Also note those breakers are rated max for temperature 40C, chich in thailand in boxes with inverter might exceed.

WARNING: Polarized double DC-Breakers have magnets to push the spark into the extinguishing chamber. If the current flows in opposit direction the spark is pushed by the magnets into the mechanism instead the extinguishing chamber and they immediately catch on fire! Often people connect them in the wrong way when comming with the Source from Bellow instead from top, cause if for example the + symbol is printed on top RIGHT side in the schematic picture on the breaker, the + then must be connected to the LEFT side. The current flow allways must go from + to - and of course the + stay a + even it leaves the breaker through the terminal which is marked with a - symbol .
Cause in past many wrong connected breakers led to fires, some paper pushers forbidden polarized DC-breakers and manufactuers just build them without magnets since and decreased the voltage rating, which worsten the quality of DC-breakers and lead to damages as you show now.
Also its important to preload the capacitors at battery input in MPPT or hybrid inverters. I have fix mounted a tactile button accross my single breaker with a 100 Ohm 5 Watt resistor, which I push for about 5 seconds previously I switch on the breaker. This prevents any damage at breaker and capacitors.
Of course polarised DC-breakers can not be used in bidirectional applications, such as battery input/outputs from hybrid inverters.

15000ka Arch fault capacity Roland? We use blade porcelain fuses in a dc spark splash protected hinged fuse carrier and base.
    Bullet proof
We use Eaton power ware MCB breakers 10Ka for cellular DC100 amp 48v power systems.

You are lucky in Canada a 50 amp breaker is worth $70 so when they go it gets expensive.

wow. but i guess the Canadian breaker will be a better quality and not die this soon then :)

My not so cheap chinese brekaer rated 125A failed under 50A, turns out it was loose internal connection, never had problems with Schneider, abb, simens and they arent too expensive in India.

Thanks for the video. This is Chinese for sure but what brand exactly? I learnt the Chinese Chint brand for example is as good as the European Siemens, Schneider and ABB breakers.

This one was a Tomzn which I usually have good experience with. I don't know if I tried CHNT already. Will try it one day. Chinese items are very hard to judge. Most of them are built in the same factory and just branded differently. I think I have a new favorite brand which is Geya. The stuff which I have from them feels quite good...until its proven differently... :) Thanks for the tip!

@@RolandW_DIYEnergyandMore I have a few Tomzn breakers, an RCBO on the outlet didn't disconnect when tested. Sadly I think that they are a bit hit and miss with their quality.

That is a crap circuit breaker, get a European brand one like Schneider, siemens or install a good hrc fuse.

Yes, Brand DC breakers are hard to get here. I can buy Siemens or ABB AC breakers in Thailand only. A fuse might be a good solution. Thanks.

@@RolandW_DIYEnergyandMore most ac breakers are rated 12-60VDC per pole, please check datasheet but my ABB one is rated for ELV DC.

@@tanishqbhaiji103 just looked up an ABB S202M AC 400V breaker which i could buy in Thailand. They can be used alternatively with DC up to 125V. It costs around 15 USD which is acceptable and affordable.
