I used exactly the same units for my Ford Custom but I used a hole saw and drilled 2 rows of holes in all the side pieces just to take some weight out. I made my own drawer fronts out of MDF as they finished up non standard sizes but did use the standard drawer kits. 3 years on its still working a treat.
That’s spot on that is dude. IKEA stuff is pretty good quality usually so hopefully it stands up. My bab came down while i was watching and said hang on isn’t that your mate 🤣🤣 I said it’s Jake who put the camp on at Nash he said yeah I remember well you look like you have a lot in common. Kids got to love them
awesome mate, looks cracking! I did the same with my build, although not as well planned as you lol. I'm actually ripping mine out in a bit and planning a little better!
Just got exactly the same and same green. Got a thinner worktop though. We got 2 600mm wide and 1 300mm wide for my LWB Custom. 370mm deep. 1/3 of the price of a pod.
I’m going through the same dilemma now as whether to buy specific campervan pods or go the ikea route. I think you may have made my decision as it’s much MUCH cheaper 👍
I thought about an Ikea kitchen for my van but decided I could build something much stronger in real wood. Made my own drawers and doors, not that hard and much cheaper. Also made the rear panels removable so I can get access to work on the sliding door internals (to renew handle cables etc). Don't forget you need to have a gas drop vent below the burners, I built mine into the structure, a sealed box below burners with a drop down one end to a vent in the floor.
That’s boss mate You and bug out UK got me wanting to get rid of the LANDY and get in to these vans they look epic Seen a couple round by us to and juts makes me want one even more lol 😂
Haha 😂 there worth it if you have the money mate. Just makes more sense with what we do and the whether we have in the UK. I’m mean I’m still gonna use the Landy on some trips
@@Jakesoverlandadventures it’s why I want to be able to camp in the D2 in the winter ❄️ and I finally made a start but not sure it works with what I want Been looking at loads of options but keep coming back to stay in the vehicle and I feel the 4wd van is way Lot of money yeah but I think it would benefit definitely lol 😂 as I think it will you as well with family ext
@@NORTHWEST4X4ADVENTURES yeah agree mate, tbh me and Rich said the same we think over the next few years a lot of Landy people will be heading over to the 4x4 vans for sure e
Great video mate we have done just about everything as the same 😂 how cool are the led side markers 👌 I thing we even got the same led mounts from ebay
@Jakesoverlandadventures give me shout if you come up to Scotland with the sprinter would love meet up and get a night's camping 🤝 I'm on the 4x4 sprinter page
Thanks bud, don’t want induction due to most of them being touch less and don’t want the kids burning my van down haha Also everything else in the van is electric so if there was a problem with it I still want to be able to cook etc hope that makes sense

Spot on. Sounds good a great idea of losing some weight of it 👍
That's really good. I've been thinking of the same approach. I'll now look closer at this. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks
Timber trim that matches the worktop would look stunning round the base.
Not a bad shout that, thanks 👍

Btw where did you get the tweed trim ? Is it a stretch product?
Thanks, im sure it was off Ebay and no it definatley doesn't stretch i know that now. haha
Thats the nuts mate ..👍
Cherz dude 👍
Looks good Jake but why you going with a Gas Hob? What about an induction Hob?

Thanks for the Reply, Yes mate 100% Sense.
Where did you get your tweed trim , is it glued to 5mm ply?
It was of eBay bud and it’s glued on 3mm hard board 👍
What's the name of the range for this unit please?
Bang on. Seats in the back and you will see the lay out.
Cherz mate, yeah that’s the next step
But you can’t compare MDF against lightweight ply in cost…it’s like comparing steel and aluminium…
Very true bud, if it does me a few years I’ll be happy
At that price NO way £600, especially since your going off road . 🤔🏴
I have friends spending over £1500 and still taking them off road
How much did the Pod cost ?
Watch the video i tell you
Yep just re-watched.
How much was it bro
Watch the video I tell you
how the hell can you absolutely milk this simple job for so long lol
