I think one of the issues is that people think "oh it's a disney ride so i can't be THAT bad?" Leading to them not heeding the warnings properly and just assuming it's your average family friendly simulator.
Seeing a lot of people in the comments saying how horrible of an experience this ride is, but I do have to ask if you really read the signs going into orange. The orange is designed to simulate the g-forces of an actual shuttle launch, though it comes in a little less than what an actual launch is. Still, that's what it's designed to do, and for that reason it is not for the faint of heart. Before you go into orange, you have to go into it prepared to feel like you are in the real deal, and I mean that literally. The orange ride is not meant to be your average park ride, it is very intense, and is meant to give you a taste of what g-forces really feel like, and how intense they are. Similar to taking a ride in an actual jet blasting through the skies, though that is more intense than this, but it's the same story either way. If you don't feel you are ready to feel that kind of force, then this ride is not meant for you, and I would advise the green version instead. Same ride, but without the g-forces. Overall, me and my dad went on this ride when we went to Epcot in 2014, and my mom stayed outside because she knew she couldn't handle it, and that was smart. LOL But I absolutely loved this ride! I truly mean it when I say it was the coolest ride I ever went on, because of how intense it is. I'm a person who prefers intense and adventurous rides that get you on edge, and this did it. If you want to feel g-forces, I highly recommend this ride. My dad and I loved it. But like I said, don't go into it expecting a normal ride. The orange version is not a normal ride. If you don't feel like you can bear it, go with the green line. There's absolutely no shame in preferring the green version, not everyone will be able to handle those forces in the orange version. If you can't handle the g-forces, then ride the green version and have fun!
The problem with Disney openly stating a ride is intense is that people assume everything Disney does is family friendly, and tend to disregard the warnings thinking the ride in question is comparable to most anything else they normally do. This and Alien Encounter are probably the best examples of this problem. Alien Encounter had multiple warnings the show was very scary, and a whole generation of kids got traumatized because parents ignored the warnings, playing a big part in its closure shortly after. This repeatedly warns people that the ride uses high grade flight simulators hooked up to a centrifuge, and people got quite sick (or in extreme cases, died) because they ignored multiple announcements that show exactly what the ride does. Even with a milder version introduced that disabled the most forceful functions and multiple announcements suggesting the milder version for people that are not dead set on the intense version, you still get a lot of people that can't figure out Disney's not joking about the intensity.
Another example of extreme G forces is surprisingly amatuer to professional level Go Karts. The one's that Formula 1 and Nascar drivers drive in championships. Pro Go Karts are brutal and are designed to get junior race drivers used to the G Forces Formula 1 cars produce.
my wife and I felt like we were gonna die on this ride, and I felt horrible for convincing her to go orange. I love thrill rides but man the fact that you could feel your body kick into survival mode during this ride was horrible, felt like 500lbs of weight on your chest.
My 10 year old thought he was dying. He was saying his face was pushing in. It wasn’t fun. I talked him through the whole thing trying to calm him down. Whew. Never again.
Snownout This pulls about 2.5 g's which is about 1 less than a shuttle experiences(about 3.5)However some rollercoasters exceed this, such as rock n rollercoaster which pulls an impressive and massive 4.5 g's (which isn't nearly as nauseating as this because it is much more brief)
James Hetfield the thrill factor is off the charts on rockn roller coaster and space mountain compared to mission space , and I agree that compared mission space could be considered boring . But the effect on the body ( at least mine ) mission space is much more intense than both even tho your pulling half the G’s.
I went on this ride yesterday and if you ever plan on it and feel sick just look down at the thing with words on it below the screen, you'll forget you're even spinning it only spins for a short amount of time about 3 times so it's not as bad.
Ok, I just rode this yesterday. I was super apprehensive bc of the “horrific” comments I had read about it and all I can say is its an AMAZING ride. I am a bit claustrophobic but didn’t suffer that at all, I just focused on the screen and the instructions and had 0 anxiety. As for the ride, yes, the take off is quite intense but nothing unbearable, and the feeling of weightlessness after the take off is just incredible, nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. It does get intense again a few more times, but if you focus on the screen its just a great journey. 10/10 for me, I even thought of riding it again but didn’t want to push it just in case, I was a little dizzy. Definitely recommend it.
