"I have a doubt for you. As a non "study" guy, that is going to work in a warehouse with accomodation ( that is sleeping in a room with another person, wich I think it is absurd, imagine : I get the BSN, start the job. Am in that "room" with some one else ( like a jail) after and before work. Is is possible for me to find a room outside the agency? Or I will be blocked, because I have no address, or enought time in the country ?
Or are there alternatives, like talking with some one in the village or coffe "Do you know who has a room to rent?". Thanks in advance."

Hey! Well done! Your videos are very properly detailed and helpful. I shall be moving to the Netherlands due to work and will be starting my job in the beginning of October.
I was thinking of actually try and have the accommodation sorted out by then but after having a look at your videos and also funda, I can see that the starting dates are rarely mentioned.
What are your suggestions? Do you believe that the only way to rent a place is to actually be present in the Netherlands and attend viewings?

Yeah, in my opinion it's the only proper way. I would ask your job to provide temporary housing for a month.
You can try and find online, my friends did it, but it was extremely hard, and they spend so much time doing this. Also, they've been looking in any city in the country so the selection was wider.

I did ask my job company for a temporary accommodation but it was declined unfortunately. So now I am planning of moving the the NL 2 weeks before my starting date and hopefully I manage to find something during those 2 weeks. Fingers crossed!
@@andreborg127 Good luck! Which city are you moving to? I think it's possible for 2 weeks. Maybe start applying a few days before you move.
@@dpashutskii I am quite flexible to be honest. I shall be working in Hoofddorp and at first I am expected to visit the office quite often but hopefully that will change by time :)
I used mapitout as mentioned in your video and that was very helpful! Basically I am open to stay in places like outside Amsterdam city, Haarlem and Leiden as well. The Hague is also an option as long as the commuting time is within 45 mins to Hoofddorp :)
Got it. Yeah, there are many small towns around Amsterdam area that close to Hoofddorp. Small cities in the Netherlands are pretty awesome so take a look at them as well.
Very instructive video! What is your opinion about hiring a relocation agent/expat agent to help with the process? I am moving to Netherlands in two mouths and with the help of contacts with the company I will be working for, a relocation agent was refered to me. Of course, there are additional fees to pay to the agent (i.e., one month rent + 21% VAT), but if you can afford it, is it worth it? I guess I will know part of the answer in few months, but from what I understand they handle/help the viewings, applications, and contract review. Thanks.
To be honest, I have never had experience with them. To me, it seems a little redundant because how easy and simple everything in the Netherlands. But if you want to free up some time for the money, why not?

One question, have you heard about getting your 1st rental contract with European passport and with a working contract in another country? And with dog😅.
For example, husband works by shifts in Norway and I will be stay full time and looking for a job in the Netherland. We don't prefer main cities/ city centers.

Dogs are certainly make it harder to find a place. Not impossible but you should be able to lower the expectations. I think it's pretty much true in any country in the world.
Passport doesn't matter much but the foreign job that's an interesting case but the most important thing should be you legality. If you have a proper contract, you can proof your income and you pay taxes in Holland it shouldn't be an issue. But unfortunately you might be considered as less desired tenant compared to people who have Dutch contracts.

