So, to summary for every team weakness so far:
Red Bull: curb and bumpy track
Ferrari: wet/cold track condition
Definitely being shown that
Aston Martin: Upgrades
@@F1Unchained A lot of younger youtubers are very methodical and presentational. They lack the skills of older people. Older people have a non rehearsed conversational style that feels natural. You should listen to some Peter Windsor and older people like Jeremy Clarkson to see what I mean. Most young people have this newspresenter vocal intonation. It comes across as very impersonal and vacant.
@@F1Unchained When you feel ready and lacklustre you should try a really relaxed conversational style video.
@@Hermanubis1that’s because most young youtubers think a video is a powerpoint presentation 😂
I think ferrari and mercedes are polar opposites, ferrari loves high heat, and mercedes loves cold weather, since it was so cold, they just weren't that good. This weekend ferrari just had all the bad luck
was not just bad luck, team error and skill issue: when every other team was on inters, and haas on wets, ferarri put leclerc on hards 😂
Because merc puts to much energy into the tires and ferrari puts too little.
This is a ferrari thing for years. Over the last 10 years when they had good tire deg they also put too little energy into the tire. So in the cold they suffer.
Also Ferrari is overall a competitive car while Mercedes is not (leaderboards are clear, opinions don't matter, numbers do)
@@SilverScarletSpiderwell they were already far behind so if hards had worked it would have been chance of points maybe maybe maybe but if they just put him on inters he would still be last and about 30 seconds or more behind the last
The disaster in Ferrari began in practice 1. They were too slow in setup the cars in the first 30 minutes in the P1, when the track was dry. I noted Mercedes, McLaren, running fast with red tires while Leclerc and Sainz were walking with yellow tires. Then the rain appears.... And also the P2 was under rain, so Mercedes and McLaren achieves the set-up for the qualy, but Ferrari.... Get lost...
Ferrari are so kind to their tyres, they cannot fire them up and the cold weather exacerbated that. It was a one off. The opposite goes for the Mercs. They are so bad with tyres that the cook them and cold weather gave them a free pass. It will be to business as usual next week in warm Spain
By business as usual you mean they will fuck up as usual? 😂
@@user-jy6ol4xp3mthats what he means, yes
Around 2017s they were also really kind to the tires. And they had the exact same issues. In the cold, they sucked. In the heat, they were fine.

