I'm never going to make any of these coils...but I really enjoy watching you make them. You have a very good demeanor and what you do is art in my eyes. Please keep making these vids. Thanks
Once again completely mind-blowing video and tutorial quality. You are more than on point with all your videos, you're quite simply the best there is out there.
Been vaping for 3 mo got my first rda a month ago watched all you videos haven't made anything as beautiful as you but it all worked and have great vapes thanks for doing these videos
I never stop being amazed at coil disign improvements in short periods of time.it was yesterday when tricro and dragon coils were the top dogs. My coil log is as thick as my hydroponics log,and I use every hydro system that's been made lol.I will say this may truely bring 32 guage back in the game.as a guy that likes to piss of the neighbors by teriforming their front yard with my box mod,I was one of the first to drop 32 for 28-22 guage.even tryed 18 only cause amozon messed up my order.disaster.32 just seemed to weak of a wire to build those sick coils.vertibraid changes this.love to see a few of deedupdex's coils redone in vertibraid. Let keep this Rollin, man this is good shit
This is such a fun coil to make. Braiding is somehow more satisfying to me than any other method of coiling. Braiding around a 32/36g Clapton would be incredible. Great video! #TIV
SLuG I have found these braids offer a lot more variation in patterns and don't destroy your hands/fingers! haha Plus they are fun and you can kind of just wonder off while making them which I find relaxing…
That's just nuts brethren! Very cool, and I love to keep seeing even more cross-pollination from the Art realm. I'm wondering now, have ye experimented with accentuating the twist instead of straightening it? It'd be interesring to see if it makes it behave differently, performance-wise. Hmmmmm... I so don't need any more ideas!!!
CapnsKustomWorks I have done that a few times when I accidentally twist it too much then say screw it and keep it going. Even used Twisted Messes technique and "spiraled" a few all with some interesting outcomes. The coil didn't look the greatest but the performance/wicking was increased
So what you are saying is that based on the variance of wire, the way you braid it, twist it etc, has an impact on the FLAVOR of what you are sucking into your lungs, so that if all other things being equal and you swapped the coil (for example) from a 5 wire braid to a 4 wire braid that would affect the flavor and blindfolded you could tell the difference?
+joeventura1 Yes, absolutely. Heat and the rate of that heat does different things to the juice not to mention air. Even changing the wire sizes or Kanthal vs Nichrome. It all makes a difference.
joeventura1 also the mass involved has big impact. more mass equals longer ramp time. and the more dimensional the coil, or more pockets and surface area is involved, generally makes better vapor flavor and wicks better though there are a lot of variables that play into that
Unreal build pal, great to watch. In your opinion, are there any coil builds you would recommend solely for flavour for say a 3 post RDA when used on a VW mod dripping Max (very thick) juice that would still wick well enough but something that really makes flavours pop?
+Junior J Absolutely, hands down it has to be the Staple Coil… Easily my favorite flavor build and possibly my favorite all around build to date! It will meet all your criteria if done with the appropriate wire combination. I have a tutorial here on my channel (it was the first video I have ever done so go easy on me) but in that tutorial I did a "10ply" or "10 stack". What you're looking for I would go with an 8ply/8stack!
My butthurt level is a bit high on this one... I was trying this technique a few months back, but I couldn't get it to come out clean like yours. Also, I didn't have the advantage of a cavernous RDA like the Twisted Messes, so I scrapped the idea. All that said, awesome tutorial, gorgeous coil, and nice job making it work!
Jason Koppelman I understand! This build took me 2 weeks to "master" the technique down and I love how there are endless possibilities with this style braid… Don't feel too bad, I introduced this build on IG almost a year ago so its been around for a little bit but hopefully now you will have a better chance at nailing it or perhaps taking it further than me. Thanks for the kind words!
Also thought you should have mentioned that the twist ing at the end of this video only works with the kumihimo pattern if the movement of wires move around the disk when braiding (( they often across the disk)) in fact the majority of kumihimo braids wouldn't be tighter if you twisted after braiding
WanderingMindful I'm no kumihimo expert nor do I think/promote I am… haha I have just found with this braid the slight, slight twist with the drill in fact does tighten the braid up and make it more consistent throughout the whole strand. This was a technique I stumbled upon when I was doing a lot of these coils a year ago and thought it might be helpful for others!
Deedupdex, sorry dude but this guy one up'd you here.not knockin ya bro but damn.this is next level shit.and its now getting to where so Manny coils are being built I can't absorb it all fast enough.trying to keep up lol.so many coils in my head.so many things to try.and my wife busted my box mod.title buzz kill
Maybe easier than the Vertebraid after you get into the practice of doing it since you have the jig to make it. Maybe practice with string/yarn and get great at it and will make doing it with wire so much easier.
sweet video doode! Other than time consuming this seems relatively easy to build. Not to be a dick but when u were talking about twisting the braid it think the word you were looking for was Bind if you twist it to much that was funny tho! Honestly your build tutorial have been the best for me personally bc I couldn't Clapton wires any other way with high gauges other than ur index finger under the core technique! Thanks for all the time and energy you put into these tutorials
James Maglinger Bind! The words escaped me... hahaha glad to hear the "Doode Grip" has been helping you with your Clapton's, only way I do it anymore! Thanks for the kind words and checking out the videos!
Is there any particular reason use tape to secure the wire ends together? I used to line up my wires up and tie the ends together in an underhand knot but now I cut half the number of wires double the length then string them through the loop on the deep sea Fishing weights I use. Then put the weight through the top of the disk and position my wires on the disk...Then when Done jus snip off the weight....this is the cleanest way to setup I have found... the weight can't slip, and the braid also begins to tighten up almost instantly unlike if you have a knotted or bundled end and the first portion of the braid is wonky until the tension on the individual wires evens itself out
what's the difference between the original claptons compared to the fused one's? are fused claptons that much better? and can I use SS wire to make my claptons?
There's a big difference in my honest opinion! Wicks way better and delivers better flavor to me! And absolutely! You can use SS wire, just remember SS is to be ran in Temperature Control only and it will be a lower resistance. Be safe and check your ohms before firing! Good luck and hope this helps!
It definitely ramps up wayy faster than say Kanthal and usually has a much lower resistance, but I know many people who have used SS in power mode with great success. I've not had much luck, but then again I've only tried a couple times hah
Squid doode??? Where in the heck did you get a name like that?? You don't have tentacles as far as I could see !! Haha..Maybe too much Spongebob when you were a kid? lol.. Subbed and watched a shitload of your vids Making SICK builds look easy..Until I tried them..not as easy as you make it look..and NO SWIVELS..Damn good job..Ive got a crapload of wire sooo... maybe one day....
hi there, what size kumihimo disk are u using? there are multiple different dimensions for sale and I would like to purchase the one you are using. Please respond.
where does one purchase one of those disc ? I've checked wallmart anda few other places I would of thought I could of got this but no luck thus far ...I really wanna give this a try .