I had a bad experience on this ride and if you are claustrophobic you would have to so you must not be because I was freaking out and ready to start pounding on the door but I just had a panic attack and managed to stay calm till they let me the hell out of there.. so take it from me you're not claustrophobic if you could ride this ride and not be bothered. Bye Felicia!
It's a relief to read these comments! My partner and I had to go back to the hotel and take a nap for a few hours to recover from this. That's after I had to lie down in the gift shop for a while just to get my legs back. This was the most intense experience for us of anything at the parks, even Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, you name it! We were so not prepared for this one.
I should add that my kids had no problem with it at all! People are definitely wired up differently. I'll bet they barely remember this one, but I get ill thinking about it. I love space stuff (we've been to Johnson Space Center and went to Kennedy on the way home from Disney after this), so I have a love/hate relationship with this ride.
I remember riding on both green and orange mission with my friends during my trip to Disney a few weeks back. During the ride into space before hypersleep, I tried pulling up my hands, and I barely could since the pressure of the fake gravity felt realistic. I went on some of the most killer rides on my Disney trip. Like the Tower of Terror, Rock N’ Roller Coaster, and this ride, Mission Space. Even though the rides can really shake you up, they sure are really fun.
Worst ride of my life, I felt like my eyes were gonna pop out of my head and like I was going to pass out. Damn ride gave me fever sweats, thought I was so badass, I learned my lesson lol.
I'm usually not one to get claustrophobic, I have been scuba diving since I was 12 years old. I even cave dived. But THIS.... this had me a little uneasy! I kept thinking what if the machine broke down and we were trapped in there for hours. You have literally no space between you and the panel and you are locked in with shoulder harnesses. I felt like I was being buried alive in a technical tomb!! Lift off as you say... made it a bit worse! I mean, what if you wanted out??? TOUGH !
We went on in a couple of weeks ago and as soon as my wife found out it spun she backed out of it. Wish I had! Didn't barf but felt crap when I got off!! Sick bag? Couldn't lift my hand up to reach it!! Push that button? Nope, can't move my hands!! Lol!! Never again.!!
My soul left my body during the this ride. I usually don’t take the warning signs seriously at Disney because it’s Disney.. like absolutely no way it can be that bad. The moment that screen came forward and I noticed the barf bags, I knew I fucked up badly. And yes, I did fuck up badly. I nearly passed out omfg. 💀
I remember going on this ride with my cousin a while back ago, there were two adult looking male high schoolers laughing at us, only after we all got out of the ride, and they were motion sick, and they were looking at us again, only instead of laughing they were like: Why aren't you two sick?😞 And my cousin and I both smiled at them!😊
I love this ride especially orange mission. I've been told by many to not ride it but I've personally enjoyed this ride everytime I've gone on it. It that kind of ride I do first in the park
I recently went on this ride and nearly passed out because of the g-force and a panic attack from the small space and weight on my body. If you do not like small spaces DO NOT go on the ride. Also if you get nauseous easily DO NOT go on this ride my mom got very car sick afterwards. The warning labels for this ride are not just there to be taken loosely. I personally felt like I was dying.
lexi hubbard same I didn't read the paper that they gave you I just thought it was going to be a little space ride and I went on the high intense one I felt like my head was gnna explode
Very true. I never feel sick on simulators and such but this was different. Was Woozy and Nauseous for the next two days after, maybe had to do with the fact that I was already tried as well. Never going on again lol
What I love is the bit where your face starts going back on the launch. Half of a "G" than a standard Space *SHUTTLE* Launch. This ride is easier for me than that tower of terror ride lol
Not my story but someone told me this story. I’ll call that guy Jerolse. Jerolse’s friend goes up to him and tells him “If you don’t ride the orange ride in Mission Space, you’re a chicken”. Jerolse’s friend, who I’ll call Dan, had been on the green one over 10 times. He didn’t think it would be that bad. He thought that everyone who was motion sick was exaggerating. Jerolse refuses to ride it, so Dan rides it. After he rode it, he went over to the nearest trash can and puked. Jerolse is one smart boy lol.
