I've seen worse living conditions in PHILIPPINES. You really can't compare. If you want to live in Philippines then you better saved lots and lots of money before going.

Along 4th St. po yan kanto ng S. Vermont Ave. sa Los Angeles, CA. Nakakain na po ako dyan sa Sizzler restaurant na pinakita nyo sa opening scene. May naka kwentuhan akong Pinoy na homeless sa LA while waiting for the bus. Tinanong ko kung bakit mas gusto pa nya sa kalsada matulog eh may mga homeless shelters naman sa LA. Ang sabi po nya kasi daw po malimit sya mapaaway sa ibang homeless lalo po yung mga itim sa paggamit ng bathroom or shower dahil common ang facilities. Marami daw po may mga mental illness kaya mahirap sila makasalamuha. May tinatanggap daw po syang pera sa gobyerno buwan buwan saka kung madala sya sa emergency may Medi-CAL card sya wala din bayad. Yung amount ng perang tinatanggap nya is more than enough to feed 3 people so he prefers not to work at umasa na lang. Meron din daw po syang pinipilahan na food bank na every weekend may truck na dumadating para mamigay ng isang bag na grocery. This is the reason ayaw maglimos ng mga kano sa kanila kasi alam nila may mga sustento ang mga ito. Yung ibang homeless nagpapalimos pa rin dahil may mga bisyo like sigarilyo, drugs, alak etc.
Maraming homeless nagsasakit sakitan para makatulog sila sa Emergency Room sa hospital sarap na sarap daw sila sa warm blanket na kagagaling sa mga dryer. Pag dinischarge na sila after a few days or a week obligasyon ng ospital na bigyan sila ng damit/footwear/sapatos, ihanap ng transportation at drop off sila sa safe na lugar. Kung hindi po nila gagawin ang mga ito possibleng ma demanda at masara ang ospital. Yung relative ko kasi works as a nurse sa malaking ospital sa LA at batas daw po yon.
Ayaw nila kasi habol nila vote nila sa election... Usually marami illegal homeless sa democratic state kasi Puro sila free stuff.

Although there have been isolated cases na nagkamali ang immigration dahil di nila alam citizen yung dineport nila but they were eventually brought back to the US. At kung nag demanda po yung citizen dahil sa pagkakamali ng immigration they can claim damages in the thousands of dollars. Kung green card palang pwede ma deport kung may felony or public charge.

Marami pong dahilan kung bakit nagiging homeless ang isang tao. Just because homeless ang isang Pinoy eh tamad sya. If you get laid off and your unemployment benefits run out and you got evicted it would be very hard to find another apartment coz landlords do a background check on you. Totoo po maraming trabaho sa US pero kung aged ka na, may mental illness or other disabilities yung chances po na makahanap kayo ng job is mas mababa. And especially sa Los Angeles where this video was taken, karamihan sa mga menial jobs na minimum wage like in fast food, restaurants, warehouse etc. mas gusto nila bilingual English/Spanish speakers. At dahil din sa COVID maraming employers ay nag layoff or shut their businesses altogether to reduce their losses.
True. Life is hard in foreign countries. Once you have find a good job in the Philippines. Stay there and you 'll be happy the rest of your life. Simple living is what we need.

@@erwincagampan5777 I know an elderly Pinay on SSI who only pays $200 for a studio for low income seniors in LA. But, I think she's on some kind of subsidized or Section 8 program which is why she only pays that much. Ang problem sa program nila na yan is yung backlog ng applicants which sometimes stretches to years before your application might eventually be considered. You can also move to a state with a much lower cost of living like Florida where from what I've read you can rent a mobile home for $300 although the tradeoff might be a lower pension compared to say California.

So I have no option right now My original plan is to go back to Pinas to live there for 3 years and go back here once I turn 66 if I’m still around BUT my parents are still alive and caregiving fall on me I’m turning 62 in May and will start collecting my Social Security.

Private client $25 dollars free room and free food for 5 days... Palagi.pa akong.tinatawagan. sa Homecare Agency 7 days na along fully booked...so a caregiver cannot be homeless in my own opinion...masipag ka lang for sure your life will be very good.

Ang kasabihan sa atin ay “kung May tiyaga, May nilaga” pero sa tingin ko mayroon silang tiyaga pero wala silang nilaga. Karamihan kasi diyan but not all ay nung maganda pa ang buhay nila ay hala sila ng hala without thinking ang kinabukasan. Dahil madaling kumita naging “one day millionaire” hindi nila alam that if something happens they will be thousand days broke. Sad to see their situation but it’s their choice kung bakit naghihirap sila.

It's just so heartbreaking seeing them like that yet some of those who were fortunate and is staying there thought they're mighty because they're n a country where not all could really reached it out knowing that the policy to get in there is not that very easy😊why choose to live a country that's beyond their means to sustain their needs

I’m a caregiver here in California if a client likes ur a hard working Caregiver they always offer a place to live and work.unless u are lazy to work u will be homeless.
i agree just like a nurse d mawawalan ng trabaho ang mga caregivers dito mas madiskarte ka kikita ka at least $17 or $18 here in my state. sa dami ng mga may dimentia dito ng need to keep an eye and helped with their routine.

It is quick for you comment about the things you don’t really know, most caregivers salary here in the US is not even a minimum salary. Most are $12 to $13 an hour. And now a days ang rent ng apartment is $900 for one bedroom. $1350 for ibabayad sa bahay pina ka mura na yan. Ang budget sa weekly Food is $200 mura na yan. Kon may kotse at nag da Drive ka dito, ang payment sa kotse is $250 installment a month, plus kailangan mo ang insurance inorder for to Drive $150 ang pina ka mura. Kailangan mo may health insurance pa that is $350 a month, mura na rin yan. Ang utility Bills mo pa $200 a month. Gas mo sa kotse $150 a month din. Can you imagine how this Filipino survive. Let me know kon may alam ka, some them end UP homeless. Not to forget they also send money to the Philippines. Unless if you are a nurse and very skillfull and Talented na maganda and trabaho. Still you struggle to meet ends meet.

US has 328 Million people. 500,000 po ang homeless. 300,000 in homeless shelters at 200,000 living in the streets, cars etc. Ang Pinas naman 107 Million ang tao. 4.5 Million ang homeless 3 Million sa Metro Manila pa lang.