RD 200 but iv sorted it out had to much pg and nic went to the tfv4 with the octuple coils instead and omg.its just the way to go lol thanks for the reply
ForkMyDongle you could certainly twist one end but I would still tape and secure that end. what I have noticed is when you first set up the loom and start the braid it really pulls on those ends. When filming this, I didn't have them secure enough and 2 of the wires slipped out when setting the loom up so I had to go back and add more tape..

nah, it's not art. just basic age old rope making technique.

Your talent is unreal. I don't even know what to say really. 👍🏻👍🏻
Chilled Intro, chilled Voice, Chilled building dat Coil. Luv dis.

Sick build man, love the braided coils. Have to try this one out. Great tutorial DOODE
Chucks like a beast.
This is such a fun coil to make. Braiding is somehow more satisfying to me than any other method of coiling. Braiding around a 32/36g Clapton would be incredible. Great video! #TIV
The B-Real of vaping right here.
V-Real maybe? Idk
Loving the ricky picture! Now fuck off, I've got work to do.
Smokes, let's go.
Mac Potts I am the liquor...bub.
Great video man! That looks like a much easier way to braid
The shape of it looks soooooo cool.
+Tim Yu agreed!
Love these tutorials man. Great detail! Keep up the good work man!
Jake Read Thank you, I love making these videos so until the ideas stop coming, I will continue to do what I can!
thanks Doode! another enjoyable tutorial.
That turned out real nice. Great tutorial
Jeremy Baity thank you!
I'm dreaming about a fat bunch of 40g sitting in the core of that coil...excellent job d00d3!
ROBERT WIDEBROOK hahaha thanks man!
need more builds on devices like this!!!!
@the art of vaping
WHY is it so easy to watch your videos
Calming While I Build :)
+TheArChAngeLMr humbled man, a lot of work goes into each and every video, thanks for the support!
doode thanks for another great video we love what you do
JP Palumbo my pleasure, thanks for checking them out!
Thanks for the awesome video enjoyed it very much. Might attempt next week looks easier then the vertebraid.
SLuG I have found these braids offer a lot more variation in patterns and don't destroy your hands/fingers! haha Plus they are fun and you can kind of just wonder off while making them which I find relaxing…
i love Beyond vape! i still use my mako war all the time!
i made this and paralleled it with clapton. looked godlike and vaped incredibly
looks amazing, I'm not patient enough for braided coils, lol. I don't know how you do it brother but keep it up!

I know what ill be doing tomorrow! Thanks for another great tutorial The Art of Vaping Can I pick up one of those kumihimo looms at a hobby shop?
Yep, you can find those at Michaels Art's & Crafts store
The Art of Vaping right on! thanks dude! Ill tag you on IG when i post my attempts.
You should do a braiding part 3
the Viking knit coil ;p that would be pretty bad ass if you could do it and it worked
+kmaddap Have some more braids coming!
You are vape god.

+The Art of Vaping the "doode grip" haha hell yeah I love it! Take it easy man
Dude, looking around for diffent takes on coils....what tunes are you playing in the background???
I was hoping to see you install it like a vertical coil because that's what it looked like in your Insta picture... Awesome vid nonetheless!
909orbitz yeah that image was from a kumi I did way back and it just happens to be my favorite image of this build! Sorry to disappoint you! haha
fucking fantastic coil build!!!!!I gotta get me 1 of those looms fo sho, thx for sharing ur skills with us!!!
Gary Wiesner my pleasure, thanks for checking it out!
thx doode,very helpful.............
Great video! I may have missed it, but how long did it take you to make this one?
i need to find out what the backing tracks are to your videos man
Is there any particular reason use tape to secure the wire ends together? I used to line up my wires up and tie the ends together in an underhand knot but now I cut half the number of wires double the length then string them through the loop on the deep sea
Fishing weights I use. WanderingMindful That seems like a great way to set up the braid and loom. I was just demonstrating what I did or how I have done these in the past.