I was around 8 yrs old when I rode the orange side and I remember the voice yelling at me to press the final button and I was panicking bc I couldn’t reach the button bc of the g force. I didn’t feel sick but my parents had to sit for 30 minutes afterwards
this ride was where i had the time of my life, for some reason even adults fear me for that. i rode on it FIVE times. maybe two more as a starter, but i love making jokes on these waiting lines.
I don’t know why I loved this ride that much, probably because it’s very realistic because you actually feel the g-forces but my favorite ride is the hulk and mako
Shadow Builds i rode the hulk and i was perfectly fine but i see a lot of people comment they felt sick after mission space do you think i’ll feel sick in mission space ?
WARNING! This ride gave me a major concussion and when it first opened, someone actually died on it! They had to tone it down. So many people get hurt on this ride so please make sure your old enough, you read he signs and you stay as still as possible. I felt like I was going to faint so if you do, just know that’s okay because you will wake up and you will be fine. Fainting sounds scary but is not because you don’t feel anything. Please be careful I’m 10 and you don’t want to be going through this it’s horrible. I actually have the same type of concussions that football players get! Trust me! You don’t want to go through this. I’m warning you!
Two people have died on the ride. And they didn't tone it down, they just offered a milder version (which is why Green exists). Orange is the same ride people died on.
I never been to Disney World in my life but I prefer the milder version because I have developmental challenges I don't think the orange version would be good for me and especially people with epilepsy.
I was so excited for this ride because I love simulators... I WAS SO WRONG. I now know I HATE g-force! I had a panic attack and started hitting the walls trying to find a button that would get me out. While this was happening my sister was enjoying herself and my dad was frantically pushing a red button that obviously did nothing. When I got off I was shaking so hard, my mom was so glad she didn't go on it in the end. Go on the green ride trust me it's much better.
The problem with this ride is that most people don't know what it really is. It's basically a centrifuge. That is no joke, I mean military pilots and astronauts train on it, it's not just for anyone. If people knew what it was before they got it, they would be less anxious. I bet half the people think they're getting on another kiddy Disney ride then they have their bodies sucked into the back of their seats,
essel23fly my dad went on this ride like 8 years ago and was sent to the hospital afterwards. He underwent heart surgery a very long time ago but never thought it would affect him at the time, but boy was he wrong. Ended up being sent to the hospital after this ride.
DO NOT GO ON WITH A HEADACHE, I did that and I didn't want to tell anyone otherwise I would waste their time, so I had to endure it, and I instantly regretted it. And the fact that cold air conditioning is blown at my face and the fact that gives my head hurt didn't make things any better.
I wasn’t scared of this ride at all but when the take off started I think I passed out? It made me very sick and pale and i lost feeling in my arms and hands for a while afterwards. No idea why. Did not enjoy but I can imagine why it’s fun for others.
I went there in January... I did this ride twice (Orange). Whoa! My niece, which is 4 years old, did it as well. How the heck did she love this? 2 times is too much!
If I cannot handle riding something like the tea cup ride because of motion sickness, is this worse? I love rollercoasters and loved the zipper ride at the carnival. How bad is it even on green?
I rode the original one that someone died on and then they turned down the g force. I was only 6 years old and it was the most intense thing I’ve ever experienced.
I thought I could ride the orange since the green was fun, boost the thrill up a notch. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!😱Worst experience EVER! 😵For a moment I thought I just might die and actually prayed for my boys safety. 😪I felt like my lungs were going to explode while the air was being sucked out of the ride, and the nausea was real bad. So many horrible feelings my brain couldn't even make sense of them.😶I don't know what the hek they do but I will never ever take those warning signs for granted.
Andrea Munoz Air is not taken out of the capsule at any time.. The forces you felt during the ride are produced by the ride capsule being spun around quickly in a circle, causing you to be pressed into the back of your seat... Research it a bit and try it again, and you will probably find it to be a much more enjoyable experience.
And that is the bad part. Don’t think Disney’s rides are family friendly cause they are at Disney. Also, to answer your question, Disney’s warning signs are there to protect you. You should keep that in mind for all theme parks and don’t judge the rides based on what park they are at.
@@inn0version727 whatever, that's what it felt like, not a good feeling, air out or not. You want me to do research? For what?! The feeling will not change because I have a better background on the ride or because I know how the thing works.😐I rode the thing and did not like it, first hand account.
