  • Two weeks ago, I released my new NextGen Styles set, which allows you to automatically adjust white balance and get the most out of Capture One's AI tools. Today, I am going to challenge NextGen Styles on 100 RAW files. I've chosen images of different genres, taken with various camera models under diverse conditions.

would be interesting t see the RGB histogram changes between the auto and styles - these seem pretty intersesting.....do they work well with flash ambient mixes?

Thank you! Yes, they should work with flash ambient mixes if there is a person in the scene. Feel free to download the sample styles and test them on your images - alexonraw.com/capture-one-ai-styles-nextgen-presets/

Alex, can I ask you which version of Capture One does your expert course cover?

Hi Daniel, originally it was recorded on Capture One 23 (16.2). However, I've also added new videos on the Capture One Pro 16.3 update to the course.

well, if the auto WB gives a warmer look on portraits, then you suddenly prefer your own cooler look, and if the auto WB is a little cooler or natural then you prefer the warmer look 😀 to me it looks awfully like you prefer your look no matter what
would be interesting to make a real blindtest for you, where you don't know if auto WB or one of your styles was used. that would be much more convincing if your styles then win... 😂

Thanks for your comment! Since color is very subjective, I try to give customers as much information as possible before they buy. That's why I offer 5 sample styles and recorded this video. These styles are not ideal, they don't work 100% of the time, and more importantly, your understanding of correct color may differ from mine, and that's perfectly fine. Some photographers find them extremely helpful, some don't. This video and sample styles are just to help separate the former from the latter before you spend money on them.
