- I Do Love You Meme by request~ I did a poll lol, And I've been meaning to do another JD/Heathers meme (Flash warning!!)
This one focuses on JD’s Spiral. He was surprised and unprepared for Chandler’s death, it was something that he didn’t mean to have happen. And with the school’s reaction to her death it opened up a lot of doors to a side of him that he didn’t know how to deal with and was even afraid of. And the reaction to Kurt and Ram’s death only solidified the belief in his deteriorating mental heath that what he was doing actually was helping or proving a point.
Anyway it's very late and I'm very tired lol enjoy!

I've watched this several times and it's just amazing. The idea that JD had these feelings of anger and hatred embedded in him for so long that they terrified him. He knew they were wrong and that they shouldn't be let out. But after how H. Chandler treated Veronica plus the rumor Kurt and Ram started, he just had a moment of "F**ck it, why shouldn't I let this out? If the world doesn't care what it did to me and doesn't care what it's doing to others, then I should help the world understand what's wrong with it." I would love to see more characters like JD in literature or given a new perspective in movies/TV. He's more than just a villain/he suffers from trauma that formed itself into a mental disorder.

EDIT: I've recently gotten out of a toxic relationship. Reading what I wrote feels weird now that I sympathized with J.D in the comment. I feel like I have to change a bit of what I wrote. J.D's childhood shapes him to become the person he is, and though in a way I feel pity for him, I feel bad for Veronica, too. She felt it was genuine, which it was, but it was too much. And neither of them would be able to change the outcome of that, and Veronica has to end up leaving him because she recognizes that it isn't healthy.
ORIGINAL: I really love this video because it really shows that JD isn't a sociopath, even though he seems to be a bit insane. But he really did care for Veronica and if anyone tried to hurt her or talk bad about her, he did anything he could to protect her. She was what kept him living, and she meant so much to him that he didn't want to lose her. Maybe it was his mother's death that led him not wanting to lose anything precious every again. But he did it to the point in which it scared Veronica, and for that I feel sorry for him.
JXsmin Tqrtl JD is a sociopath though, but a sociopath can feel remorse and have friendships etc. I think it was obvious that Veronica somewhat reminded him of his mother, since she wanted to be normal too. He shows a lot of signs of sociopathy. Lying, acting on impulse, irresponsible behavior and.. well, violence.
JXsmin Tqrtl Plus sociopaths only tends to befriend people who understand him, that’s why he wanted to do all this *with* Veronica, because he thought she understood him like no one else. Later on he found out she didn’t want that.
Shah Nawaz Ghauri Actually, a lot of sociopaths can form emotional bonds with people. But only with people who understand them, or at least with people who he assumes they can relate with.
JD shows a lot of symptoms of a sociopath. From his lying, to irresponsibility and impulsive aggressive behavior. Like him promising so many things in seventeen and him having sudden aggressive reactions in meant to be yours. JD also lacks empathy and guilt, most of the time. He hasn’t ever felt guilt in the musical though, at least I didn’t see that. But also the fact that he has a childhood trauma (what is common for sociopaths) can be a very good reason for him to be a sociopath.
JD wasn’t even desperate to be with Veronica in the first place. Note that more than 70% people see their parental figure in their significant other. He lost his mother, right? The fact that Veronica ‘committed’ suicide can be a clue to this. Which can be why he feels like he needs Veronica. Also because she hated the school so much, he thought they were the same. This is what make sociopaths maybe even a bit obsessed with a person.
It is possible that JD isn’t a sociopath, but quite unlikely.

I think you are talking about psychopaths ....theres a difference a sociopath is a lesser extreme they can feel but only to an extent psycopaths cant feel at all
your headcanons for jd's mental health spiral are exactly the thoughts i've been having. he does seem to be shocked and scared when he kills heather c, and as time goes on and he kills kurt and ram, it starts to reinforce his idea that he's doing good for the world. amazing art and amazing execution!! i love it!!!! ❤️

I like how when JD killed Chandler (my poor bae nuuu:'c) He had guilt and was genuinely shocked at what he did.
Then Kurt and Ram made Veronica he had no hesitation and no guilt after he killed them.

I love how Heathers death was more a mistake than the boys was out of pure feelings against them
Something I’ve realized is that if we were to look at this from a psychological perspective, JD is obviously suffering from mental illness and something I’ve realized is that Veronica isn’t even truly helping him. She’s telling him to just push it all away and let it go and ignore it instead of seeking help because she doesn’t know what to do. (This can be observed with the song Seventeen).
Veronica can't help him because she's also damaged too, after all those killings that had happened
My head cannon is that Veronica regrets not helping him. She knows she could have, but she didn’t. And when she broke up with him, you can tell he was flashing back to when his mother left him.

That’s a side of the story that I never thought about (specially because I’ve watched the movie before I knew the musical, and in the movie, JD is kinda… y’know, he has an extreme murderer vibe). Also you are super talented!

Was JD actually insane as the writers want you to think. I mean seeming your mother die probably screws you up, so he might’ve had some ptsd. He also seemed insecure, Veronica was the only one who he let touch his heart. So he was probably afraid off losing her so thought “I can prevent this” because he didn’t want to lose the only other person that he loved. Then he got way to overprotective and obsessive to the point that he made it a toxic relationship. Then after she faked her suicide he planted the bombs and was about to set them off, Veronica comes in and fights him. And he thought he couldn’t win her back so he quit and took the bomb. With out her he basically had no one and he was always moving making changes that he’d adapt to then have to go through again. Sometimes when you spend so much time with your own mind you forget how other minds work, he probably was confused he seemed to have some mood swings in my view. He might’ve been insane who knows, but what if it was fear of being betrayed and anxiety and insecurities and depression. But honestly this is just me babbling at 3 am
