The yard is cool and has a lot of neat bikes. The owner is crazy as hell, literally. Wont sell anything for the most part and if he does its for insane prices so no one would buy it. Been there a few times over my 20+ years living in Arizona. Looks like you got to see him on one of his better days when you recorded this. Normally he will follow you around the yard to make sure you dont steal anything.
@@joyhouse5992 I would try Bobs Cycle Salvage in Phoenix, while they dont deal in Harley's too much, they can at least point you in a direction that may help you.
I have driven by this place hundreds of times since the 1980's as a kiddo. Every time it sends me off into a daydream of being madmax riding a customized marauder through the AZ desert.
Jacob Phelps - If you're talking about the machine at 3:47, it's not a BMW. It's a Marusho, made in Japan. It's not all that old either, relatively speaking, late '60s to mid-'70s. They also built some shaft drive V-twins (ala Moto Guzzi) under the Lilac name.
perfect locale for storing steel outdoors. very dry there of course. this one is an absolute gold mine for a dude like me. i love finding old broken down bikes and bringing them back to life. i saw a beautiful old Matchless and a BSA i think. rare, valuable bikes in good conditions
thank you for this video! here we are, immersed in a sort of real 80s film where real treasures are to be found! there are beautiful things to do with all these parts .... I like the beginning it feels like an easy rider movie ... except that the modern motorcycle that arrives ruins everything! thank you !
used to ride out to rye on the weekends when I was going to mmi in phoenix... good to see this place still exists! there is alot of history on that lot!
We had a cycle salvage in our town, the owner put dirt bikes together out of parts and sell them cheap, he kept us all on the trails, we would go by weekly to see what he built and sometimes trade up.

That place is in Rye Arizona. Use to go there as a kid back in the 80's from Payson where I grew up. I use to make a trip there for a quick part for my Honda ATC's. This place is no longer there....I heard a fire burned his house down. Not a 100% sure. Anyhow was a cool place to just walk around but a crying shame that all those bikes just sat out in the weather....Anyhow Peace out Homies
This place is a few miles south of Payson in a place called Rye. The area has a population of abt 60 people. Arizona is a good place to store old motorcycle parts out doors. The climate is dry with little rain and not much snow. Most of the rust is superficial. That guy had a thick Aussie accent.
Not sure exactly what happened, but the bikes were packed in there, and the yard was in the desert. They got the fire contained after it burned the buildings in the back and about 1/2 the bikes. The bikes in the front near the frontage road were ok. Some of those bikes moved a couple lots over and you can still see them from the highway, but nothing like what this video showed.

@@greengoat5654 I went through Phoenix in Jan 1980. It was flat and very hot. That's all I remember about Phoenix. I heard there's a place in AZ where airplanes are parked in the desert. I'd like to see that too. Often thought of buying a worn out jetliner and using it for a vacation home.
This place caught fire and destroyed about everything and caught the hills and adjacent mobile homes on fire. It's been at least five years now, there are videos of it burning.
I would be very happy if I was in your place bro, greetings to you from Indonesia. Wishing you more success for your channel, and growing for my channel. thanks bro..
There are thousands of dollars in this yard just rusting away. The owner should start disassembling these bikes, organizise the parts and sell them on the Internet. I saw several "rare" parts that would sell for top dollar. Most likely will never be used. Oh well, I can dream.
CRIKEY I would go nuts if I were to walk through this yard. There would be NO way I would leave without taking 1 of everything. And my wife just wouldn't understand.

A true JUNKYARD! I hate to see a lot of cool bikes rot in the Arizona sun. Most of these should be scrapped. The expense to restore any of them would be crazy.
