This mixer looks really nice. I do wish it had left and right parameter buttons, but that’s probably a small gripe and easily fixable through remapping. The settings for the crossfader probably could have been separate buttons on the front by the adjust like other mixers imho
There is a pad mode called Transport mode which allows you to cue, play, set tempo, and tempo bend. This will allow you to mix on the mixer without decks.

Im getting a delay between my headphones and my speakers on this mixer. I am only about 4 feet from the speakers. It wasnt doing this before. May I have moved or touched something? thanks?

I’m looking for a mixer and I use to have a ddj800, sold it and return back to cdjs (like better the feel on these) but i got used to pads for thr hot cues and samplers, do you recommend this mixer for what i said, or it will be better to get a djm 450 and get the ddj xp2 ???
I'm a hobbyist / new deejay that wants to learn how to scratch so I feel like I am in the target market for this mixer. With that being said I don't see how there's a value in this mixer for the "beginner / hobbyist" unless you already own a set of tables. Me as an example, I don't own any tables so this mixer and two pre-owned rane 12mk2s would cost me $2400. Assuming availability is back to normal, the rev7 or rane one (which I have) would be a smarter and cheaper investment. $1800 gets you a rev7 that has a full battle style setup and hardware fx. Again this is only relevant to the person that's starting from scratch.
It’s specific to a beginner turntablist. There are folks who want to move into turntables but aren’t ready to invest in $1399 for a DJM-S7 or $1999 for a DJM-S11. The DJM-S5 is the lowest cost mixer with the Magvel Fader Pro, all 12 pad modes, and first Pioneer DJ mixer to be bus power and USB type-C. Because of the power options, this can be used with a battery bank and battery powered portable turntables for wireless practice anywhere; while having full XLR outputs for hooking up to a proper PA rig. For the beginner, the scratch cutter feature helps teach how to scratch. Yes for a beginner DJ, the DDJ-REV7 and selection of many other controllers and all in one systems is more cost effective. But for someone getting into turntablism, this gives you many pro features of the S11 and S7 for $839.
@@priyonjoni the way you put that makes it make more sense. I want to get into turntablism but I don't have the space and can't justify the cost of a full setup which is why I went with the Rane One, but I can see how it would be a value when I am ready for a full turntable mixer setup.
DJ controllers, yes, that is the case. But this device is a battle mixer, and no battle mixer below $1200 has ever had more than 4. The DJM-S5 is the first one to let you toggle between 1-4 and 5-8 under $1000.

In my opinion its the future of new mixers. It has the ability to use a usb port to power with Bus Power. You use it anywhere without a power outlet.

Are you able to adjust the # of beats on the loops? Ex :1/3, 1/2, 1, 2 ect.