So Giovinazzi?
😂😂 Ferrari sure had a really rough go at the weekend. Charles had mechanical, hard to fault him.
But Sainz was just slow, too slow.
The IMOLA upgrade wasn't meant to help the tyre warm-up it was adding more load and down force to the car but the Silverstone upgrade is focused on the weak points of the sf24 like qualifying, slow speed, tyre warmup and long corners
Vassuer said multiple times it should help with warm up and qualifying pace. It has added what you said as well
@@F1Unchained FerrariFRA on twitter said it should help and control it but not necessarily fix it like the Silverstone upgrades will
@@speedzyx Could, because it's not sure till they try it on track.
I don't think the imola updates are for the warm up those are coming in Silverstone. As we return to Europe hopefully the weather is hotter so they can return to normal
Actually leclerc i think said that they didn't have any fresh softs in that q2 end, they used them earlier because they thought the rain is coming, since it didn't they just risked it and got caught out
Yeah they only had 1 set of softs left which were saving for Q3
Man why you did not upload any video after FP1 and FP2 before quali?
Your analyses were always very useful before Q.
Its basically the setup issue because ferrari properly prepared for a wet setup and didnt focus on a dry one hence due to last min changes it suffered even more. For the engine problem it cannot be complained
True but Carlos said the car in the wet was weak as well
@@F1Unchained true it was said that he was struggling with the pace but charles was actually matching fernando’s pace when his engine was good and he was catching stroll at front for about 9 tenths a lap until the issue occurred.
@@F1Unchained But overall if we see the weekend right from the fp1 this weekend will be bad but this will be a learner for us.
nah i don't think you can take anything from the GP. it was a complete mess, Barcelona will show where everyone is at if the weather is good.
I feel like Canada was just an outlier for Ferrari. A combination of bad situations and decisions resulting in a poor weekend.
If Ferrari want to have any hope of winning any titles again, they need to behave like an elite team. Yesterday was a prime example of why they haven’t won any titles since 2008. A complete shit-show all around. No elite teams have even ONE shambolic weekend. McLaren, Red Bull, and even Mercedes don’t have shambolic weekends when the pressure is on. Monaco was the dream, and the team is slowly improving operationally. But Canada was proof that this team still has a LONG road ahead. I am convinced that fucking up is in their DNA at this point.
Lewis joining in 25 won’t make it any easier, either
MCL has been truly great all-around, RBR just needs Max and MERC had one good weekend (to call 6th places and lower "good results" is humiliating for WCC winners).
But Ferrari does need to step up their game if they wish to contend
Actually EVERYONE made mistakes yesterday. Mclaren had the opportunity to box Norris immediately and keep him ahead and they didn't. Russell made several driving mistakes. RB and Verstappen were the only ones being bulletproof and that's normal: they have been dominating for the past 2 and a half years, they are sharp. Ferrari and Mclaren have improved massively in these past months but now they need to improve on other aspects as well, that's part of the process. Stop bitching. Also, the sentence "that's why they haven't won any titles since 2008" doesn't make sense because Ferrari hasn't been the exact same thing from 2009 to today. In fact, today's team has nothing to do with the one we saw in 2015-2018 and that team doesn't have anything to do with the one we saw in 2009-2014. So making comparisons is just stupid. Ferrari started from a blank sheet in 2023 and they are improving massively. Considering how big RB's advantage was last year, it's already a miracle that after 9 races they are less than 60 points behind.
@@augustofranklim5409 They have stepped up way more than anyone else in the past 8 months
I wouldn’t say the hard fire super gamble was that bad. I mean if the rain by a miracle hadn’t come he would be in a good position and if they had chosen inters instead he would still be last and far behind the one in front of him
Always look forward to your videos every race weekend man 🫶

What can I say, on point as usual. Inciteful and very informative. I am still very curious as to your background and the source of your knowledge. Your ability to explain the complex in such an understandable way is a gift of yours I trully appreciate. Age is sometimes cruel, but thanks to your content, I can enjoy my F1 the way I remember it.
Amazing video, amazing channel! Hope it continues to grow
Well to be fair they put on new soft at the beginning of Q2 and it wore out throughout the session leaving them with wore out soft at the end. If they had gone vice versa it would have been better considering track evolution
Yeah but everyone thought the rain was coming, so getting in the good lap before the rain was important. That never happened.
It was a risk but others didn’t make the mistake
I reckon consistency along with upgrades are important for the constructor standings. It is possible to come 2nd+3rd every race and win the constructors title that way. (Thank you for the shout-out, too ☺️)
always my friend and agreed the upgrades are too inconsistent as of right now.
I just hope this was a blip and not a return of the "Question?/plan A-Z" era of Ferrari.
Hey love your video !
But can you explain how merc are quick after only bringing front wing update ( the dodgy condition + cold track temp prob help ) hopefully they are consistent though
Also im very exited to 4 team fighting for win
Seems that they've done a lot of changes outside of putting new parts on the car.
Mercedes said that the front wing change is geared more towards stabilising the car in corners, even if it slightly reduces overall speed. Gives both drivers more confidence to push into things more.
I’m definitely going to talk about Mercedes soon

I think a weakness like this is easily fixed with a more aggressive setup that works the three more. We have seen teams have these characteristics before and still perform well - notably Red Bull in Hungary which had similar struggles in really cold temperatures but we didn’t see it happen again after Hungary.
This just shows us that Ferrari are not maximizing their car setups.
Friend , are you going to make a video on race analysis and what to expect in the next 3rd of the season ? Perhaps throw in the light towards the gains for each team..like on turns, bumpy tracks, tire firing up with some stats ? It's just a suggestion ..always nice to see your work..
I will make something like that soon. As we go to each track I will definitely talk about future as wel
Main reason was the soft setting voor suspension. Couldn't get the tires in the operation window because of that.
Starting 2024 season Ferrari was best for tyre degradation, low degradation Ferrari means less wear - less grip in rain so I think Ferrari will not win in rainy condition or wet circuit, until they can set the same tyre hungry set from 2023 SF23 settings.
Great video! "A P6 from Max is basically a DNF" 😂