@@thesfsguy6248 Yes, I did not take the signs as seriously as I should've. The signs were everywhere, very in your face, but I did not listen. Learned my lesson.😳I always check the rides before putting my kids or mother on them, but like I said we rode this one (not my mom or little one) and it was fine, I didn't think "upgrading" the intensity would be as it was.😪Thanks!
went on it for the first time. as someone who is afraid of rollercoasters and thrills. it wasn't as bad as I expected. sure it fucked me up for a good 15-20 mins after the ride. but that was because I had butterflies in my stomach and needed to sit down and relax before the next ride like fast track. the only thing that did scared me was take off. I had to scream just to let it all out and not be afraid which did worked and after take off it wasn't bad at all! would I do it again? sure. but this time ill do green since I never done green and only did orange.
I haven’t been on this since my last trip to Disney world (it was October 2015) and I don’t remember the color I was in but I was freaking out and panicking the whole time I rode it and I was so glad when I got off of it, I’m going again to Disney in 2020 and I remember everything from this ride and I swear that I’m not going on this again
To all the people who haven’t tried this: I am EXTREMELY scared of rides but since I am a huge space fanatic, I went on this ride and trust me it was an amazing experience! I went there like a million times again afterwards. Yeah of course you’re gonna get 2.5G’s but thats what makes it so much amazing cause for a second there, you’ll feel like an astronaut. I really wish this ride was longer.
Are you allowed to take pictures or videotape on this ride? There are no announcements saying you can't? Did the cast member see you with the camera? How do you tape on the more intense version of mission space without getting motion sickness?
I was screaming on that ride IM GONNA THROW UP about 5 times me and my mom got sick on that. I’m don’t usually get motion sick but I’m going back to Disney in June and good thing this ride is closed. I’m also worried about ridding the tower of terror. Any tips?
I think the Tower of Terror was much as a challenge for me. I like strong emotions, and I felt my heart leaving my body for a moment, but I loved it anyways
People MUST get the advices seriously before de orange ride to mars. I loved it, not so my wife kkk. The Nasa's astronauts confirmed that is so much realistic ride, mainly the claustrofhobics details on a real spacial journey
L they are basically being turned and shaken every second. I’m pretty sure the orange team even goes upside down. If I you ever go on this ride (mission space) you should definitely do the green team first. It’s a lot less intense. Hope this helped ☺️
i dont see why people are complaining about it, i genuinely like it, i went on it for the first time yesterday and i loved it coming from a Disney regular
Nicholai Bush it depends who you are. I love speed but hate drops and g-force. I almost died on this ride. The rockin roller coaster is my favorite! I never thought I would say this since I absolutely hate roller coasters. It's the best time of my life
I don't think so. they make the ride so smooth that it doesn't even feel like you are spinning but more like you are going really fast forwards. I didn't even know we were spinning when I rode it lol
Thank you for this. It really isn't at all what I was thinking. I could do this. We used to do silly silo all day long and puke and do it again. Kids are so resilent.
When i went on that i was scared like no tomorrow cause i got pretty bad motion sickness but it was cool after lift off and my sister had to make me go on the orange team
@@pottong2255 2 people definitely died as a result of this ride aggravating pre-existing conditions. It's not hard to find information on those cases. They were publicized in the news, and plenty of articles still exist online. Hell, there are links and details on the Wikipedia page for Mission: Space. You idiot.

this ride was where i had the time of my life, for some reason even adults fear me for that. i rode on it FIVE times. maybe two more as a starter, but i love making jokes on these waiting lines.
I love this ride, pro-tip, keep telling yourself “it’s just a simulator” fear contribute to the sick feeling;)
I don’t know why I loved this ride that much, probably because it’s very realistic because you actually feel the g-forces but my favorite ride is the hulk and mako
Jordan Rucksack 123 which is more intense hulk or this
Joseph’s Ponce hulk, pulls an amazing 4.5 G’s
Shadow Builds i rode the hulk and i was perfectly fine but i see a lot of people comment they felt sick after mission space do you think i’ll feel sick in mission space ?
Just did this over the weekend. My favorite. Loved it!
Kid- “thaw was awesome”
Me- “am I dying right now?”
The g-force made my eyelids heavy and almost made me pass out. 😞
ItzLarrah This was probably caused by you leaning forward, which instead of pushing you into your seat, pushes blood out of your head.