Seems like a lot of effort, is it really worth it?
what's the difference between the original claptons compared to the fused one's? are fused claptons that much better? and can I use SS wire to make my claptons?
There's a big difference in my honest opinion! Wicks way better and delivers better flavor to me! And absolutely! You can use SS wire, just remember SS is to be ran in Temperature Control only and it will be a lower resistance. Be safe and check your ohms before firing! Good luck and hope this helps!
Actually Stainless Steel can be ran in either TC or Power mode just fine
+Kalan Colwell never really worked good in power mode with me
It definitely ramps up wayy faster than say Kanthal and usually has a much lower resistance, but I know many people who have used SS in power mode with great success. I've not had much luck, but then again I've only tried a couple times hah
Original Clapton is one inner strand , fused Clapton is two or more inner strands.
Any Nickel/titanium builds coming?
Jeremy Biggers Still playing with the wire… Nickel doesn't really allow you to make anything to interesting or too dense but I haven't given up!
The Art of Vaping I think with the coming of the DNA 200 we can put more power into those dense nickel coils to get them up to temp.
doode, has anybody tryed the Viking braid that is sometimes used to make wire chains for jewelry, its more a weave, uses one wire
+elliott nunez hahaha, it's a long story.... thanks for checking out the videos man, all it takes is time, a lot of wire and practice!
Super !!!
i really want to see you doing a tutorial on making a cheese sandwich.
+will Tee (double U Tee) hahaha
Grate vid tank you for your help
Braidiator next plz!! lol
It´s amazing ;)
hi there, what size kumihimo disk are u using? there are multiple different dimensions for sale and I would like to purchase the one you are using. Please respond.
Why did you block the Kidney puncher brand on the spool?
Can I ask Wich butane torch do you use?
where does one purchase one of those disc ? I've checked wallmart anda few other places I would of thought I could of got this but no luck thus far ...I really wanna give this a try .
+jasmin leblanc I purchased mine off of Amazon, however I see them all the time at wither Michaels Arts & Crafts of Hobby Lobby
thanks a bunch
Where did you get the weights?
Brad Morgan I purchased those weights off of Amazon, just search "kumihimo weights" and they should pop right up.
what is the best coil for flavor?
+Bob Keller with out a doubt either a Staple Coil or Framed Staple Coil, depending on the device you are using!
squid im having some problems with my clapton coils ive been thru so much coil wraps and they for some reason arent glowing from the inside out no matter how long i work on them olease help
as long as you stroke em, pinch em, and tighten your leads you're good
Why are you building all these kinds of builds like clapton, alien, tiger, tornodo, stove top etc.??? Is it just for look or is there any benefit of doing these? Does it have any diffference from normal coil build?
Oktay Çetin all kinds of builds and styles have a lot of different variables that offer/effect the way in which your juice is atomized. Some work better than others. Some provide better wick and longer coil life, others provide more warmth, throat hit, vapor production and flavor of course! many of these builds offer a combination and some have cons.... This is what is exciting to me, being able to tailor your vape just how you want it.
Is there somewhere I can buy those weights you use?
Drew Miller www.amazon.com/Kumi-Weight-Gator-Kumihimo-Braiding/dp/B0095LXDQS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1439783647&sr=8-1&keywords=kumihimo+weights
I will never ever bitch, complain, throw shit or swear when I'm building a dual parallel. Dude, wtf!
Why did you cover the kanthal cover?
Shaiful Baker The company whose wire was used in this video I've been trying to contact for months now and I have yet to receive any response to multiple emails and messages. If they can not provide simple customer service, I'll be damned if I'm going to give them free exposure…
The Art of Vaping oic.. Understood..hopefully you can solve that issue.. #vapeon