Bad strategy decisions.... the story of the Ferrari team in 3 words
Mercedes going to be slow next race. Cold weather is its strong point
Hey it is an Italian car ... merest hint of rain and it rusts, the electrics go on the blink and falls apart ... but seriously Canada is a weird track it is not one you can take away any performance benchmarks, it is a cold, slippy (and this time) wet track that is neither overly high downforce nor low downforce track it is an outlier compared to proper tracks so wouldn't panic too much ... now Barcelona will tell if the Fezza is fast.
You look like John Wick. Great content

Love your channel, not sure why, but when I watch on my TV, your voice has a lot of bass, which makes you sound somewhat muffled. No other UA-camrs do that. Maybe a mic thing.
I feel Max>>>Charles ....when the car is not perfect.....charles struggles a lot and he is in general not a good driver in wets....in the same ferrari Max would be minimum fighting for podium places....
Ferrari did what us gamers do in the beginning stages of playing the game. Use the wrong track setup lol. Plus, they were checking. 😂😂😂
Great analysis as always man
😁❤️ thank you my friend
Could any of the top 5 drivers done well if they started on the wets like the haas’ and gained a large lead then pitted for inters or would they not have been able to gain enough to get a free pitstop
Ferrari had better confidence on the radio in Monaco, lots of good and clear decisions.
Canada was a mess for them.
Was Canada the mess or was Monaco the outlier?
Nice video. On a separate topic, Mercedes only did well because the temps were low, they struggle with hot temps, at least they did at the start of the season.
please make a video for your review on the race
New sub here 🙋♂️great content !!
Thank you my friend ❤️
Being so far down the grid Ferrari should have started on wets like Haas. Easier to warm up in the wet and they might have been able hold on longer than Haas and get away with doing only 2 pit stops. Would have been interesting to see how that played out. If they know they struggle warming up the tires they should have taken that into account with their strategy and tire choices.
My man has such a friendly face that it is impossible to not like the video when you ask.
Hahaha such a lovey comment. Thank you my friend ❤️
I have been saying for weeks that Pirelli is messing with the tire compounds under the radar at the direction of the FIA in the name of "closer racing". Fredarri isn't lost, LuLu isn't washed, Max wasn't "Lost" at Imola, Alonso isn't smoking weed, SOMETHING is rotten in Denmark, pun intended.
In case you did not know: you cant enter q3 without a new set of soft because of the rules
No matter what happens i'm ferrari fan...this weekend a lot of things didnt get together and we were screwed up badly.
Next race in Spain we'll be back im 100% sure.
True but Spain with many fast corners & one big straight line. Mclaren & Redbull as usual will be rapid on those characteristics. It will be 3 way fight (may be Merc will be join as well).
NEW F1UNCHAINED VIDEO LETS GOOO
I wanna point out Carlos’ pace, he was lacking a lot imo compared to a Leclerc with engine issues. He didn’t really move forward in any of his stints.
I think Charles was 80 hp down on the straights because of his PU gremlins along with being unable to properly get heat into the tyres quick enough.
Canada is one of the lowest downforce track on the calendar and Ferrari clearly struggled with it. They will be back at the front group in Barcelona.
Correct but lack of kerbs and bumps would favour RB more than Ferrari which is an issue here
I agree
@@seansiew5629it was wet so not many drivers were fully using the kerbs. Canada has long straights so the slow speed disadvantage isn’t that big a deal compared to Monaco and Singapore. (Except if you’re Perez of course)
Around 2017s they were also really kind to the tires. And they had the exact same issues. In the cold, they sucked. In the heat, they performed well
Ferrar is slow in cold temp just like China and Japan. But here it was the worst.
I don't want to panic as this seemed like just a perfect storm of calamities with their old strategy blunders rearing their head again, but it really came down to the engine issue for Charles being the death blow. Question: does Barcelona count as a "C" as it is in Catalunya ?
I didn’t think about catalunya. Ferrari might be screwed… on a serious note I think that will be a great track for them
