side of the board until seamlessly moving a piece on the other side trying to open a pin or something.
