I remember the days when Harika used to sleep on Airport chairs waiting for transit on the way to Isle of Man...and, this was after she was a GM and has World Championship medals. Very few people understand how much these players have struggled to get to this place.
I won't lie I was sad during the Olympiad when Harika was losing more than winning but now hearing about the last minute call, I totally understand. Kudos to her for representing the country for the last 20y. Good things come to those who wait and even more if you work hard. It was always meant to be now.
i remember being so emotional back then , i literally printed her pictures and would even post them in our school decoration board i love het so much iam such a fan of her and seeing her so happy made my day a lot! ❤❤
I got so angry with horrible the comments that were written on the live stream when she was loosing or even drawing her games. She is a world class player, we have seen her perform at 2780 level in 2021 in so many tournaments. Playing for board 1 is not easy. Watching her cry after the last round made me emotional too. So proud of you harika akka!
There is something so special about harika ,her humility and clarity that always amazes me . The fact she made us realise vaishali's sacrifice to play with black in the last few matches for the team was so wonderful❤.
We need more such videos where women discuss the guilt they feel to leave their children behind - we never hear the men feeling guilty for this. Important to show how much harder it is for a mother. So proud of Harika and her family. Without the support, it is impossible. And that is why its not the same for a woman, once she is a mother in any sport!
I am sure your daughter will be super proud of you when she growup and here about you playing for indian gold medal. your contribution is invaluable we cannot thanks you alot.
Harika is sweet and candid as always. Her emotions and relief are of course understandable. To have persevered for 20 years and to finally get it! Cannot even image how that feeling is! If this is indeed her last dance for Team India, what a dance it has been!
Huge fan of chess base india and the players for always bringing us the content that shows the real side of the players. ❤if any one from the cbi team sees this, please know that this is so emotional for me as i altho i knew chess since childhood, i started watching it because of you. This will sound funny but you guys and the grandmasters feel like my virtual friends because whenever I'm stressed, i get motivated from their resilience and whenever i need solace, this channel and the players videos/games and chess in general provides me that. Huge huge thanks. Lots of love ❤
Harika and Humpy have been flag bearers for India for such a long time. Hope they can continue their journey and enjoy the success with the younger generation :).
Congratulations to the two marvellous Indian teams. I kept my fingers crossed you'd win the two gold medals. I absolutely adore the players and Indian ciulture in general. It's like a giant, awakening! And who knows, Gukesh might be the next world champion!? Greetings, in euphoria, from Germany!
Harika is an inspiration! Such determination - playing while pregnant, playing with a small kid, coming again and agian for 20 years (!!!!) - finally the gold! Just incredible!
In case anyone feels like giving up on their dreams...this interview is a Must watch. Pranam to the legend of Indian Chess Grandmaster Harika Dronavalli for carrying the pride of Bharat 🇮🇳
Most of our champs are humble and DTE. Lose gracefully and win humbly . Thats the ideal character. Some foreign champs i have seen are an arrogant lot of the first order.
What a legend she is man! Playing chess in 9 months of pregnancy is different level dedication🫡 Well deserved tbh👏 🎉 Tania managing to play even after not being part of mainstream team few days before tournament is also a great achievement🙌 Aur baaki teeno ke toh kya hii kehne😅
The Indian women's chess team's victory at the Chess Olympiad is a monumental achievement, showcasing the exceptional talent and determination of the players. Despite the absence of top-ranked player Koneru Humpy, the team, comprising Harika Dronavalli, R Vaishali, Divya Deshmukh, Vantika Agrawal, and Tania Sachdev, demonstrated remarkable skill and composure under pressure. Their historic win not only marks a significant milestone in Indian chess but also serves as an inspiration for future generations of chess enthusiasts worldwide.
