Caught on camera: Strong winds uproot giant tree in New Zealand
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 кві 2014
- Widespread flooding, heavy rainfall and gale force winds caused road closures, power outages and slips around New Zealand on April 17 and 18. The rough conditions have been fuelled by ex-Cyclone Ita with the tail end of the tropical storm hitting the islands overnight on April 17. The winds blew down a large tree in Nelson, on the north tip of the South Island, which was captured on camera by a local resident.

It's been 6 years since the video has been uploaded. Now just have to wait for UA-cam's algorithm to work....
nope still no
and i searched up this topic
I have 6 years to understand your point.
3 more years... I think it's finally worked
RIP big christmas tree
Sad😐 that tree must have been a hundred years old or more.
A Norfolk Island pine triee. They have banned them in my Florida county because the wind strips them of their limbs and they become missles during hurricanes. I used to have one in my yard, but Hurricane Andrew broke off about 10 feet at the top. I was 100 miles north of the eye of Andrew.
Yep a cousin of the star pine in southern California.
A Triee Missles. Can anyone explain what species this is?
Such a sad end for a magnificent tree
+euronews (in English) No comment?
Was there anybody in the house?
....Crickets
????how
No one got hurt I hope
Nice of that man to check on people ❤👍
Here in the USA and Canada many people plant a similar looking tree called a Norway Spruce. They can get to be over 100 feet tall and have shallow roots so they tend to topple in high winds and take their entire root ball with them like in this video.
Timber!!! 0:34
Thank you for giving the information
Scary sight
Bro, the winds of Wellington are pretty strong that can even destroy 500000 trees per year
There's a big tree across the street from my house and I'm scared that it's going to fall on top of our house
Trim it
I feel very unsafe because it's very windy with clear sky's, some see through clouds the full moon, and heavy mad angry rustling winds that's making the tree look like to almost fall onto my house with my mom and dad
Tree placement.
Yea
Poor TREE and people's TREE and people who were inside that house
Here before the video blows up on the internet.
How strong was the wind?
Yes
At least tropical storm force

I feel bad for the pine tree,he had to take it all in and he just snapped in half.
I don’t suppose you could of stopped it but maybe stop filming and get down to warn ppl , I just don’t get this idea of filming dangerous and bad situations.

That's a weak tree I bet a 9yo can uproot it too.
Verdades k907 😑
It's a very tall tree, left to stand out in the open by itself with no protection and a small area for its roots to grow.
one thousandth like! LETS GOOOO
Poor tree 😢