ItzLarrah You probably had a grey out
I was so excited for this ride because I love simulators...
Carly Turner I had a panic attack as well and almost passed out at one point I hated it so much!!!
Pussy it’s only 2.5g calm down
DO NOT GO ON WITH A HEADACHE, I did that and I didn't want to tell anyone otherwise I would waste their time, so I had to endure it, and I instantly regretted it. And the fact that cold air conditioning is blown at my face and the fact that gives my head hurt didn't make things any better.
They let you record?? What camera and or mounts did you use??
Konstantin Metz They let you record everything at Disney just no flash photography or external lights.
My 6 year old loved this ride . We rode it twice in a row , he wanted to do it again but I was done
why did i click to see a kid
i rode the orange my first time riding it when i was 10 i loved it
emsthetics same
I wasn’t scared of this ride at all but when the take off started I think I passed out? It made me very sick and pale and i lost feeling in my arms and hands for a while afterwards. No idea why. Did not enjoy but I can imagine why it’s fun for others.
defenitly do green team before this one!!!!their is a huge diffrence beetween the 2 tho so read the warning signs!
I went there in January... I did this ride twice (Orange). Whoa! My niece, which is 4 years old, did it as well. How the heck did she love this? 2 times is too much!
HUGE props for her
If I cannot handle riding something like the tea cup ride because of motion sickness, is this worse? I love rollercoasters and loved the zipper ride at the carnival. How bad is it even on green?
I wasn’t ready for the G force this ride threw at me. Was really close to passing out
I rode the original one that someone died on and then they turned down the g force. I was only 6 years old and it was the most intense thing I’ve ever experienced.
I can normally take most rides, but I did this with a hangover.....Bad idea...lol....
Gp
Bruh the orange version was THE BEST experience i ever had, i just had to do it 3 more times with my lil bro(which me did).
oh and the G's it produced was the best.
Really intense ride DO Not do it if you are claustrophobic or hate very tiny spaces I freaked out all the way
Anyone else get on the orange and didn't think it was intense?
went on it for the first time.
as someone who is afraid of rollercoasters and thrills.
it wasn't as bad as I expected. sure it fucked me up for a good 15-20 mins after the ride.
but that was because I had butterflies in my stomach and needed to sit down and relax before the next ride like fast track.
the only thing that did scared me was take off.
This was the green side not the orange?
To all the people who haven’t tried this: I am EXTREMELY scared of rides but since I am a huge space fanatic, I went on this ride and trust me it was an amazing experience! I went there like a million times again afterwards. Yeah of course you’re gonna get 2.5G’s but thats what makes it so much amazing cause for a second there, you’ll feel like an astronaut. I really wish this ride was longer.
I was feeling so dizzy and twisty when I got off when I rode test track after I almost fell off because I was still dizzy
I think it would be a bit scary if they didn't check the restraint.
Funland and Adventure land Rct 3 parks don't wory the front of the simulator comes forward too far for the restraint to open completely
You'd just be stuck there from the Gs anyways. Like Gravitron, Rotor, Round up, Satellite, etc.
Are you allowed to take pictures or videotape on this ride? There are no announcements saying you can't? Did the cast member see you with the camera? How do you tape on the more intense version of mission space without getting motion sickness?
What happens when buttons arnt pressed
It says something like "auto pilot activated" and the button just lights up itself so really nothing
Mike Gillis it doesnt say anything it just keeps on going lol the buttons are just for show
Mike Gillis it says "computer override" and the ride goes on normally
I rode it when I was 10...I almost barfed
Yup
GREEN EARTH TEAM IS WAYY BETTER THIS GIVES ME A HEADACHE
I've never rode this ride before. How does this have any g force? What's happening??
L they are basically being turned and shaken every second. I’m pretty sure the orange team even goes upside down. If I you ever go on this ride (mission space) you should definitely do the green team first. It’s a lot less intense. Hope this helped ☺️
I went to this ride in 2019. For me it was no big deal, any roller coaster is more intense than this ride
When the rocket started to launch I get like I was being pushed through my seat
i felt motion sickness the whole day after this fricken ride.
This ride squeezed my stomach until it detached and shot from my body and landed on the floor
You mean... felt?