damned what a nightmare for the Red Cars 😱, thanks.
The more the season progresses the more it seems like Mclaren are the only ones who have a car that works everywhere
do you know why Lando was quick on inters but slower than Verstappen on mediums?
Set up and tire wear
Norris is very cautious with bringing his tyres into the correct window, while Max was pushing trying to fight Russell. Once he was got past Russell, he could bring the mediums in properly. Norris on the other hand was pushing hard on the medium, which was sliding a lot on a cold track.
Your videos usually great, but in this one there is a lot of missinformation in this one.
1. Charles start was great, he gained 2 places and the lack of practice starts didnt make an impact on him.
2. The engine issue cost 1.2 sec and 80hp, not 0.6 sec and the only way they can fix it is the restart at the pit, and at that point his race is over so the hard gampling is definitely not the right decision, but he has nothing to loose.
3. The sf24 evo is not supposed to solve the tire heat issues, its just an evolution of the car, and the upgrade is supposed to solve the issue is come in silverstone.
4. straight line speed is not a problem, ferrari, red bull and merc top speed in qualy around 330-329, and the mclaren top speed was only 324, so thats not true this car has a drag problem, only time they slow in the straight is Imola, but thats bc a bad ers deployment, apart from that ferrari has similar to speed to red bull, if the rear wings are similar. (Yes in jeddah red bull much faster in the straight, but they running on lower downforce too, so drag is not really an issue for ferrari).
Cars have becone too complicated. Once rhey become simple there will be more actual racing.
Pain.
Ferrari will be fine and should quite a bit more races this year imo.
This weekend was perfect shitstorm for them.. low track temp with new surface just never get their tyre gentle car a chance to fire them up..and it all culminated during the race with bad luck piling on top of all.
Watch out for Ferrari during the hot summer races!
The strategy has improved?
Do You want an explanation of how aero downforce cars are "counterintuitive" for getting heat into the tires?
So much misinformation… they already said the new softs that the commentators talked about was the one locked for Q3. The team did practice starts in P1 and P2, only not in P3, and that session was a dry practice start anyway. For a post-race review, this level of fact finding is pretty poor
i guess ferrari sf24 is like mercedes w10 very gentle on tires and hard to warm up correct me if i am wrong?
More like opposite weather wise. Mercedes is great in cold while Ferrari is great in hot.
@@F1Unchained but i was referring to the 2019 mercedes which had similar issue like 2024 ferrari
Canada was a masterclass in what not to do when looking at Ferrari. They were trying to make things happen that were just not possible.
Great to see Mercedes back ! Hoping that it isn't traffic specific. It looks like so far Mclaren seem to be the most consistent car. Max and Red Bull are still the ultimate combo but the Mclaren car at the very least seems to work on every condition. I'm pretty excited for the development war. It still race 9 and we have multiple challengers for the win. Is there any news on upcoming upgrades for the teams ? Everyone seems quiet so far.

Ferrari’s legendary strategy to put Leclerc on hards in inters weather
In my opinion it was setup issue
What a race !!!
Maybe Ferrari can learn from McLaren to gain major ground : corelate wind tunnel so well that even a small part performs exactly as expected. It's a joke Ferrari isn't at that level still by the looks of it.

Nope!
I love how, right as we have multiple teams being competitive, it’s just about time to change formulas again. The people running F1 are idiots. The 2026 rules changes will lead to another boring period of dominance by one team, followed by several years of teams playing catch-up, followed by - you guessed it - another formula change.

Ha! Monaco was bought and paid for... since Quali when Max gave up after a "bump".... and we a all know that Monaco is won on the pole position.... Then we have that drag that Russell stuck to to keep a gap of more than 6 seconds.... AT ALL TIMES except at the last laps when magically he closed the gap to less than 1 second almost....
