    I ever read a comic book. There were 3 students singing. One was melody 1 , second was melody 2, third was like an accompaniment harmony (maybe like a viola) ? She harmonized or maybe made the song kind of perfect and nicer. And in the comic, there was a part when the third felt like she sucked too for her unimportant role 😂 but then her friends help her to gain her confidence. Without her, the melody 1 and 2 are too dominant. And they made a perfect trio harmony in the end.
    I think viola does it too for violins ! It smoothes the song with its few notes. Foods are more delicious with chilli. Maybe sumthing like that 😝

      @@TheSIGHTREADINGProject Well unfortunatley, a lot of the time younger musicians don't understand that viola jokes are all in good fun, and sometimes that can result in bullying. However, it isn't TwoSet's fault for making these kind of jokes, and there is no need for them to clarify or stop making them just because of the minority of people that don't realise they aren't legitimate insults. It just goes to show that a joke can easily go too far, and that there is a clear time for these kind of jokes. Unless somebody is genuinley offended, I see no harm in poking fun at your violist friends, providing that it dosen't go too far and end up hurting people's feelings. So don't worry about the viola jokes on TwoSet violin; they are proffesional musicians and it is all in good fun and is not meant to be taken seriously.

    • @TheSIGHTREADINGProject
      @TheSIGHTREADINGProject 5 років тому +13

      Maisie B - I see your side and I’ve loved watching TwoSet for 18 months. But where they begin, their comment section follows, taking it further and further - and if I’m starting to find it hostile then surely others are too. There’s a girl in the comments feeling bad about her viola and a school cellist beginner saying he wanted to learn viola and switched to cello because of watching TwoSet. These are youngsters and the ripple effect of the ‘jokes’ is reaching them in real life.
      I also felt uneasy about the treatment of Alma Deutscher, who was 12 at the time. They have even made an ‘INTERESTING’ t-shirt out of her roasting. If I was her parent I’d be fuming. 12 is so sweet and innocent an age and not fair game for public japes
      Much as I like Brett and Eddy, I think it’s important people push back and say something if they think something is out of order (even if it’s only me!). It’s harder to stand up to people you admire and like and so all the more important to take a breath and just do it. It doesn’t mean you don’t like them anymore, just that you didn’t like what they did at a particular point.
      Enjoyed reading your perspective. There’s a lot of wisdom in that too

      @@TheSIGHTREADINGProject That is true - twoset 'memes' can often be very harsh.. but there was an entire 'viola gang' meme. Eddy literally rapped about how the viola was BETTER than violin! Also, they have/do sell viola related merchandise, so that it is more inclusive for all players.
      By the way, in the Alma video: I found it as though they were very impressed with her playing. They mainly said negative things about 90 minutes, (such as the bad cutting which COULD make the video easy to fake) the whole interesting and Bb meme was only reflecting that she was very talented. I mean, it is not easy to improvise stuff in one minute after all.
