Only people who know nothing about sports and never played them are trying to compare Caitlin Clark with all the mens players in history. Beyond stupid and wrong.
Game changer, I've never seen a college female player like her, not that I've watched that closely. What's impressive is her confidence shooting the three, her overall court vision in regards to finding her teammates, ...she's for real!
Her and Steph....very inspirational. Can learn something from both. You don't need to be the most athletically dominant player to dominate the game. Caitlin's passing abilities have me taking notes too.
Incredible player. Reminds me so much of Steph's skillset, but for the women's game. Incredibly dominant, range is endless, can finish with both hands, and amazing vision/passing ability

Caitlin is the greatest player to me because of the talent level she had at Iowa compared to the top programs and she was able to bring that team to he title game twice. But I think the player who had the greatest season ever is still Jackie Stiles. She put Southwest Missouri State (now Missouri State) on the map taking them to the Final Four in 2001. Missouri State isn't even a Power 5 school and Jackie put them on her back. I don't remember the last time a mid major made the Final Four.
Saturday, Feb 21, 1970. Dan Issel gets 51 points for Kentucky, Maravich gets 64 for LSU. He was 23-42 from the field, 18-22 from the line. Kentucky won at LSU 121-105 with no shot clock and no 3-point line.
The short answer is yes she is the greatest woman's player in college basketball history but it is impossible to say if she is greatest player college basketball player ever without agreeing on the criteria. The most ACCOMPLISHED college basketball players ever are obviously Breanna Stewart and Lew Alcinder/Kareem Abdul Jabber, but that doesn't necessarily make them the best. I happen to think that Jabbar is the best men's college player ever but both Jabber and Stewart had a lot of help from their teammates (and coaches) in their college careers. Could Stewart have led that Iowa team without Clark to the National Finals last year? I don't think so. Would Clark have won multiple National Titles if you replaced her for Stewart on those stacked Connecticut teams? I think the obvious answer is yes. So where does that leave you? I'm going with the eyeball test and to me the last 2 years she is playing at a higher level than any woman is college basketball history (and she means more to her team than any woman in history). Until last year I thought Cheryl Miller was the best woman player I ever saw but now I think Clark is better, and I think she will be seen as the greatest woman player ever after a dozen years in the WNBA (barring major injuries like happened to Miller). It is hard enough to compare players from different generations but to compare men with women is nearly impossible. But for me to say that she is the greatest college basketball player ever I would have to conclude that the difference between Clark and either Miller or Stewart is greater than the difference between Jabbar and whoever is the second greatest men's college player ever (Maravich, Russell, Walton, Robertson, take your pick). And as big as a Clark fan as I am, that is a bridge too far even for me.
I believe Kareem is undoubtedly the great college player ever, he was more than just his stats and awards. He was so clearly better than every player on the floor every game he played it was completely unfair. He could’ve gone straight to the league and still been a star he was that good. I mean he came in and finished 3rd in MVP his roomie year, it was a man amongst boys for 4 dominant years. I dunno. Having a great jump shot just isn’t enough. You must play defense against players that jump higher, run faster, and are stronger than she would be. Still, I would love to see it.
Absolutely fucking not. She is easily the best player in women’s basketball but you are out of your fucking mind if you think she can play in the NBA. Pistol Pete Maravich was the greatest college player ever...go watch his highlights after this one, if you don't believe me. This was possibly the greatest female player in college basketball history though.