@@dinobakstor7864 No, he doesn't.
@@rusty4640 uh oh
It's a sustained 2.5G, you'll get higher G-Force in the corner of roller coasters but it's for half a second
i dont see why people are complaining about it, i genuinely like it, i went on it for the first time yesterday and i loved it coming from a Disney regular
I didn't see anything moving in this ride
+Bryan Levy The whole thing is moving at around 3-5G's in a spinning motion. You wont see anything spinning cause
you are inside of it.
Amiibo Dad and Kid 2.5gs
My elderly parents died on either side of me during the ride.
RIP.
Great ride though.
WHAT there is no evidence lol wdym bro
Does the green one spin in circles too? I have a heart condition and I don't want something as intense as this. Thank you!
Meagan's Make Up Travel Vlogs!! Nope! 👍
Don’t worry! The green is very easygoing you should be fine! Good luck and have a great time!!
Lily Buonaiuto thank you!!
Green doesn't spin. It does everything else the same, but no spinning. Just tilting like other simulators.
The green was really fun, you’ll be ok :)
it just is so shakey it hurts! ouch🎢
yeah i went on this and when i got off i was white as a ghost haha i was so confused on how , didnt know i was going thru some G's
now he needs to ride tower of terror and rockin rollercaster
No, this is Far more intense than both of those combined!
Nicholai Bush it depends who you are. I love speed but hate drops and g-force. I almost died on this ride. The rockin roller coaster is my favorite! I never thought I would say this since I absolutely hate roller coasters. It's the best time of my life
@@carlyturner3664 i dont like big rollercoasters either like the hulk and rip ride rockit, is rockin roller coaster not bad?
This isn't the orange version. I can tell. Your camera would have gone a lot more crazy.
I don't think so. they make the ride so smooth that it doesn't even feel like you are spinning but more like you are going really fast forwards. I didn't even know we were spinning when I rode it lol
I agree.
I must be crazy but, I loved this ride!
Thank you for this. It really isn't at all what I was thinking. I could do this. We used to do silly silo all day long and puke and do it again. Kids are so resilent.
How intense is it
Very intense
Is the spinning part like the ufo ride or worse
My friend says it's the same but I'm still hesitant.
I get nervous just watching 😅
When i went on that i was scared like no tomorrow cause i got pretty bad motion sickness but it was cool after lift off and my sister had to make me go on the orange team
This ride wouldn’t be intense for ex fighter pilots
Loved this ride, Glad i did the orange instead :D
Sooo do green?
I did this its so awesome 1000000000000000000000 thumps up but if you don't like ruff rides do team green if you u like ruff team orange is u
***** I hope you like it but the orange does full loops
***** lol have fun
***** I think it does all if I remember right. But I don't think its that bad. I was fine with it and I hate that type of stuff,
I love this ride so intense
I'm going on it on spring break
You can do it buddy!
I am really scared for this one, but after watching this video I cain't wait! I'm going june18
hey thats my birthday
How was it 5 years ago?
どういう構造でどんな仕組みなんだろうか😮
I'm so going on this it looks awesome btw I'm not scared of the,e parks and water parks
i blacked out during parts of the ride
LOL THAT LOOKS LIKE CHUKE CHEESE
DC KIDZ LOL
I did that.
Its not as bad as you guys say
u couldn't feel my bones

Is it true people died on here?
Keep going Jade!
the sound is very low
not Orlando Florida -_-
Freeken worst ride ever!!!! LOL Did it a week ago...felt so bad after but i didnt die!
He has my name
Jude Ghacibeh i could tell
How
fyi two people died on this
No one died on it you idiot. If anyone died on the ride, they would have shut the ride or even the park down
@@pottong2255 2 people definitely died as a result of this ride aggravating pre-existing conditions. It's not hard to find information on those cases. They were publicized in the news, and plenty of articles still exist online. Hell, there are links and details on the Wikipedia page for Mission: Space.
You idiot.
No that was green I was in both
Liar
SJF2003 gamer i agree, the camera would have fallen on orange cos it goes vertical
+VenomousRuler272 lol every coaster video I watch I always see a comment from u lol
The markings on ground are Orange. I think the camera was held well.
I have do
I d’ont speake english
