It would need to be over collateralized to make up for 70, 80% drops... This is part of the big reason the algorithmic stable coin UST failed because it didn't have enough Bitcoin backing it... Terra Luna ran through their Bitcoin real quick on the way down to nothing... Luna was just too inflationary... And it really just comes down to confidence and bank run mentality for why it failed... And I believe this can happen with Fiat but people are recognizing Bitcoin for what it is... The answer to government failures

The explanation I have heard is that institutional groups are simultaneously "longing" Bitcoin while also placing "shorts" on BTC futures .. this causes pulls in both directions of price and we are stuck in this like a sailing ship waiting for wind to fill the sails .. it will happen when the price is forced up by sheer lack of supply of BTC .. as of June 2024 there are about 980,000 BTC available on exchanges.. this is close to the amount of BTC bought by all ETF's combined since January... so IF everyone keeps buying at the current rate we will be in a severe shortage by fall and the shorts will be liquidated.. price should go up a lot

New viewer, great content. I would like to know more about seed phases, how and when to use them. Got crypto in cold storage but considering trading it for bitcoin. Do I have to use seed phrase to get it on an exchange, where do you share or enter the seed phrase
Rule number one, if you ever expose your seed phrase on any device with an internet connection that wallet is now considered compromised and you should no longer use it for storage of your coins.
If your coins are on a hardware wallet you do not need to use the seed phrase/private key to make a withdrawal, only need the PIN and physical buttons on the device.
If your coins are on a paper wallet then you’ll need to expose the private key and then I refer you back to rule number one.
Please do more research on seed phrases and the importance of keeping them a secret and stored in a safe manner (never on any device like computer, phone, never take a photo of it, email it, save it on your digital notepad etc.) think analogue style. Again lots of articles out there and seed phrase storage solutions that now exist.

I may not be correct, but, as I understand the technology, moving a digital asset requires transaction computation (validating on the blockchain) that is done by many computers, aka mining. Miners aren't out busting their butts for the fun of it . . . If you move assets around, substantial amounts, it will cost you.

I think one piece you CANNOT skip regarding the 2008 crash, was that in order to pay for two ongoing wars (one being propped up on false allegations of "weapons of mass destruction"), the Fed suppressed interest rates, which is what allowed the banks to exploit those loopholes you mentioned.

One of the best videos you've put out in a long time. Lots of times when I ask people why they don't invest in BTC, their response is "I don't understand it."
With all due respect if someone doesn't understand BTC then you don't understand money, and/or how financial systems operate. (And unfortunately most people don't).
But even if you do understand, but you're rooted in the current system, then your natural inclinations is to want BTC to fail, so that you can keep profiting from the status quo.

Hi Heidi, In April 2010 I think the offer for 10,000 BTC was a no bid at $50. Someone countered with a $20 bid but it was not accepted. I could be wrong.

My btc is stuck on exchange, network fees are too high to transfer.

True! I think they are predicting about 95.5% Bitcoin will be mined by 2039 , but the process of halving about every four years will mean the last Bitcoin mined could be over 100 years away. After That??? Yeah it seems like a bit of a count down where burned coins through fees (and what not) meets dead wallets that will never move again due to lost keys (and what not). One trick up Bitcoin's sleeve is a mutual fork (which seems inevitable when Qbits out run the existing encryption protocol ...)
