Very interesting video James! I would be interested in seeing a beginner guide to diode / CO2 differences. But any video on this machine would be great
I had the same frustration with Easel Pro and a generic 3018 from China. The machine had a few quirks and the software had a whole bunch of quirks. The end result is that making money with that combination is very difficult to nearly impossible. But to be honest some projects turned out okay. The major weakness is the number of labor hours the slow 3018 takes even for simple jobs.
I have a cheaper K40 which has been modded to run lightburn. as in introduction it is great. I keep contemplating on gutting it and building a new gantry set up to scale up the size, but for what they cost they are great. Mine cost less than £300 second hand though worked perfectly.
I have the same machine and I agree with all that you've said.I ditched the air assist and used the one I have for my xtool.I also added some better push fit air connectors to make sure there were no leaks in the air line. The only thing that bugs me is how the fan constantly runs. You mentioned a mod for that. What did you do?. Other than that I find it works very well
Laser and rotary CNC market is saturated not only with available CNC machines but also with laser cut and cnc cut products. So the market is saturated and if you are buying for home use how many wooden signs do you really need around your house?
@@JamesDeanDesigns As I know, now the cable and camera it’s a full compatible with LightBurn, so it’s fully functional. It’s true that there is a little gap inside the version two new model, that they correct things. And the cloud it could happened that it’s a bit bugged!
@@javier_rd_ I think the camera is more compatible in the newer version but I know Sam Craft said he was still having issues in his review. Also one issue I found was the camera would only work on a sort cable. If you used a cable over about 1.5m the picture quality degraded, 3m you got no picture at all. I think if they just fix some of those small issues this machine will be epic
From what I understand, most of those issues, if not all of them, have been fixed with the updated version... Which is the Cloud 2? Which isn't the one you show... So why is "GweikeCloud Pro II" in the title? Other than that, kinda weird how they keep sending out the first version to youtubers to review, when it had so many problems.
Because that is what it was sent to me as, the Pro II and therefore that's what I've posted it as. Gweikecloud haven't corrected me either, and actually if you look at some of the recent reviews, most of those issues still exist or have developed into something different. For example people are still having camera issues on the II you're referencing, the air assist was moved inside and does turn off but equally now pulls through dirty air as a result
CAUTION: DO NOT purchase the Gweike Cloud with camera if you intend to use it with Lightburn. Setting up the camera with Lightburn is virtually impossible, let alone aligning it. No one tells you all this, but as a victim I will make a video and let everyone know the problem with camera alignment. DO NOT BUY, you are wasting your money. the support only knows how to repeat the same phrase: Do the alignment procedure again...And this would be a "professional" laser company"????!!!! They are all very helpful, but the solution is not to be found. We have been banging our heads for 3 days, NOTHING,one blames the other. Even if lightburn has problems with the camera,or alignment, you are not justified. You should say that it is not easy or impossible to configure the camera on lightburn, and not sell it as compatible. You should have programmed an algorithm,a configuration file,to allow it to be used with lightburn. Now there will be those who will say: I configuarta it...BRAVO!!! But those who do the reviews are not aware of this problem??? Of course they are,but they are making money out of it.Shame on you,T UTTI,a machine that costs 3000.00 Euri not compatible with Lightburn but only with that cloud dump, always if it worksGod bless you.
I'm guessing you're just spamming channels with this message because I do actually point out in my video the issues I had with the camera which suggests you haven't watched it. The camera isn't great but alignment wasn't one of my issues - it did take a bit of time to get the alignment working but ultimately it did work and does what it is supposed to. Also another reasons I can tell you didn't watch my video is I point out up front all the issues I had with the machine so it's not like I am trying to hide anything. Stop trying to tarnish the my channel and video because you're having issues. It doesnt benefit me to lie about the machines...so I don't!
I received my pro Ii in the US about a month ago. Bunch of the issues you said would be corrected in future versions are in fact corrected in the US version of the pro II. This is not a cheap machine, as James says once you get past the little quirks it’s definitely a good producer.
@@JamesDeanDesigns It's not though... I can't say why they'd say they'd send the Pro 2, but send the Pro 1... But on their site, the one they actually selling as the Pro 2 is the Pro 2... The Pro 1 is in their Clearance Sale for a bit cheaper.

Very interesting, I have been thinking about a Gweike 👍

I do like your videos 👍 I nearly ordered this machine but ended up ordering xTool's P2. Will you be looking into the P2 at all?
I sold this laser. One of my biggest regrets, but since I move a lot I couldn’t justify keeping it around.

I would be curious to see you do a review of the OMTech polar
It's the exact same machine... Just a tiny bit different design.
But it's just a rebrand.
Super helpful

Can we mill small and complex Pcbs with 3018 Cnc?
You have all that problems because is the old version. In the newer one they work sooooo well!
I think some are but issue like the camera and the cloud are still in the newer model from the reviews I've seen 😕

“Desktop” is a bit of a stretch. Diner tabletop is more appropriate.
I have this and fox alien Masuter pro on the same table. 72x36 workbench tapletop
😄 you probably are correct, although in comparison to the full size CO2 units, this is pretty small
Poor wiring inside could go up in flames at any time
Send it back before it burns your house down very bad wiring

That is not the Pro II model, but the older original style one (or some hybrid between models).
Its what they are selling as the Pro II model here and certainly gave it to me as the Pro II model. Is all a bit messed up