Yup just tryin to help out a fellow vaper and nice I like the tfv4 good buy
Anyone know the instrumentals in the back?
Is there a reason why you wouldn't just twist the end instead of taping it?
ForkMyDongle you could certainly twist one end but I would still tape and secure that end. what I have noticed is when you first set up the loom and start the braid it really pulls on those ends. When filming this, I didn't have them secure enough and 2 of the wires slipped out when setting the loom up so I had to go back and add more tape..

That is the shit!
19:59 that flew?)))
ok i know this might be 2 of the dumbest questions but 1: Is this coil wrap more powerful than a single wire coil wrap? and 2: Does anyone know how many ohms a mechanical mod has?
+Branden Stewart please dont even fuck with mech mods you will blow your face off by the sounds of it
+TryABaconSlice aren't you just a bundle of knowledge.
Just remember successes are preceded by failures.
Brian Robinson And failures make everyone doing the proper research look bad because one idiot tried to move too fast and ended up making headlines
+TryABaconSlice screw the media bro. They just blow every little thing way out of proportion and some people nowadays are too proud of themselves to come out and admit that, "Hey. That wasn't product default, that was my mess up."
Brian Robinson Exactly, but that doesnt stop public mass hysteria leading to bans on whatever caused the headlines
what is that thing you are smoking? ?????????????????????
anyone sell pre-build custom coils to learn and vape vvith?
Mark Souvalian I do hit me up
expecially? especially... :P
Jokers
Too much work! LOL
This is not how to straighten wire.
Here it gets warped and not straightened.
You have to pull on wire to straighten it.
Once again completely mind-blowing video and tutorial quality. You are more than on point with all your videos, you're quite simply the best there is out there.
Damn your edits are amazing ✌🏽👍🏽☝🏽
