I LOVE Beth Nielsen Chapman! And I love her Smile; it’s so fun and loving and flirtatious 💞 My favorite song is ‘I Keep Coming Back To You,’ also, ‘Sand and Water!’ God Bless 🙏
I've listened to your music forever and couldn't understand where on earth it came from. Now I understand a little bit more 🙂. Wonderful. Thank you for being you 🙂🎸🙂
Pound for pound the BEST songwriter in the business...hands down....she has begun to age in the 90s when she was in her 30s she was gorgeous.....mu personal fav female recording artist...along with Karen Carpenter
I listened to Beth sing a lot of Carly Simon while I drank bowling alley beer down in Montgomery way back when. She was always great. I used to quiz her on what kind of acoustic guitar pickup was using as she changed from one to another. Great artist and a great lady.
Not being very exposed to Nashville music, I had never heard of Beth. This interview opened my eyes on several aspects that I will / can use for my own business (I am setting up my own company. Nothing to do with music). Very inspiring. Probably my favourite of the whole series. Thank you!
Met a wonderful group of creatives through an Artist's Way workshop over the last few months. We were together through Week 10 of 12 when the coronavirus shutdown interfered with our ability to meet in our weekly session. Elton John's reverence for "Sand and Water" sent me here, and I am so glad! Sending a link to this video to my Artist's Way pals.
Wonderful, from start to finish. Talent, wisdom, beauty and modesty encapsulated; anyway enough about Dom. ( I accept credit card ) I think that this should be broadcast to the masses, perhaps then the world would learn something good. Thanks Dom.
Man this has inspiring me to start writing again I wrote a few poetic things and songs not publicize just for my own self sense of stimulateing joy. It’s true like you have to shut everything out and and go back-and-forth like she says I’ve always thought I could be good writer of songs I wrote one for my brothers band back in my day when I was doing lights for them they took the lyrics I wrote and just blew me away how they made the song and it actually sort of sounded like I would like it to sound it’s weird . I wanted to be a writer but instead of writing I took the The doubtful side I cant do this Because I’m not educated and I have a hard time spelling and I get the deterred instead of the inspiration that I could do it .This has actually been a good session for me thank you and I just started listening to her this year and I loved everything I found by her she has truly gave me hope and I have to use that catch phrase just to do it great interview
When I first started writing songs about a thousand years ago, I thought I was the next Dylan. Of course, I had no clue what I was doing, but it all flowed out of me. The, I suck, voice wasn't with me back then. Thirty years later, that voice is loud and it has stifled my creativity. From a technical standpoint, I'm better at songwriting, but I'm also more self-conscious. Still trying to find the balance between child-like creativity and technical skill. Right now, the brain is getting in the way of the heart.
It just goes to show how not all songwriters have the same advice. She says "The last thing you want to try to do is write a hit" . Max Martin the 3r most Successful songwriter in the world who has 23 No1 Hits to his name said that you need to write each song to be a Hit record.
I just love you Beth....since high school...you are so blessed...so full of life's gifts
