@@JacopoDiGiuli the 35mm GM was his favorite 35mm and the Sigma 85mm f1.4 was the 85mm king, with the Sony GM not far behind and Tokina being the best budget option
5:11 what the heck ! Never saw that on my 3 copies of the Sigma 50mm 1.4 HSM : I love this lens and sigma kindly updated the firmware every time needed. I own 2 copies for my Nikons and one for Sony Alpha : it really shines with CCD cameras, it looks magical !
I own the Sigma 50 1,4 dg hsm and love it. Bought it almost brand new for 500$ and wouldn't change it. Also tested it and i don't have any of that horrible purple fringing you got on your copy.
Crazy you can see at 3:42 the STRONG chromatic abboration on the new 50mm, and you could see just before that, it clearly has less round bokeh near the edges. I dont know how on earth you give them equal bokeh. The old one is clearly better.

I tested all Sony 135 1.8 lenses and I found that the Samyang is waay more smaller and ligher and also had better af. So you can surely go 4 it ! PS: I finnaly got the 135 Sony G master because it had the BEST af out of all lenses and also the best IQ(but the Samy was a close second) and also I got a verry good deal on it (1500euros).

But if you are a pro be aware, the Sony is much better at critical focus, I have almost 100% results with it and it's FAST ! The Samyang is great if you are not in a hurry and you don't make money with it. I had missed shots in the past with third party lenses who were awsome, but when I saw them on the pc I was angry ! ... Take the 35 1.4 for example, I bought a Sigma 35 1.4 DG(new version) and I returned it after one week, because it was just not reliable ! About a quarter of pictures taken with it were more or less out of focus(I tested 3 lenses btw and all had problems focusing) ! The Sony 35 1.4 is much, much, much better in comparison, almost 100% results, just like the 135 GM ! :)
@@CosminCraiova I think Sony makes sure that competitor lenses are misfocusing 30% of the time , the lens does what the camera is telling it to do. Sony should be taken court.
I'm looking at getting the older model as the new model doesn't support f mount and as I'm intending on getting a nikon D850 in the future the older version is my only option.

Very marginal improvements - still looks like the new one has horrible green fringing on the tree branches too. Keen to see what the soon to be announced sony 50mm 1.4 GM has to offer but I don't see me being tempted by this at all unfortunately.

Idk I'm just pretty underwhelmed here. Not psyched about the lemon bokeh in the corners and the fringing is still quite bad. The fact that focus breathing is even worse is just awful.

À 3:35 minutes ont voit bien que le bokeh est plus rond avec l'ancien et qu'il y a plus d'aberration chromatique sur le nouveau. Ça se confirme à 4:06 où les aberrations chromatiques sont beaucoup plus prononcées sur le nouveau, à tel point que je pense qu'aucune bande blanche est réellement blanche ! Pour moi qui utilise principalement mon objectif à 1.4 je préfère l'ancien ! Thank you for this test which allows me to see that the new 50mm 1.4 art is not better than the old one. At 3:35 minutes we can see that the bokeh is rounder with the old one and that there is more chromatic aberration on the new one. This is confirmed at 4:06 where the chromatic aberrations are much more pronounced on the new one, so much so that I think that no white band is really white! For me, who mainly uses my 1.4 lens, I prefer the old one!
These are the worst camera and lens reviews. And that’s why I keep coming back for more. 😂 I think the Sigma will be a great option, pending comparison to the upcoming 50 GM

I think I'll stick with the awesome 55mm 1.8. I've still seen no reason to upgrade, even to the 50mm 1.2GM lens.

I think you should have compared it to the Zeiss 1.8 (as it remains the best value-for-money competitor out there). Maybe in a next video?

There isn't a 50 GM I f/1.4 yet. The whole concept of a 50mm 1.4 GM and a 50mm 1.2 GM would be new.

It's not sharp on f1.4 at all, so soft image, it just sharp higher than f2.8