Thank you for the video(s). I am in talks with my employer about moving to NL from US. Is it impossible to find an apartment or house for rent that accepts dogs? So many listings so no pets. Is having (and wanting to keep) your pet(s) a deal breaker?
It is possible but it'll be just harder.
I would think in advance where you're gonna be living with pets when you're looking for an apartment. It's not just The Netherlands. Finding a place with pets is hard everywhere.
people in the Netherlands love their dogs.. but sadly.. due to a lot of anal uptight renters (and landlords) .. it has become more strict.
but it is possible. i have the same issue. i have 2 dogs and a cat and i need a yard.. and it is super difficult to find anything.
Imagine that you have found the perfect place where you live in Netherlands with your pats. Just imagine, put yourself right into the state desired. How do you feel? You should feel joy, relief, appreciation, contentment. This is the feeling. See in your mind's eye what you want to see: how many rooms, a yeard/ no yard, the kitchen big/ medium/ small, etc. Design your place as you wish, don't limit yourself, because you are limiting God. Go to sleep every night in your new reality, feel it, feel the joy and the relief that it is so now( even if it is not manifested in 3d.). Every day when you think about it, feel the gratitude that it is so now. Ignore the senses, what other people say, or that it is hard to find what you want. Just live as though it were true. If you live in the end, then you can't think that it is hard to find a place for me and my Pat's. It's either one state( where you have your new place), or the other state( where you are desperate, trying to find your new place). This feeling ( OF POSSESSION of the thing you want) will create circumstances and conditions in order for you to experience the new state of mind( of having your perfect place with your pats) on Earth. Just trust completely the imagination. Know that if you imagined and it felt real, meaning.... you entered the new state., then IT IS DONE. You will be moved under compulsion about what to do next. Don't try to figure out.
Imagine how your pats are playing in the yard, or how you call your family members and say to them: "I am so happy in my new place here in Netherlands, it is so perfect, so beautiful."
If you construct a dialogue, like above, a scene ,which would imply that your wish is already fulfilled and trust it completely ( this short scene) then no power on Earth can stop it from becoming manifested in your world ( which you create always in your mind). You create your own reality with your beliefs, your imagination, your inner dialogues. You always did it, it's just till now you occupied unwanted states unconsciously. Now start to be a deliberate creator. CHOOSE what you want to see in your world, walk in the desired state no matter the outer evidences and you will see how the Universe will do magic for you.
And know : what you believe to be true will be true for. If you believe "it is hard to find such a place for living"....the the Universe will confirm it. If you believe "it is always easy for me to find the perfect appartment for me and my pats" ....then it will be so. Don't look at other people. They also have confirmation of what they believe, accept as true for them. Don't conform to the outer world. It just reflects your inner beliefs, your inner world. It's a mirror.
Start having your power back.
" I KNOW THAT EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS WORKING OUT FOR ME".
" I KNOW THAT ONLY GOOD THINGS COME INTO MY LIFE".
See? If you will walk as a being who KNOWS what wrote above to be true....then your life will reflect automatically this KNOWING.
"To believe "is still no so powerful.
But when you "know" it must be as you say it.
You don't believe your name is Jane. You KNOW IT. See the difference?

What would be a ball park estimate for a 2 room house in Utrecht? How much time should I have to find such accommodation?
You can check funda and see the prices yourself (www.funda.nl/zoeken/huur?selected_area=%5B%22utrecht%22%5D).
It depends a lot on the area and type of place. If you're talking about 2 bedroom apartment in the city center, it'll be very pricey.
which satellite city near Amsterdam is good to commute by train within a hour?
There is a really cool service where you can research exactly that: mapitout.iamsterdam.com.
In general, all of Amsterdam's satellite cities are within an hour.
How do I actually apply? Do I need to call the renter's phone presented on the Funda's listing or I have to send a message through the site?
I think I talked this over on the video, you can apply either via contact form on Funda or by calling the phone number (usually agency number).
After you contact them, they will let you know what do they need from you.
Does anybody know why would someone need to take the floor with them as they are moving out? They still won't be able to place it down "as is" in the new place, right? The chances the floor from the previous place would fit in the new place are close to zero.
Good question and I honestly don't have an answer except that it's quite common. I assume some people just scrub the floor out and install a new one in the new place.
For all you know... the tenant may have purchased a home and wants the floor in the shack they bought. Sounds like revenge on the landlord, more than anything.
New tennant usually gets the option to "take over" the floor or curtains or similar made to fit things. (sun screens for instance) Usually some money changes hands. But, sometimes the new tennant doesn't want the old stuff, and they want to pick their own style. The landlord doesn't want to be on the hook for the bill of removing old flooring, nor does the new tennant. Sometimes it takes a while to find a new tennant, ....then the floor must be taken out. You need to deliver the dwelling back the way you got it. Also... the really good quality flooring we purchased, ended up moving with us through *three* moves. It's still in my kitchen floor 18 years later. It helps, to buy quality ;-)
Hi are expats also protected by Dutch law? E.g. can one evicted against his will in case the landlord decides to sell the place
All residents of the Netherlands have absolutely the same rights as Dutch citizens except one: you cannot vote for the government. That's it.
We are a family of 3 moving to NL in March,2024. Since we have a toddler, we need to rent an apartment as soon as we reach. With the current market, although search has been on for last 2 months, its very difficult with little to no responses. Is there a way out?
Unfortunately no. At least I don't know the way around it (that's why I bought a property as soon as I could). The rental market is overheated in the NL.
Finding an apartment is quite challenging, but it also depends on your budget, city, and requirements. You can increase the budget, ease out on the requirements, or pick another city, and it might be more accessible.
You can always stay in the hotel for a few months. Finding an apartment while you're abroad is close to impossible.

Where did you get €3000 from this video? €3000 a month is a very expensive rent. There are many people who can afford it but it's still very expensive.

and yes i know.. 3K some people make but still far too much for rent.. i'm dutch.. and left Amsterdam bc of the cost of living.

Ah, you're talking about hotel. It was only for the first month.
You won't find any hotels or Airbnb cheaper than that. It's "affordable" compared to other options for €4-5k. So you have to bite the bullet and find a permanent place as quick as possible.
If you're Dutch, you know the hotel/Airbnb market and regulations, so why do you surprised? ;)
