At cruise altitudes a jet can be traveling at 80% of the speed of sound. So if you cruise by at 1000' per second it would look like it would be standing still

Couple years ago I flew past something, or something flew past me that I could not identify. An opalescent white sphere maybe 20-30 feet in diameter. Over southern Utah. Appeared directly ahead of me out of nowhere. Missed me by feet, while I was doing 200 mph.
